Last night was crazy! So Like my guild was running around in WvW and BAM! Some other guild from another server was there! It was almost like our guilds were at war! I had no idea other their were other guilds in this game, let alone getting to fight one…I for one hope this happens more often!

Even I can tell that they are throwing lowlevels and map completionists at us and I am not uselessly camping a camp that provides a dolyak to a tower we do not own, or that nobody is using to resupply because CD is not bothering to show up to WvW.

Here’s the deal, “bro.” If you think they play so much better than us, and you want us to change to their play style by calling us “embarrassing”, then maybe you should just transfer to TC. Chances are, they may give you gold to do so. They have in the past.

SoR was the most exciting server I ever played. Although I am a new TC player, I can tell you I learned more fighting them than I have learned my entire WvW experience. I will take losing to them more often if we get fights like we did last week. It helped me step up my play because of the high tempo that SoR plays at. Special thanks to [FEAR], [TSYM], [IRON], and [HELIOZ] for the tough fights!

Oh yes definitely, that’s a natural consequence of having more players (of which a large proportion are from PvE).

I’ve noticed that you guys say this a lot: that you have a large amount of PvE’ers. It certainly seems like you’re implying that this is the reason you have bad players. . . .

That’s all and well, but I can tell you that we don’t even consider guesting on TC anymore when we (God forbid!) have to PvE karma train in Orr. We never see anyone there. Hell, just yesterday we tried to guest on TC to run a few quick CoFs and, of course, the dungeon was contested and no one was anywhere on the map to un-contest it.

In my experience, you have no more PvE’ers than any other T4 server and above.

I don’t think many people run CoF by going to the map and then looking for a team. It is waaaaay faster to just use gw2lfg, form a team, and then the first person that has an uncontested WP starts the dungeon.

It’s immersion-breaking to use gw2lfg.com though. I find groups the old fashioned way still.

I like to RP as a matchmaking algorithm.

This would significantly reduce the effectiveness of small man roaming and havoc squads and force everyone to stay with the zerg, or get beat down by people with an artificial advantage.

I don’t trust words with two consecutive u’s.

The good thing about the new sytem is everyone gets to feel strong and weak depending on the week; but the inconsistency might make WVW non-competitive. It will make our beloved sport, a past time.

This is pretty much what I’m worried about. ANet didn’t think through the full effects of a system like this…

Before Curse, having a thief was viewed as a liability and it was difficult for even me to find a team even willing to try to play with a thief. Even I myself was questioning whether this experimental build that seems to do ok in hotjoins would even work.
Others even laughed at the idea of it being played in tournaments.

i have used double S/D with 30 into acro like months ago in PvE and WvW and several of my guild mates did too, perma evade builds existed long before the flank strike buff so yea…

Its been a long time coming, but I think we both need to hear this.

Do you remember how we met? On top of a pile of dead dolyaks? That was a magical night. There have been a lot of memories between then and now. We’ve had our ups and downs and we wouldn’t undo any of it.

But things have changed FA. Its not you, its us. We’ve grown apart and our relationship just doesn’t have that spark anymore. We’ve been hanging out with SoS and things have been nice. They’ll never replace you, but we need our space.

To put it frankly, I think we should see other servers. We need to get some time away from each other. Otherwise we’ll just end up old and bitter, like two angry pensioners in a nursing home shouting at each other about “2v1!” and “running away!”.

I think some space would be best for everyone. Cheers to what has been an epic bromance.

It’s not a nerf, it’s a bug fix. It wasn’t meant to change elevation and avoid obstacles.

Now that said, I would argue that all of the shortbow’s skills should be 1200 so the effective range of 5 in particular wasn’t awful.

Can you link the dev post that says teleports arent meant to change elevation or avoid obstacles? (portal says hi)

And every other skill other than Mesmer portal says hi back…

So either portal is bugged, or all other ports are. Still not seeing a dev post saying teleport should be restricted against elevation and obstacles

Mesmer Portal is mechanically different. the others aren’t. I’m sure they all use the same exact snippet of code.

Either mesmer portal can be changed to use the exact same snippet of code. Or shadow steps can be reworked to use the same snippe of code that mesmer portal uses.

The way siege works in this game is one of the things that differentiates it, and frankly makes it better, than the majority of similarly themed games that came before it.

People will complain about literally anything. ANYTHING.

Man, DB taking third place has to be hard to take for certain people there. I guess we will see just how resilient DB’s wvw community is or if it will suffer the same fate as KN.

Everyone has accepted this in T2 quite some time ago. I wonder if SoR’s response time is this slow in game as well.

I think once SOR is ticking 600+ 24/7 vs TC u’ll find out. SOR knows very well how easy it is to crush the morale of TC’s PVE’rs…..

And no, its not necessarily about skill, our coverage will ensure that when your NA prime forces meet ours, SOR’s already dominant NA will already be inside waypointed tier 3 keeps. Good luck with that…..

I guess, “coalition” was a bad word to use. I don’t mean you guys are literally sitting in TS3 together working together, I mean you could be, but I highly doubt it.

What I mean is all week FA and TC have been pushing DBL and EB leaving us to do nothing but defend, poorly. TC barely enters FABL and FA barely enters TCBL. And if they do, the most either take is a couple camps and maybe a tower.

While DBL is getting hit from FA on the east and TC on the west and EB is getting the same treatment.

Add all that to the fact that some of our key guilds/commanders not rolling out in full numbers, which is very evident and the fact that the forum warriors on here from DB painted a pretty large bulls-eye on DB’s back.

Oh, and lets not forget that for some reason DB pugs can’t be bothered to get into the community TS3 and get some kitten coordination running. I mean if TC and FA have the time to get in our TS3 and listen to where we’re going I can’t see why our own server can’t.
