It really seems like wvw FC has been re-energized. More (so many more!) people, new names and exclamations on the channels about how much fun they are having.
Speaking personally, the culling patch has helped so much. No more death by invisible things!
It sounds like you enjoy or might enjoy guerilla style wvw. I think you might enjoy being on FC, though you will be on a server that is vastly outnumbered. Our success is usually tied to thinking on your feet and being canny, though we do get to have the occasional zergy brainless fun, too.
I have been playing wvw for less than a month, and it’s the first time ever that I’ve engaged in PVP. I tried it on FC and got hooked. I really enjoy being the underdog, and I have found the community to be excellent. There’s some drama and a few bad apples, but they are rare enough that they really do stand out.
Also I really like how generally speaking classy the players in Tier 8 tend to be. It’s unusual to see anyone doing the “jump on the corpse” or whatever.
I work 9-5 so am not sure how our server does during your playtime, I’ll let someone else answer that.
I’m not sure what you mean with “willing to have a leader fight by them”? That’s the norm for us.

I gotta work today, but I had a great time last night. Both SF and ET were in our BLs, and I had the pleasure of watching one clash between them during the time we still had our Garrison.
I still haven’t had too many encounters with ET otherwise, though we did have some very good fights last night. I don’t know where you guys picked up those numbers, but you should do it more often! It’s kind of refreshing. You do run away way too easily, though. I mean, we’re FC, not SF. C’mon now, middle brother.
I’ve intentionally gotten a bit more bold these days. I’m still a glass cannon with a glass jaw, but dying’s more an annoyance (I have to run back AGAIN? kittened repair goes up each time I swear) than anything else and I’ve had some great times being in the battle rather than at an ele safe distance. Plus it’s kind of fun to run after someone while shooting fireballs.

Personally I am all for us whacking on ET. We may not be able to be equal to SF, but we could at least make things even between us two.
In fact, when you get over the mental hangup about dying in WvW, it makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable and can lead to lots of fun and crazy things .
I definitely think this is true. On the other hand, if all you do is get killed with no looting for yourself, the repair cost can become a killer on its own. Running naked into the battlefield has a certain charm, but it tends to be over very fast.
Just earlier now I went over to the ET battlefield and watched SF take over an ET garrison (keep? tower? I don’t know, building) and then got spotted by SF. I thought about it for a moment, then just /sat down and got offed rather quickly. There was some mild amusement in it for me since I’m not sure they knew what to think.
Remember, ET/FC.

While the sentiment is appreciated, you shouldn’t feel the need to apologize on behalf of your server for the bad manners of another individual. Their actions reflect upon them and them alone.

Am too tired to type much, but I had the best fight so far tonight. It was freaking AWESOME. We got sieged by a small group of SF, maybe 1.5 of them vs 1 of us? We’d already gotten some defenses up preemptively, and it turned into a proper siege. It went on for a nice long time, they even built a catapult to take us down!
I haven’t gotten to enjoy myself like this for a long time. I want to thank all of the SFers and all of the FCs that were there tonight, what a fun time! I love the fierce tough nailbitey battles.
I think lag is getting more badges out of me than SF tonight. I may need to have word with my internet provider. I will try again in an hour.
I’m in wvw and having fun. It was a neat little siege at Bay, I wasn’t quite understanding people meant the Bay being attacked = the wall/gate south of it. Then SF hit the Bay proper. I got to play with an arrow cart, then fireballs, then got offed.
We had burning oil set up in the place, but I am not quite able to figure out the point of those, unless you have a group of people kindly lined up right by the door.
I like SF.
FCers, put down your hayforks and torches and listen. You can keep the bonfire going though, that is kind of cozy.
I started in WVW this Monday and have been doing it every day since. What struck me is that the majority of SF does not seem to bother with any of the “jump/dance on your corpse” stuff. I’ve not seen them do it to anyone else, and I only ever had it happen to me once, by someone in the KING guild.
Maybe my experience is the exception and they have actually been really jerky, but based on that and what I’ve seen from SFers here on the forums, and my encounters with Zen I like them.
I saw us in FC act like a bunch of jerks that way last night, though. Lots of the dance/jump on corpse stuff, a creepy incident of someone specifically doing it on the face of the deaddie. I saw nothing that would explain it. SFers had not done any exploiting or anything, (though they were making a surprising use of strategy for once rather than the mindless zerg thundercloud. Were you guys bored? Or were we that entertaining? ) It really soured my experience for a while. :/ It might just be that I’m from a different gaming culture, or am a “carebear” but I don’t see a reason why we can’t get along and have a fun time killing each other.
Yes, SF is dominating and gets more badges out of my corpse than ET ever has a chance to. On the flipside that means I also get more badges from SF. I think I’ve killed… two ETs? Out of my 48 badges so far.

