My account has been restored after 3 days. However what initially started of as a ban for “inappropriate behaviour” then changed to “botting” has now been changed to “hacked”, yet nothing was taken from my account and I’m still in the same spot I was when I was banned. Don’t get me wrong though I am more than happy to have gotten my account back but it’s obvious that I wasn’t hacked my password was very strong, unique and different to my e-mail one and I also got no notifications that anyone was trying to access my account from a different IP, in light of this what prevents them from banning me again? I am afraid of going to Orr right now.

Glad to see one of the more active people in this topic to be unbanned. Still am waiting for help on my ticket regarding my “fraud” when directly buying off the official site. Very close to my 1 week ban now. And I’ve had the game only 2-3 days longer than that. xD;

They keys shouldn’t be different based on an operating system. In other words, buying it is buying an account not the game. If you already have the correct client you should be able to use the key you buy at amazon. <- Only a GW2 employee can say with 100% certainty though but I’m preeeeeeeeeetty sure you’ll be fine with the combination.

PS. How much does it cost to buy it at Amazon ?

The support system might be down at the moment by mistake since they are doing a maintenance on commerce system. It should be back in 1 hour and 15 mins. Try again at that time.

The maintenance is tomorrow not today.

As for the other comments. Do you get any error messages when trying to retrieve your password ? And if yes what does the error say ?

at least you have a reason, I do not even know the reason why I have been banned , only know error code 45:6:3:2114. -_-

It always shows a reason when you try logging in. Does it show banned due to an account issue ?

Seems to me that people wrongfully banned for botting are slowly getting their accounts restored, however everyone with the fraud issue seems to be stuck forever… In the last almost 20 pages only 1 person posted that his fraud issue got solved ? What’s going on ..

Nearing the 1 week ban pretty fast. and had the game for only 2-3 days longer than that. Ticket status is currently “RR” but haven’t had a response since it changed from closed to “RR”. Am going to bed soon. I just really hope they fix these issues soon for their own sake as well as mine. Cause the amount of complaints they are getting is gonna severely damage their image. People will think twice before joining when the word of these bans get out and it is slowly leaking to more social media etc >_<. ArenaNet really should stop their bannings for like a single day or two without notifying anyone about it (who cares if bots walk around for 2 days longer ..) and in those 2 days finish all the current issues/tickets instead of constantly banning more people which includes many innocent ones.

Oh well another day passed, maybe the moment of truth will be there tomorrow. Night all ^^

That’s not a response that’s the email ticket layout for some reason, guess it’s a bit buggy.

Still waiting on a response to my ticket again as well all we can do is stay patient, even though I’ve been banned for 90% of the time that I had the game… >_<

Doesn’t really matter where you bought it so it seems. I got banned for the same reason while buying it from the official guildwars2 website. So even though your code might be fraudulent it could very well be an error as well as many people that bought the game from the official site got banned as well due to a fraudulent code given by their own site.

All you can do right now is give them the information and wait. I’ve been banned for almost a week now, and I’ve only had this game for about 9 days. So patience is needed. Good luck !

I would like to look into the few cases where you, personally purchased the game from buy.guildwars2.com and then experienced an account closure.

I don’t want to hear from those who bought from a third party who claims to have purchased from our site. I don’t need to hear from people who did a charge-back or asked for a refund. I would very much like to hear from someone who bought the game from buy.guildwars2.com using a legitimate credit card and then found his/her account terminated.

This code was directly bought from your site by my bf , we started playing this game together and I have the confirmation email and everything if needed. He did not use a stolen credit card or file a chargeback. In fact everything was purchased legally and at the same time. I really don’t think you’ll be “stealing a credit card” in the Navy. I’d very much like to know how ArenaNet figures out that a creditcard is “stolen” no reports about it have been made whatsoever because the card was never stolen , it’s his own card..

What he payed for the account is price stated on your website because it was directly purchased from there. To be exact the email says $59.99. Not more, not less. This case can in no way be a fraud unless your own site is “fraudulent”. My “seller” is your website. I’ll update my ticket with additional information. But when I asked for elaboration on the case the GM Copy-pasted his last message. I very much hope the response will actually be read.

That’s very valuable information to have, and thank you for those details. The only thing I can think of is maybe there is some issue between the bank and our system that caused this. Thank you for your continued patience — I know this is frustrating, particularly since you did not commit fraud.

I should note that when I write “fraud” in my line items, I don’t mean “You are a fraudster!” I mean that there is a mark of fraud somewhere in the system: us, the bank, a third-party — the issue is flagged as fraud but we’re not making accusations, just getting the issue to the proper team for review.

Alright thank you for your time and elaboration, it’s good to finally get some responses and answers on short notice instead of waiting as long. It is quite frustrating to first wait several days for support and then basically being told that I’m permanently banned and have to buy a new account, while everything was perfectly legit and cost quite a lot of money.

Asking the GM team for elaboration on how my key was obtained fraudulently while it was purchased perfectly fine and legally from their own site , they simply copy-pasted their message that it was obtained fraudulently. I have never , ever in my life experienced this kind of support.

Gaile, I just got a response on my ticket saying my code was obtained fraudulently. This while it was directly purchased off your site. They say the buyer used stolen credentials ? My “buyer” would like to contact you guys, preferably through phone to set things straight. Is there any option for him to get in contact within a regular time frame because tickets don’t seem to be a reasonable tool to have a decent conversation. Please let me know,

PS : Asking for elaboration got me a copy-paste message from the same GM. Where on earth is the service ?

Hi guys! good news and bad news ! My ticket just got a response which is the good news ! They are checking tickets ! However they are claiming my serial key is fraudulent while it was directly purchased from their own site http://buy.guildwars2.com. Seems like I’ll be stuck with this issue for quite a bit longer.

Good news, they must be working weekends, my ticket number was 121109-000560 and I was restored today. When I logged in I had mail from a gold farmer and they were spamming the chat boards non stop in lions arch. I personally think what may have happened is [out on a limb] hackers may have compromised a large number of passwords and the teams quarantined as many of those accounts as possible. That may or may not be correct, but it makes more sense than being banned for botting when you are innocent. Be patient folks, it seems like they are trying hard despite the fact you can’t see that. I was out for just over two days, and it was a sad time for me. I’m going to have to look into get that authenticater today when I get back on. God Speed Tyrians

UPDATE: ACCOUNT RESTORED!

After close to 64 hours of being permanently banned, the status of my account was changed to ‘Hacked Account’ and then a few minutes later it was changed to ‘Access Restored’.

Support wrote that my account had been hacked and being used for botting. Then it was caught in the Bot Sweep and terminated. If that’s what really went down, I’ll probably never know… but I AM glad to have my account back.

Best of luck to everyone else suffering from this issue, I hope you all get your accounts back ASAP.

Had the same thing retek + a confirmation that my info was received yesterday. Been waiting since then without a response. Soon going into my fourth ticket day. Counting those 4 days I’ve had the game for 7 days ! YAY. Total played time so far is about 6 hours before my account got banned because of “Account Issues”. Great start ._.

Been waiting for almost 3 days for my issue to get solved as well. But seeing that the amount of people getting banned is still adding up immensely surprises me. When you notice that your bans are completely screwing up and stop the bans for a single day. Put all forces on solving the current banning issues and then reinstate banning people. Cause in all honesty it is overly obvious that something is going wrong with the bans. So stop doing what you’re doing at this moment and solve the current issues first. I’m pretty sure everyone experiencing this problem atm prefers being able to play with bots around instead of being randomly banned when they try to prevent bots. I’ve personally been banned for “account issues” which I really don’t get but I’m still awaiting the solution to my problem.
