Nice pug-bashing vid, I like the music. Are there any good guilds on Elona or is it mostly people who haven’t found out about dodge yet?
Hope we’ll get to kick your kitten in a not to distant future :P
Probably not, but most of us hope they leave it in. It’s the perfect way to chat without worrying about hurting sensitive people’s feelings. The option to decline party invitation is always there, unlike whispers which you receive without consent (before blocking an individual ofc).
They removed the ability to chat with your enemies by finding out their name through reporting them, so I doubt it’s intended. Most likely an oversight on their part, but who knows, maybe they changed their mind.
I must say something about yesterday GvG. It was amazing to see people from all three servers just standing side by side watching the skirmishes.
wth, when did this all happen?
Shortly after midnight CET yesterday. You can find the fights here
If you can’t buy siege equipment when a place is being attacked then why on earth should you still be allowed to buy upgrades that could decimate precious supply?
At least some upgrades restore a keeps/towers gates and walls to full health, so if you manage to hold of the enemy long enough, your enemy may suddenly be staring at a reinforced gate at 100% health.
Nice PuG bashing, good use of chokes. It’s definitely not 30 people you are up against though.
I thought the general consensus was that just about everything they do with wvw shows they have little understanding of what their playerbase wants
Trying to be a nice guy here… :/
Names should be visible across servers, and right click -> whisper right along side it. WvW survives on the back of grudges/communities, and disabling any form of identity or communication doesn’t help that.
I think anet has this weird idea that making everyone anonymous means no one can hate each other, but that’s the opposite of how interaction works. When you can talk to someone, see their character name, and get used to seeing them, it humanizes them and ultimately makes things less hostile than fighting nameless hordes.
I think the devs have this weird preconception that the people doing WvW are like infants that need to be shielded from every harm possible. They therefore do whatever they can to prevent any harm from befalling their poor babies. I’m surprised they even allow guild tags and unique looks in WvW.
Like you said WvW, at least for the dedicated guilds, becomes much more interesting when it involves the social interaction between these guilds. Being able to taunt your foes after their defeats, acknowledging them for a good fight, or blaming their victory on their vastly superior numbers, is an important aspect for WvW. It helps build the competitive nature that makes people come back for more. The fact that Anet is not encouraging this more openly is a shame and shows a lack of understanding of a decent part of their games more devoted population.
A big congrats to RG, one of the thougher guild we ever fought. Never had so much fun in a battle
Seems like we killed the poor hamsters :/
Yea yesterday evening …
Bytheway the hamsters yesterday evening kick your kitten a couple of times ^^
I’m not quite sure you understood the meaning of my original post…

