Do you mean using 4 utility skills? or being able to equip multiple elites?
It would be nice if the TC page didn’t reset when you switched between tabs in the window too. Sometimes I buy a whole set of armor at once, and swap to the pickup tab to double check to make sure I don’t buy 2 of something. Right now that forces me to put in the search parameters again.
I never kill in the JPs
I just choose the most time-consuming missed jump location and push/pull them off.
When you can no longer rez from fully dead, this will be even more fun.
change SW to
shadow step your opponent to your place,
a reverse shadow step skill
i think it is cool
The problem being – it would then have all the same bugs as shadowstep, which means it wouldn’t change at all…
I would use black hair, but do not, mostly because it tends to make the hairstyle details impossible to see. To me, white isnt ‘super blonde’ or ‘magical’ or ‘anime,’ but simply a replacement for black that doesn’t make the character redhead or brunette.
I usually just short bow it up, signet of malice, and dagger storm in the middle of thier zerg.
Pretty much this. Always bring a shadowstep to get out of danger. If you aren’t gaining life from targets you’ll go down fast.
Bring venoms if you run a venomshare build, or shadow refuge and additional utilities otherwise.
Avoid signet of shadows. People should be passing around swiftness, and you have infiltrator’s arrow to keep up.
Go spend 15 minutes trying to not be hit rather than killing. Fight some ettins and kill them without losing any health. swim past some krait and don’t let them snare you, etc.
I levelled with d/d & sb, and always ran caltrops and shadow refuge. The last utility was often signet of shadows, shadowstep, blinding powder, or smoke screen.
Also, if you do find yourself getting knocked down… there are several abilities you can use while on your back. (steal, signet of shadows, etc)
The lack of “flow” is the first thing I noticed after the patch. This thread touches on the less obvious effects of the 4s reveal: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Feedback-from-the-Patch-Note
Showing names is pretty much a necessity in WvW to keep track of players, especially in larger fights. This leads to a very cluttered screen, though. I’d like to have a checkbox option that would abbreviate the server names. Instead of “<Server Name> assaulter [guild]” we could just see “<SN> assaulter [guild].” This may not seem like much, but on some of the longer names this would eliminate nearly half of the displayed text. While we’re at it, include a box for the guild tags too. I’d probably leave that one on, though.
Do you have to get all the baubles in 1 run, or just get all of them at some point?
If you leave shadow refuge while the dark field is still active it will also trigger revealed, even if you didn’t attack.
Just get a thief to stealth you by the champion’s (normal) chest.
The second one is on top of the building at the very southeast waypoint. I had a blast doing them as well!
As a GS/retaliation Guardian I personally don’t have issues with letting theives kill there self when they burst me. But most other classes do, you have to think why that is.
Other classes have issues with letting thieves kill themselves?
I just had a thought (and it didn’t hurt!) about how this might be related to camera positioning. I started an engineer recently and was having issues with the flamethrower. Basically, steering with the mouse was causing me to miss a lot of attacks. Letting go of the right mouse button when I used them caused this problem to mostly vanish.
I haven’t played with S/D in over a month… Is anyone familiar with this sort of issue and wouldn’t mind doing some testing? It might help people in the meantime.
An example from PvE is the Young Karka’s projectile attack. It is channeled long enough for a C&D and two dodges, at the end of which (with no stealth increases) you’re out of stealth and have been hit once or twice. Then they turn around because they’ve lost aggro. How do they track you with an attack, hit you after stealth breaks, and then suddenly forget you’re there?
I realize this doesn’t fully sync up with ranger pets or illusions, but I think at least something needs to change in the pet AI.
3. Culling magically goes away when you’re dead.
I would love a way to reuse an appearance of an item I already have without destroying it. I have 2 sets of armor and 4 daggers for use with different stat sets. I For expensive appearance item (say, T3 cultural armor), it is unlikely that someone would get two sets of it. When swapping to another stat set, the player is faced with either finding another appearance to go with or a very large expense (either buy another cultural armor or destroy your exotics). Right now I think almost everyone goes for the former.
To mitigate this:
A good addition to the gem store would be an item that could swap the appearance of two items. This could be paired with an item that removes upgrades from items or swaps upgrades between two items. Putting both of these features into one item might be confusing.
TAC is “The Assassin Clan,” Kynx’s guild on Ehmry Bay. Awesome idea though! I’ll peruse your forums for sure!
Shadow Arts 15 pt trait can’t be turned off, which means anyone with that many points in Shadow Arts cannot use the C/D -> steal combo. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s worth thinking about. Should stealth on steal remain (part of) a pickable trait?
I have 2 lvl 80 thieves due cosmetic issues as well.
It looks like this is going to be on Ehmry Bay. I’ll bug Knyx to update the OP.
I’ll have to check out the Godskull Kris and Wolfborn Daggers. Thanks guys! gw2db doesn’t help much with scale.
Go melee some ettins (southeast queensdale or southeast kessex, depending on your level) and fight them until you consistently kill them without getting hit. Their attacks are excessively obvious, so they are a great enemy to practice on.
I have never been a fan of large weapons, and favor the smaller graphics. What are some cool looking small daggers?
I’m looking for things roughly the size of the standard dagger (or smaller). Glimmerfang is a good example. The Krytan and Orrian daggers are not :P
Quaggan’s a piwate, Yarr!
Please replace all PC dialogue with “Quaggan’s a piwate! Yarr!”
At least you don’t craft near the guys talking about outhouses…
I’ve also had this happen. The sound is a pulsing ~200Hz tone. I’m also still able to hear non-GW2 sounds while this is playing.
This only occurs near massive amounts of spells.
This sounds fantastic – count me in as well. I can transfer wherever. I can be online for lunch (I’m at work) if anyone is around to invite. If not I’ll try to find you tonight.
