Yeah, same problem for me. Since the patch on the 15th, my client crashes sporadically, regardless of my settings.
It made it extremely difficult to actually be able to do anything related to the event, because I would crash. Today, doing the Shatterer event, which normally takes about 5 minutes, I crashed 4 times. It’s a little ridiculous, it basically makes FoTM impossible to progress in, because I often crash before finishing a set of 3, and can’t rejoin.
I just want to parrot everyone in saying its been the best match up I’ve been part of since release.
I remember TC getting smashed by CD a few weeks back but the tables have turned, anybody from CD willing to share why they think this is so? I’m playing from Singapore so have a few friends playing on CD .. but when I ask them if it is due to server transfers they say no, that it is due to the breaking down of the Titan Alliance .. just curious is all if anybody wants to share.
Overall had a great time against YB and looking forward to playing against you guys next week too.
Hopefully the Lost Shores expansion doesn’t result in too many peeps staying away from WvW this week as was the case with the Halloween event!
We actually did lose some WvW guilds, and Synergy Alliance basically died. OES and Fang are the big guilds I know of that left, OES taking several good commanders with them to JQ. Also, there’s always the ones that just leave to go to whatever server beats them. Free transfers haven’t been nice to us.
Knockin’ yo’ campers off dat puzzle.
Nothing against you Crystal Deserters as a whole, but those who camp the puzzle? A finger-wag on you, sirs and ladies! I shan’t hesitate to bump you off again, should I find yet another such display of ungentlemanly conduct.
Yeah… I walked in there (I am from CD) and saw the STUPID amount of people camping there, with siege and all… it’s kind of depressing, actually. With the amount of people we had in there at one point, we could have actually been (gasp) ATTACKING SOMETHING. Otherwise this matchup was fun. We’re getting kicked back into T4 for a week, but we’ll be back. Hopefully (ahem) without the puzzle campers.
People seem to be missing something. Yes, right now servers with coverage have an advantage. However, it would be the EXACT same should the servers be merged into one ladder. EU servers win during their primetime, NA wins during theirs. Then, if one server has more coverage than the other, they win. It’s as simple as that, it wouldn’t change anything other than the fact that now NA vs EU is an option. Coverage still wins out.
Okay here is my point of view, I am a casual gamer and I try to get on everyday. While I do dungeon runs, WvW and general leveling of my main character and alts.
Doing all that has got me about 40g so far, plus and minus maybe 20g for expenses.
The T3 cultural armour is about 120g?
That means it is going to take me about half a year to buy t3 cultural armour for even one character. This is very expensive no matter who you are.
Now I do not farm btw, so yes people who buy gold and farm may post they got it in a day or something. However how are casual people who do not farm Orr meant to afford this equipment? Yes for the looks btw, it is only rare after all.Anyway simple put I would like the t3 cultural armour to come down in price in some way.
Now I have two solutions.
1) The price is at least halved. That might bring it down to a level that could allow casual players to eventually get it. Or bring it down even more, to say about 20g? I think this is plenty of money for some armour.
2) Use karma to buy it! This is what I would prefer. First the cultural weapons are bought with karma, when when I first went to a cultural armour vendor and found they sold for gold not karma I was disappointed. It feels like they put karma in the game and have not really made much of a use for it. Karma currently has 3 uses. The food supplies you get from karma vendors. Second the armour in game, which the only good level 80 armour you can get with karma is the God armour. However not only is this hard to get to the stats are odd, so it is not for everyone. Third weapons.
Now this might seem like a lot fo uses for karma but once you hit 80, it almost all drops away making karma worth a lot less.
So please allow us to use the karma, for which we need a use for, to buy cultural armour. Please!
None of this would be fair. At all, in any way. A ton of people already have the set, that they bought for the full 120g.
-Lowering the price of it now would rip them off completely, and then there will be complaints of that.
-It is also a major gold sink, with the prices that low a ton of money would remain in the economy, and that wouldn’t be good.
-Back to what I said before. Lower the price so that even the players who don’t work for their money and hardly play can get it would remove the armour’s uniqueness. If EVERYONE can run around in the armour and afford it before they’re even 80, there is no longer a point to actually having the armour at all. It’s SUPPOSED to be hard to get, to have that visual edge over someone else because you worked for it. Not because you were handed it on a platter.
I’m only level 59, haven’t had a chance to play for a few days and have 21g. If you’re that broke playing many hours a day you’re doing something wrong.
Biggest lie in this thread, especially because you purposely ignore the reason for the thread and give your non-sense 2 cents that doesn’t help anything.
The cultural prices are way way too high. No one is ever going to spend that much on a full set, which is why after months of playing this game I’ve yet to see ONE player in a full-cultural suit. Not ONE.
Uh. I’ve seen plenty (including on me). It isn’t too tough to make the money for it.
Also have some guildies with it, and almost every commander I’ve seen on my server has a set.
Also – the grind for gear in this game is for cosmetics. Not stats. If they lowered the price so that every casual player could get it without any issue, it wouldn’t be worth it, because you wouldn’t be unique. You would see absolutely everyone with it.
ANOTHER ALSO – Reading the thread over to check all the posts, I see people assuming that others with the set paid real money for gold to get it. I personally did not. Doing a couple dungeons a day and your regular T6 node runs (ori, etc.) is fairly profitable. It’s how I got it, at least.