for some reason i lagg alot more now i can walk or i jump around could this be becasue of the culling? but another wierd thing is i lag just as much in best apearance ( all high settings) as i do in best performance.. any solutions?
In WvW the GPU is almost never the limiting factor unless you have a weird match of Hardware, thus changing your graphical settings doesn’t matter. Your problem is more likely to have to do with the connection on your end, or your just unlucky and there is problems in connection between your computer and the server.
I’m also having weird rubberbanding/desyncs I have not had before. Really making things frustrating.
This may be a different issue all together. I do not know anyone who has experienced this in relation to the culling issue. I play in a large guild and hang out on a couple other large guilds vents as well and we discuss stuff like this a lot and not once has rubberbanding/desyncing come up. Sounds like it may be a major latency related issue on your end some where.
Never happened before the patch and constant latency of 40-60 for GW2.exe.
It’s way worse since the path in terms of how PCs get culled for me and I’m also having weird rubberbanding/desyncs I have not had before. Really making things frustrating.
Don’t know if this change is the reason, but things definitely haven’t been working properly tonight. Having a lot of minor rubberbanding/desync problems in WvW.
I mostly play off peak times for my server and am often very outnumbered, but I don’t log out.
Getting groups that stay together is hard, everytime someone leaves you can’t kick them at all and have to reform.
Some unfixed bug means I can never join a commander squad, ever.
I’ve never server hopped to increase my rewards.
I have no urge to do PvE stuff, which I find utterly boring, unfortunately that includes super mario jumping.
I try and do strategically useful stuff, to help my side, not only play if there’s a winning zerg or log or server hop.It seem demoralising that to start getting either cash or badges in anything like a useful time frame (like even 10% as fast as they announce new gear tiers) I need to start being more selfish in playstyle and/or pay for my limited playtime with much of it spent not having fun, but with a second job in PvE, earning in game gold wages to buy gear for WvW?
Thanks a lot for all the nice replies btw, but I’m still confused how low playtime, not server hopping, WvW players are supposed to end up with even 1 gear set, let alone several?
So instead of swapping to a server with people that play in the same timezone as you do, you choose to remain on a server where you barely find people to play with? Seems to me like the problem here is some kind of weird moral standards on your part rather than Anets fault.
I make about 100 badges per evening playing about 5 hours and around 1 gold from vendoring blues and junk, even if I die a lot. Obviously I play in a decent guild to achieve this, but I think that at least grouping up can be expected for WvW just as you are unable to solo a dungeon. That said, it is indeed probably faster to grind AC if you want quick PVT gear and cash.
I have to agree with the posters saying that acquiring gear from WvW is much more time consuming than from PvE though.
Pretty sure this is actually not a bug. Roll for Initiative is a “Stun breaker”. Immobilize is not a stun or disable and is thus not removed. What happens here is that you cast RfI and the animation starts. Mid animation immobilize wears off, allowing your character to move again and your character now finishes the animation, thus rolling back half the distance.
So many scrubs. If you dislike the downed system fine, but blaming it for your inability to take on multiple people is just bad. Killing twice your numbers isn’t that hard (if they are bads and you are pro obviously), even killing more than that is possible depending on comp and terrain. I guess some people just want to be an unstoppable god of destruction and take on the entire enemy world on their own.
If you remove the downed system you would have to increase HP/lower damage or everyone would run invis super-squishy bombgroups with some CC, that just two-shot chunks of people before they even realize what’s going on. Something which is close to possible even now. If that’s what you want, then fine, but you should be aware of the consequences.
“Yeah, other classes get punished when they miss their big attack by facing a CD”
Warrior burst attacks don’t. Neither does activated (or non activated) virtue of justice.
Warrior burst attacks get put on cooldown if they miss, but the adrenaline does not get drained.
My question is: what makes what this particular group did bannable?
I may be interpreting something incorrectly, but from what I’ve read in this thread, some people did the following:
1) Pasted together a video where they showed that you could make a legendary precursor from item X, Y and Z. They then stated this and had several other people who were in on it state this. Obviously they are lying about it and are well aware that they are lying about it, cause otherwise there wouldn’t be any fuzz about this.
2) They then proceed to sell a bunch of these items X, Y and Z for ridiculously high prices, using the fact that the TP prevents you from seeing who the seller is.
If these were real life products, it would definitely be considered fraud. The very simple reason and the reason why this is different from the “Ohh look at this cool items pliz buy it”, is that, not only are these people lying, they are also presenting videos as proof that have been pasted together with the sole purpose of deceiving others.
Like I said, if this was tangible property, I have no doubt you could prosecute them for fraud.
If they could just fix Fast Hands … I’d be happy… >.<
Same, this has been bugged since launch and it’s getting kind of annoying :/
I’m not white knighting, but do you expect me, or anyone for that matter, to take the words of some random guy on the internet who does absolutely nothing to back up his claim? I mean, it’s not hard to record some in game footage of you playing, converting it and then uploading it to youtube for everyone to see the alleged superior quality of you and your server.
Did they buff Divinity back without telling me?
Also think it would be a good idea to add what type of content(WvW, SPvP, Dungeons etc.) you think what build is suitable for.
Oh, it’s not a matter of e-fame, it’s a matter of “credibility”. Anyone can come on a forum and go “ kitten you suck and your build sucks. My server is the best and I’m the best on my server.”
It would lend your trash-talking of the OP any sense of credibility if you posted a video demonstrating your superior skill, the superior skill of your opponents etc. If you are feeling shy, feel free to link to a vid in a pm to me and you have my word I won’t link it on this forum to prevent you from gaining any E-fame.
I would only use it for assessing whether or not to lend your attacks any credibility, or if you are just another bad player who’s mad at the OP for achieving something you can’t, regardless of its value.
Edit: Can’t type properly with this strict filter, this is silly.