I had a blast tonight! Some very fun battles. I joined up with a little Ferg zerg we briefly had going on. Got smacked down by SF at the end, and I was extremely amused. I managed to whisp out right at the moment of the poor guy trying to finish me off, and jumped off the cliff into the water! Then of course got killed. Y’all are stubborn.
Next, brief bit of daydreaming— that armor is what I’m wanting badges for. Mm Invader’s armor.
And finally, most fun surprise of the day. See the chat log? My buddies were doing the jumping puzzle, I was just hanging out. I’d seen an arrow go by and saw the red and… It was someone somehow familiar! So neat. We /bowed and each went on our merry way.

Cantur Soulfyre – Hey, so that’s you! I’ll have to keep an eye out for tags at this point, it looks like. But yeah, that was a great fun battle. I love sieging, both defending and assaulting. Even knocking on the gate amuses me. I feel like a really aggressive door to door salesman.
Zen – Excellent! I will try and keep an eye out for your guild tag & zapping. My tag is CRUX, and I’ve got the masquerade ballgown style skirt on so that might help. I’m usually either throwing fire or water around, or dead.
Also, man the golems are awesome! So fun to pilot. Next time they get offered I won’t hesitate.

Well, I had a great time tonight! I wore my new glasses as promised, though I was unable to verify if that made the SF crew take pity or not since everything else seemed to be twice as mad. cough Wolves, stalkers, high cliffs… I died from falling twice. You SFers better keep up here, now the whole landscape is apparently trying to gain its own points. Ow ow ow.
I wish we had had more commanders. I think Amzika was by her lonesome, so when she logged off just earlier afaik there was no other blue donut.
I had a great time playing with you SFers! There’s this one dude that is in guild DAD (couldn’t see what it stood for) that killed me once and then I got to kill him when they were sieging one of our thangs. So that was an amusing unexpected personal balance there.
Other than that my main quarrel is it’s hard to see what people look like. Also I had extreme lag at one point, couldn’t see anybody nor was anything playing other than the music. So my death there remains a mystery to me. :O

I have the worst memory, but I have a screenshot of you!) who actually gave me a freakin’ walkthrough, including parts of the map (quaggans etc) and how that works, and how to work with the siege weaponry and so on. I am quite pleased with myself as I got to operate one of those arrow shooting things and I think I nailed some peeps! There was one Necro in particular that I think I accidentally made a bit paranoid. I just aimed for you so much because your wells made a great practice target.

I vote for drunken kungkittenmaster siegerazer. Each beer makes him more powerful. His supporting team can throw beer at him to keep him going, the opposing ones can throw buckets of water to try and sober him up.

The instructions and overall feedback just through regular ol’ chat was great, and whenever I did get confused/lost/what the foo? I’d just look at the map and head for the nearest blue donut.

Zen – Thank you! Actually, that’s one thing I did find myself missing from WoW, of all things: the ability to interact more with the enemy. I miss /wave /nod etc for that more human touch. Maybe if I find myself one on one with an enemy I’ll try and throw in a quick /bow and we can be all samurai stylin’. Then explosions and stomps!
Also I wasn’t kidding about the glasses. And I’m wondering, do you mostly play your ele or your thief? There was one thief that did a fantastic job at being a total unpleasant sensation in the hindquarters. After dying for the 5th time I wanted to both buy him/her a beer and smack him. Great job! Argh, so many repairs.
pulsecodesgnl – PVDoor? I was thinking on that second part of my evening when there was only 10 of us FCers that the other guys must be extremely bored. I mean you could almost hear the echo on our side. It wasn’t so much a lack of resistance as a kind of creepy haunted house vibe. I literally sought the bad guys out twice over just to see some activity!