Happened to my group as well. We were about to pull him into his final phase, no one was out of range (I was stabbing him in the legs) and he randomly reset, regenerated, and then immediately attacked us again.
I highly doubt they will nerf dungeons or the mobs in them (possibly Lupicus at some point, he’s silly)
I don’t see them nerf Lupi, he’s the only tough boss in the hardest dungeon we have, nerfing him would be a terrible mistake. It also would contradict their actions so far, since they pretty much locked him into his room so you can’t do him the “easy way” (I still think of it as the hard way since it takes more time and is linked to horrible repair costs) and pull him to the northern waypoint.
As a side note: I think the fixed the “invisible poison bolt bug” in the latest patch. We did path 1, 2 and 3 today and neither I nor one of my teammates got hit bit something that wasn’t there. Either we are just a bunch of lucky kittens or they really fixed it.
Good point. I forgot that they already locked him into that room to make him harder. I still haven’t managed to do him, even running with my guildies that I normally run with. But I’ll be kitten if we don’t keep trying him. (We try often. We get closer each and every time. ONE DAY LUPICUS. ONE DAY.)
I highly doubt they will nerf dungeons or the mobs in them (possibly Lupicus at some point, he’s silly) but I can’t see it happening to the others. Here’s why:
-It was stated that the story modes are do-able with randoms and won’t require much co-ordination to complete, and the explorable modes would require co-ordination, good teamwork, and they would be hard. The difficulty is even higher when you go in your first few times, don’t know the mechanics of any fight, don’t work together, etc.
-The “average” player can do a lot more than you’re giving credit for. They made the dungeons hard on purpose, so that you can’t just blow through it, no problem, with no one having the slightest clue about anything in the dungeon. If it was like that, dungeon gear wouldn’t mean anything.
-I mention the dungeon gear right above this. This gear is meant to be special, after all, the PvE in this is the grind for cosmetics. It’s to look cool. If absolutely every player could run around in full Orrian gear from Arah, there would be absolutely no point to doing it anymore, because you aren’t unique. Everyone has the gear, no one would have that special, cool look over anyone else.
Things others are saying are true. You DO need to practice to get good at them. Look at your spec, see what you need, adapt to the dungeon. You mentioned before that switching trait specs is too expensive. It’s 3s per at level 80, and hell, just mining orichalcum can make you 1.5g in half an hour.
Maybe once you get AC/CM down, and get good at them, you’ll enjoy doing them. Maybe you won’t. The thing is though, they don’t need to be nerfed. You just can’t give up if you’re having a hard time. Trust me, the first time I ran AC I got steamrolled. The same goes for CM. If you’re having issues with pugs, join a guild. There is a lot of great ones out there that run dungeons, and even if you grab four other guildies who haven’t done it before, work through it. Ask for suggestions from players experienced in that dungeon. TRY UNTIL YOU SUCCEED. Don’t attempt it only a few times, give up and then say that it needs to be nerfed because it’s “too hard”. Hell, PM me in game if you need to and I’ll help out.
TL;DR: Dungeons require work. Don’t just give up and then say its too hard and requires a nerf because people can’t do it. You aren’t giving yourself/other average players enough credit.
It’s good to see that it isn’t just a steamroll by the winning server like it normally is. All three are still in the fight and trying (Which is awesome for HoD after all those people jumped ship). Keep up the pressure, this is a fun match up.
I do wish they were all balanced equally. I don’t enjoy Hundred Blades being the only thing warriors do, because they think it’s the only thing that’s viable for damage. I wish each weapons play style actually made a difference to what each player would pick, but it doesn’t. Most thieves spam 2. Most warriors depend completely on Hundred Blades, etc. There is almost no variation in PvP games, because everyone is so predictable on what they use. It gets dull, when everyone builds the same, and all play the same.
Well almost all of the FX processors are Black Edition with unlocked multiplier… So why bother buying one if you are not going to overclock it^_^ when you O/C they perform quite well for what they worth tho
I also mention this game almost unplayable on Phenom II’s.
No it’s not… I’ve got AMD Phenom II x6 1055T which is not overclocked.
I get around 50-60 FPS all the time with almost everything maxed at 1920×1200 resolution.
EDIT:
50-60 FPS in PvE
30 FPS minimum in w3AMD Phenom II x6 1055T
nVidia GTX 550Ti
8 GB DDR3 1066 MhzOlder Phenom II’s
I run a Phenom II X4 965 BE. Not overclocked. The worst I’ve run into is in WvW, dropping to 30. Which is still completely playable in my books. The rest of the time I sit at 60 (VSync capped).
It has degraded to the point that now I can’t even get past a loading screen without getting error 7 or 3032. Before I could at least get into the game before I’d disconnect. Can’t even do that now.
Playing from Ontario, Canada. On Crystal Desert.
Been having this issue from day 1 of headstart access, tried everything. No luck. I have the ports opened, the game allowed through my firewall/AV, and have disabled both at times to try and play, still disconnect after a few minutes. Playing during the morning or early afternoon, I hardly disconnect, or I don’t at all. Seems that around 5-6EST and onwards, it’s 100% unplayable, because I disconnect when I attempt to do ANYTHING.
If it matters, I’ve tried playing while directly connected to my router with a cable, and I’ve tried playing on WiFi.