Would you care to post a vid of you playing your spec and doing well then, against “proper” opponents Samuels?
Wub Wub, I like your editing.
Barring people being stupid I imagine prices will slowly but steadily decline further. Fine crafting materials and cloths are another story since their supply is more randomized. It had to happen sooner or later, basically.
Ofc, I just find it odd, that over basically a day, prices that had been stable for a week dropped so much.
This is a good question. I noticed the same. Copper had been stable for a week at around 18-19 copper and then over one day were I wasn’t online(think it was on thursday) it suddenly dropped to 16. Similar things happened to other crafting mats. Bot maybe, dunno.
Yup, this is a great tactic if you want to drop the price of something you want to buy. Like pointed out before, it usually doesn’t work for items with a large and constant supply and demand, like copper. However if you do it during off peak hours with T6 crafting mats, you can usually save some money.
It doesn’t have anything to do with supply and demand, but with the fact that there is no entrance barrier into the market, so anyone can enter it easily, even if they are stupid and have no understanding of it. The fact that these items are by the sellers being tricked, not bought, but earned through labor(read farming), means that they also lack any sense of the actual value determined by supply and demand.
On top of that, unlike in the real world, people don’t have to pay for food and rent daily, so there’s not the same desire to make sure that all the hours spent in the game are actually profitable, which is another reason why you have people driving the price down.

^Piken square, same as MM.
It’s a UI bug where it counts the runes on your character in SPvP as well. I would guess you have 6 runes of vampirism on your PvP set. Lik eI said, it’s only a UI bug, you don’t actually get the benefit. Tested with Rune of the soldier.
Nice to see MM from their own perspective instead of watching them wipe enemy PuGs. Anyway, don’t know why you are trying, people always gonna whine cause bad. Warrior is the beefiest profession for the least effort of all. Only things that come close are well played Guardians and Mesmers(so far I’ve seen like 2 of these.) Shout builds are amazing for WvW, although I prefer Fear Me over On my mark. Here’s my own contribution:

You can faceroll through leveling like this, get’s a bit harder in dungeons though where mobs actually deal damage to you.
Still bugged. Most disappointing continuously falling through the floor and the boss being absent after an otherwise smooth run.
I believe this is the thread you are looking for: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Malchor-Leap-Skill-Point-Bugged
So much reading comprehension fail in this thread it’s unbelievable. The OP is complaining about people being invis due to the culling system, not due to use of Mesmer elites or some such. Invisibility is broken when dealing damage, culling invis is not. This could definitely be regarded as exploiting. Not saying it is, that’s up for Anet to decide, but the intended use of it is obviously not to bomb the crap out of people while perma invis. If they can ban people for converting karma to money they sure as hell can ban people for this.
I’m mostly curious as to whether or not the mesmer portal is visible or not. I imagine it would be which would simplify countering it. I guess you could always argue that they use the portal to get past a choke and thus should not be regarded as exploiting. However the defending part definitely sounds like them using the portal purely for the sake of turning invisible, which I would deem as exploiting.

While I agree with your basic point, your analysis show you don’t really know the abilities. Both Warrior and Necro ability is single target, meaning two people get guaranteed finish. The fact that the engineer has a pull doesn’t matter, because you need to be within melee range to finish anyway. The pull knocks the player down, interrupting the finishing move, thus serving exactly the same way as the warrior and necro 2 ability.
Tbh the only classes which are ahead are Mesmer and Thief and possibly Guardian, although Guardian is easily countered by stability. Elementalists are the ones with the worst abilities atm.
Video blocked by YT.
Might be your country, works here in the US
Doesn’t work in Sweden for the record. Now I haven’t seen this video, so I apologize in advance if my assumptions are wrong, but looking at your spec I’m gonna guess you are going squishy 100B warrior. I hope you kill lots of pugs in that video so more people roll that spec. Love facerolling all the tons of glass cannons who came directly from SPvP and think it works the same in WvW.
