A bit about GC

Hey all Golden Company XIII is a Oceanic WvW guild . We use to be Sea as well but for now we are only Oceanic. We run roughly 25-30 at the moment. Just looking to add a few more consistent players to our roster. We have been running for a year now almost we formed back on Sanctum of Rall last April. Currently we are on Tarnished Coast. The player base is from a lot of countries. Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and America will be the majority. A lot of us have been running together for a very long time so we are very experienced. Our community is very friendly. We provide a relaxing but hardcore atmosphere to WvW. We also have a few Roamers/ havoc players during NA and SEA so we have things to do most of the time but the most action is Oceanic time.

Attitude

We don’t like trolling one of GC rules is you cannot post on forums with our guild tag. So we want people who just want to have fun and stay clear of drama. GC has no inner drama mostly due to the nature of the community we have been together so long. So if issues come up, they are dealt with easily and quickly. We do not condone cheating of any kind. if you are caught expect to be removed from GC we take pride in our WvW and respect our Opponents.

PvE

We do not mind what you do during off hours. PvE as a guild we only do Guild Missions for Ascended Trinkets etc.

Raid Times

We run all days minus Thursday as we take that off to do guild missions and relax.

What we require:

Need to be level 80 (looking mostly for experienced players ,however if new and willing to learn welcome to join)
TS3 and Mumble
Active Participation in Guild Raids
Use of Website
Willingness to adapt build
Commitment to Guild
Attendance of Theory Crafting night
Must be on TC/Transfer on your own
100% rep while in WvW

I know a lot of people have posted about the flame light armor that was removed today from the gemstore. As a consistent gamer I was only hoping that the buyers who brought it can keep the skin. As I know for a fact that I would like a gem refund, if I dont get to keep this exact skin. I’ve heard on a lot of cases, Anet don’t refund gems as the value changes etc. So to avoid any issues I ask that you just let the buyers keep the tier 3 fiery skin. Then when it updated just sell the new one to everyone else. This way anyone who did buy it is happy and no one will have to have a skin they don’t want.

Thanks Omen for proving you guys can only blob. Apart from WM I don’t think I will GvG you guys again from Blackgate. Your claims on our jumpers, were false. You can even ask Jang we have always been a respectful guild and we are honorable when it comes to jumpers. So yea have fun blobbing as you have proven that’s all you can do. Bring your shout spamming sideline guards and warriors open field. GC will always turn up every OC and SEA. So just so you know watch your back. As I will hunt you guys down off the bl. To any future guilds GvGing OMEN don’t bother as they won’t fight without thier heal spams from the sidelines.

I have to disagree. The reason why our community on SOR is so strong is because anyone can join our ts and we encourage people too. So I’m sure trying to ask Militia to join is still worth it. As we have a lot of talented non guild-ed players who fight with our major guilds. Guilds leaving on the other hand, has more to do with keeping their own communities alive. As someone who is ex AFS I can say we left to ignore burnout as one sea guild against the countless others was too difficult. So back then we left to fight in Tier 1 where we had plenty of allies and guilds to fight. In general I’m not too pleased with all the discredit to anyone who left SOS. However the same applies to anyone who is trying to belittle SOS. Just stop with it, its all in the past. Anyone who left is happy where they are. And everyone on SOS has done a fantastic job. So please ignore the trolls and respect everyone, old allies and new enemies. that being said I’m 100 % sure Kuora isn’t on SOR. All he does is troll and write comments for attention. This is actually the same with Stealth too. So please don’t take anything theses guys say to be anymore then one their own opinion.

Anyways its good to see SOS again and great to see you still leading Vox. You probably have no idea who I am, but I got AFS to support you when you started leading all thoses months ago. Also great to see FANG still going always loved to follow you guys in NA. By the way, is Fate still around haven’t seen or heard about Irenical in awhile.

Also Thanks to both SBI and SOS for the fights I keep hearing about ( currently on dial up speed so I can’t do anything). But my newer commanders are having a lot of fun and learning. I hope the fights have been fun for you guys too.

Ah yes, I forgot the issue of burn out… Thats something I forgot to address. Where as AFS was supporting SoS during sea time, that time slot was thankless (around the time when DB’s sea was intense and NNK fielded nearly 1.5 maps). Guilds do burn out when faced with the same old challenges, whether it be an uphill battle or having no challenge during their time slot. Thanks for adding to the conversation mate.

In any issue I’m not bashing your decision to leave, nor did I get mad when you folks were leaving all those months ago (As you remember I came to you to talk with you after that huge break up meeting). I’m just trying to understand / share my thoughts on why guilds leave servers. I’m happy friends are having fun in T1, Heck I advocated many of them to go to T1 due to their playstyle. But in response to keeping the community alive – we are trying, and its hard to do so when there are mutually exclusive playstyles – the fallout from it results in the community splitting and certain people going elsewhere. Asking militia to join TS is helpful, but when the majority of militia won’t do it, you can either be a) ok with it b) more encouraging to someday have them come over to TS or c) leave. I am of the b) category, but I know a recent group of Team Shatter (FRAG) moved to SoR under the pretense of c). I was sad to see them go, and I enjoyed rolling with them, but at the same time I will say that they are not bad for leaving, and SoS is not bad because they left.

Yea agreed if they don’t join not much can be done. But yea just a little disheartened how old allies treat each other. We only did what was best for our guilds. We should just respect and forget. However glad to see you are still around and commanding and I hope you are enjoying the fights too.

