You say you moved to not suffer the unfairness of the NA ladder… which was intended to be the global one. Yet by moving you join the EU ladder, that was supposed to (although not restricted to I agree) be a European ladder, and thus destroy the balance there.

If there was not enough players to balance the NA ladder, you really think there will be enough to balance the EU one ?

And here we go again with the fabled alliance… one can not rely on the length of a post to know if it’s a serious one anymore

VS players don’t play to lose. Switching server would only weaken Vizunah, which is already in a pretty bad state at the moment. If Vizunah was leading from afar, I would still have trouble believing it, but now ? Sheer day dreaming…

Well why is he not being killed by Desolation players, one of which is closer than any VS player, if Arborstone and Desolation are not allied ?

I guess Mesmers and Thieves imba, apart from that hard to tell ^^

Exactly, this is not about RUIN, this is not about Vizunah/Arborstone/Desolation.

This is about making a choice : A single ladder or an IP block. The system as it is doesn’t make sense, which I think is why so many threads end up like they do.

I agree that a clarification is required.
Block IPs maybe, or merge ladders, one way or the other, so the whole system makes sense.

The problem is wider : for WvW purpose, language specific servers shouldn’t have existed to begin with.
For PVE purpose on the other hand they have their place.

Now they exist in both. To make it “fair” ANet has then created two different ladders, so that these servs wouldn’t have to cope with different TZ and such.
But that’s not going to evolve that way.

At least that’s the way I see it… There was no point having DE/FR/ES servs for WvW to begin with.

Now as it has been said before, the way VS managed to win this week can’t be sustained for a long time. So they are trying to find a solution.

Yes an alliance seemed about right on paper. Although sadly – or fortunately, both opinions being valid – it didn’t last pas Saturday.

Now the issue is, according to DS players, they have been gang-banged buy those bad French, very bad French allying all week long, never attacking each other…

So yes, any mention of an alliance past Saturday underlines misunderstanding of basic WvW action.

Maybe you have no grasp on strategy whatsoever, but usually you’ll tag the supply camp before attacking the keep… so supplies will dry out faster, you know ?

I think ANet should give mesmers some the thief’s stealth abilities. Would just be normal I mean, the mesmer conjures an image of a wall, defenders walk by him => perfect RP !

In a parallel universe NA players complain about EU teams… oh wait it’s only in the other ladder

While I agree ANet probably didn’t create different ladders for nothing, I’m getting tired of the unfairness that FR/DE/ES can’t speak english… what about Singaporeans ? Italians ? Norwegians ? And so many more… ?
In fact everyone but English/American have a claim to unfairness ^^

I have seen strange things later in the week: Deso attacking some AS-owned Garrison outer watergate, VS group comes in, stops the small group of Deso-players and retreats. The gate was below 50% by that time. This retreat must be some kind of logic only understandable to french people.

Well I wasn’t there so can only imagine, but maybe VS players cleared DS to prevent them from earning too much points, but didn’t think they could take garrison and successfully defend it from both DS and AS afterwards. Lesser of two evils.

I wouldn’t say instantly and easily, but yes VS has a lot of player ready to sacrifice a night (more so during holidays for sure) to ensure a win

If I sound like whining, I apologize since it was nowhere near my intention… as I said, to me those whining are mostly trolls, and do not reflect the majority of people in VS or AS, no more than those insulting French for… being French do reflect DS population (well at least I do hope so ^^)

So far VS seems so be holding pretty well, holiday helping for sure, I guess we’ll need more match ups to see if the Language specific servs are doomed to end up in bottom tiers as the OP suggests or not

Is there ? What about Blacktide, FSP ? Even DS, displeasing the trolls as it may.
3 national servs, 3 internationnals.

All there is to see is how the awesome result of DS will impact the rest of the ranking, from other NA team joining I mean

Well it’s not an EU server anymore, it’s a global one. The fact that maybe this is how things should turn out doesn’t change this, it’s a fact

Now for quite sometimes there has been numerous posts on these very forums asking anet to switch VS to NA – trolls all of them, probably even worse than those from VS complaining at this moment… Most people are not saying DS is a NA serv, but it is not an EU serv anymore either. It is something else now.

The fact that everyone had to recruit to reach the top except VS does mean something, maybe they are less dedicated, maybe the language barrier is a disadvantage… in that respect VS is indeed special.

Also, even if it is completely off topic, I think the fact that VS and AS are both fr servs actually destroyed their alliance rather than cementing it. French servs tend to enjoy beating each other way more than they enjoy beating someone else. SO your last point is shaky.

Now this topic has gone completely elsewhere than where it intended to go… I didn’t see it as yet another topic on VS vs DS vs AS… sad.

Well no they don’t, they can’t compete on a 24/7 basis… so it’s either accepting that they will end up in the bottom tier, which their competitive players don’t, or accept to not be communicating in their language anymore.

War is war, there is no sleeping mode. I’m on VS and I do have a problem with the actual set up because there is no logic at all in it. I wouldn’t have a problem with an IP limitation, some would. I wouldn’t have a problem with only international servs, some would.

In any case some people are going to be unhappy, what’s it gonna be ? Bottom tier ? IP limit ? Language specifics disappearing ?

Merging the ladders and deleting those language specific servers is a solution, it should have been the case since release IMO. That or an IP restriction.
At this moment, there is absolutely no point having 2 ladders, since the same players are competing on both.
