Damage modifying Traits and Conditions

Nothing was mentioned about this in the recent blog. Currently it is the second big disadvantage condition damage has along with the issue with vulnerability.

Will condition modifying traits finally influence condition damage?

I guess since we’ve gotten a little off topic, We don’t know and can only make observations for now.

I do hope +% damage traits and sigils will work for condition damage too.

I think it is possible, since they did say Vunrability will now effect condition damage. So they should already have the stuff worked out for % damage. Would be very nice if it also applied on traits and sigils.

Will There Be Any New Emotes?

From another of my posts.

Personally I would LOVE to see more Animations and Emotes. I know this is not a small addition either since it takes a lot of effort (Hell I’d be willing to pay for an animation package on the gem store.) Adding Ability to sit in chairs and not look like you’re a wizard with the ability to phase through a table. character hang gestures and mouth movement when using /s. Class specific dances (like from Guild wars 1!) and so much more.
This is kinda just a wishlist for a person who enjoys Roleplaying, but I can still hope!

I’m Sorry that Auto Targeting will not target who you specifically are looking to target and are force to move your mouse to click them. Or you could just Tab through targets.

Ades’ is kind of right though, It would screw over every ranged profession and would be a major rework of something that (in my opinion) Already works.

There are already traits like that. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Poison_Master for example.

Actually the biggest problem would be the fact that condition damage does nothing against objects. :/

I think they’re going to keep that on purpose so that Phy damage will still have a huge influence for taking down objects. Or least I hope, because bleeding a fence (while would be funny as hell) is not practical.

yet, beeding a earth elemental is completely practical…

You just made my day, because I completely forgot about that. xD

I guess it’s kinda the logic Anet follows to make people able to have variety

‘Is it a creature? Conditions can damage, if not then it will not be effected.’

Or something like that.

That I understand, while it’s hard to tell if the changes are going to ruin things as they are or make them better is one hell of a debate since we have such little information to work off of.

Granted since they did say the changes will come into effect before HoT release, The Team will get the players feedback. Kinda hard to judge something that we have not actually gotten our hands on to see what works or not. I do hope that they had new variations of builds but also still keep previous ones viable.

I’m sorry if this sounds rude, but you’re just saying that you’re not looking forward to change since it will ruin your build…That is kind of a close minded thing. With change comes new and probably equally as powerful and possibly more fun opportunity. I Look forward to the change in brings, new things to do and new things to figure out…not just slide by using the same build that has been meta for years…

Another thing to try is just go around maps and every so often just ask “Does anyone know of any guilds that do RP?” It’s good to ask before world bosses and and stuff since tons of people and guilds show up.

Found my guild like this, maybe i got lucky but best RP guild I have found and lovely community! Sadly cant be much more help since on US servers.

Good Luck!

Never actually seen this and might not be much help, but ill try and suggest something.

What I would try to do is just mess around randomly in a safe area and just try and mimic what you usually do when it happens. Keys you press, movements and even try the keys next to ones you use. Try and find what triggers the chat box to be selected. I would hope that its a key that maybe is being pressed and not a bug. Maybe go through your key binds and double check them all? I’m not completely sure. Another thing to try while doing that is maybe recording. If it IS a bug a recording of how it’s happening or just when it is happening could help the Dev team fix it.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Cool Thief Rifle Spec idea

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Do you not think thief range has enough condi?
I’m hoping that (if it is a rifle), we get a power based single target auto attack, as thieves lack this (and this is especially for newer content, like SW bosses).
Pistols apply (currently strong – bleeds) condis and do weak damage. Single target, can trait to multiple.
Daggers apply (currently weaker) condis (in relation to PvE – poison, torment) and do strong damage. Cleaves.

Sword does straight damage to 3 nearby enemies
SB does straight damage on autoattack to enemies near each other, condis on other attacks

I would like to see more single target stuff- having something that is balanced with multitargets/ cleaves in mind makes single targets, such as champs, feel like a drop in DPS

I kinda agree and feel like this is more likely, although I think both would be pretty fun, just kinda rooting for single target rifle.

Condi damage rifle could be very good if you take into account the new DoT’s, but I feel it is unlikely kind of due to pistol and daggers already having bleed/vun and then our already heft amount of poisons.

Phys rifle does seem more likely though. Either way though I just think the weapon would fit the class so well and be amazingly fun to use.

As a side note, I kind of hope we get a leap, be it utility or on a skill (Kinda hope utility.) It’s kinda sad that I want it just to jump on buildings when screwing around o.o

Terror and Deathly Chill will just have to go

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Infenso.6329

I’m kind of curious if Reaper would turn the Chilled/ Feared into a kind of special case. In their post they did say that only damaging of effects would stack…So would that mean if multiple reapers chilling a foe would stack chilled as a DoT on the foe? Or maybe I am misreading the trait. “Chill deals damage, with additional damage to foes below the health threshold.” From reading that I kind of think it would just make it a one time damage effect, so no matter what Reaper chills a foe, they just get the damage and no stack?

Kind of just speculation, probably have no Idea what i’m going on about

“As previously stated, we are only drastically increasing the stack cap for damaging conditions. The nondamaging conditions, such as vulnerability, will remain as they are since there is much tighter balance around their effects. As fun as 700 stacks of vulnerability would be, it might break a few things.”

Chilled and Fear are non damaging effects…hence they will not stack.