There’s obviously a little more to it than just sieging a lord’s room, in most defenses you are undermanned as almost no one ever assaults you with equal or inferior numbers. The real math of a solid defense is done with the individual defenders and the coordination of their commanders. If you have 30 uplevels defending against 50, you’re going to lose, if you have 30 well geared/specced seasoned WVWers in voice comm with their experienced and knowledgeable commander, your odds significantly improve. After awhile of being on a server it becomes clear which kind of WvWers are most prominent, this is why guilds move to different servers most of the time.

This is unfortunate – but we can’t force the militia to get on voice chat, and we can’t force them to follow our orders. At the same time its like you are saying these militia are bad at WvW, and that the “good” players are leaving. I disagree with your statement in principle, but in reality it is reasonable to say that a 30 group without coordination is going to lose vs the 50 group a good chunk of the time. The issue was that if ANET believed communication was critical to WvW they might have done a better job of giving access to communication tools – such as persistant map drawings or not text blocking or even providing some form of voice chat.

But back to why guilds leave servers – a guild leaves a server because of incompatible or mutually exclusive methods to carry out winning the game. If a guild is ok with not requiring everyone on voice chat then they will likely not leave a massive militia server like SoS. If a guild demands that everyone get on voice chat and militia will refuse to (there ARE valid reasons why completely based on lifestyle and playstyle) that guild will suffer feelings of mis-utilization.

And back to another issue – a guild does not prove they are “better” by being in a “better” ranked server. Their skill is still the same (subject to personal growth) regardless of the server they are on. Its just that their playstyle changes a bit to accommodate resources the “better” server provides for them.

Stealth no need to get aggressive. I’ll repeat this now the number are as followed. Song 20 max as they use a lot of portal tactics and I’m sure everyone here knows limit is 20. My guild and ocx combine run 20-25 most nights if only GC its about 15. Sahp are about 20-25. NYS is the largest at 30. These are our core numbers. Most nights Song and us are tagless so we stay true to thoses values. NYS and SAHP may get rallians add 5-10. Like wise this is true for any guild except ATM. All guilds max at 30. So please stop the fighting. Enjoy your individual fights and play the game. We have all survived in tier 1. And we give the best fights. So just play. Also I play oc and sea since GC runs both timezones. So you can trust my judgement on sors numbers. Anyways good fights so far keep it civil and see you all on the field.

P.s. thanks tarkus for confirming that troll. He is not trying to troll for any server. So please all report Manualbreathing and Manualbreathingx so we on sor and BG may play peacefully. And If this guy happens to try jq we can all deal with it.

Also Awe what was up with that 3rd floor SMC defense…. but all in all a fun night for GC and OCX. Also it was us you guys were fighting not NYS or SAHP they were on TC BL. And thanks to WvW from last Sunday the 25 of us had a lot of fun against you all. You guys are always fun to fight. Thanks all, good fights so far lets end this week on a good note.

Everyone had to do what they felt was right for their guilds and for their own quality of play.

Yea totally agreed, we left to keep our guilds going. And it is a game after all. but anyways I have had a lot of fun this week. GC and OCX have been running tagless like a numerous other guilds to even out fights and all. We have had a lot of fun against so many guilds from TC and SOS, BANE, TS, WvW and Awe to name a few. Also at Rooster I really don’t see why you are hostile to anyone who left SOS. I’m ex-AFS so we stuck it out until we hit tier 4. We tried everything to help SOS but nothing worked. So saying I hope that none of you comes back is uncalled for. So many guilds enjoyed SOS back in the day. We united so many players and it was a lot of fun. So please keep it civil let me keep my good memories of SOS. Thanks

I’m not being hostile to ex-SoS, i was replying to the many trolls claiming to be from SoS and leaving and then condascending us saying we’re extremely unorganized and we should run the server better.

I was trying to explain that those people had left they don’t need to now comment and give us “critism” on how to improve, and once they left great no need to dwell on the past.

So i was just addressing the trolls from SoR which you can see in the forums yourself.

Alright, I’m just saying not trying to dwell on the past and all. I enjoyed SOS. And I can’t speak for others so its just my opinion. I felt it was directed at me so I responded if not I’m sorry. But SOS is always improving slowly but surely so good luck to you all on SOS keep it up guys.

MERC didn’t “rally” the militia. They got everyone who was hardcore WvW in Oceanic together…then left.

Everyone who WvW’d everyday (with the exception of a dedicated, great few) left. The precious few who stayed, had to rebuild all timezones from scratch.

We have a lot of potential, and we know it; but you don’t just yank out a rug that big and expect it to change overnight.

U forgot Hire, lol, that was one of the funnest night i had in wvw for long time, DAT GRUB shall forever haunt our memories and we had a really good laugh when we eventually wiped to dat grub, PVE too hard.

Good to see some Old SOS friends mainly TS+pugs, dat blob u guys had in EB was nasty we had some really good engagements all night, keep bringing it all week guys its been a blast, that fight at the stairs at WC was awesome.

Thought I would shed some light on Golden Company X I I I [GC]. I am one of the Co-leaders of this new guild. This guild is made on Sor, from some ex-AFS commanders and members. We play during the Oceanic and Sea timezones. For now we are running with 12-15 players nightly. A shout out to all those guilds that run with us. HIRE, OCX, XPK, SAHP, SONG, NYS, IRON, KISS and anyone I’ve missed. To BG and JQ, glad to see such awesome fights. Keep them coming and lets all just have fun. Stay classy.
