Why are we not able to dye backpieces?
Would be great to see this implemented as a system. All of the titles earnt from event metas are useable by any character, so why not the skins as well?
Another good point made, titles are account wide, why not the meta achievement rewards as well?
A-net, so far this is seemingly like a pretty unanimous “yes”. Please take a look at this idea.
Causing a community split?
To clarify this, if someone spends x amount of hours in PvE grinding for a spiffy new item, then goes into heart of the mists to PvP and no longer has that item, for some people that is kind of a deal breaker. So whenever you get these types of items and it asks you “convert to pvp or not?” it’s almost as if they are saying PvPers stay in PvP, PvErs stay in PvE.
So true. I saw that in ways as people acted on dragon wings. Everyone wanted the Shaterer wings on both PvP and PvE and you have only one choice…
I converted mine to PvP since that’s where I spend most of my time, but hopping over into PvE land occasionally I do feel a bit…naked…without seeing them anymore, and can’t help but think “if only I had two”.
Totally agree with this, except the jet pack was a drop and can only be bought through the trading post so that wouldn’t work. As for fused gauntlets, shattered wings, other meta rewards, would be great!
Ah yea thats right its the gauntlets not the jetpack.
I hate having my karka shell, yellow flower, dragon wings, molten gloves, (etc etc) just collecting dust in my bank because I’ll never be sure which character I want to use them on.
Yes this is exactly the type of thing that should not be happening. If they’d just add them to the achievement rewards bank we could just get as many as we need and players wouldn’t have to feel like they are making a lifetime commitment to that one character that now has an amazing looking item, and instead can spread it to all of their alts.

No. Dragon wings (the account-bound ones) should be added to the achievement rewards bank, but not the buyable / sellable ones nor the jetpack. Things that you can freely buy and sell on the TP should never be made account-wide unlocks.
I do agree though, things that are given out as account-bound meta rewards should make use of the new account achievement bank. I see what you were going for with that last comment, but really? Causing a community split? Hardly.
Oh yea for sure, I was only talking about the shattered wings, not the buyable ones. I’m talking any of the items that you get as reward for completing the meta achievements.
…all should be added to our achievement rewards bank so we can withdrawal as many as we want when we want. This one time one only thing is a bit ridiculous and not only that, if we completed the meta achievements it only makes sense to add them along with our other achievement milestone items. Many people have alts that I’m sure they would love to have their karka shell, or their shattered wings and also, forcing people to choose between making the one time item PvE or PvP is the type of thing that keeps the community split.
(edited by Kugron.5128)
I really think that the meta achievement rewards, (dragon wings, karka shell, molten jetpack ect.) should be placed along with our avhievement rewards tab so that we can withdrawal them any time we want and are not limited to just one instance of the item.
Ok, well thank you for the explanation. Now my frustration is stemming from the way these types of items are implemented. We got one chance to get it over the course of the few weeks of the event, and would receive ONE instance of the item. Want another set for an alt? Too bad, want a set for PvE AND PvP? Too bad. One set, thats it.
It would be a lot easier if they just made it work similar to the achievement rewards, so we can just grab these items when we want them instead of this lifetime concrete choice that we have to make.
So after a day or so of patiently waiting I finally get a response saying that Anet is not able to retrieve items from deleted characters. So that’s it then? This is a serious flaw in the design of these one time, one instance limited time items is if something happens like this then oh well, screw all that crap you did to get it it’s gone now gg.
Now I’m wondering, if someone’s account gets hacked, and the characters deleted, what happens then? Would they really have the balls to say “Sorry tough luck, we can’t give you your stuff back”?
I earned the holographic shattered dragon wings and converted them to a pvp item. I recently decided to remake the character and stripped off all of his armor but forgot about the wings. I already deleted him, I’m wondering if there’s any way I can get the wings back?
Rockin all dragon weapons and helm with kodan shoulders and coat, orrian gloves, and flame legion boots.
Since there’s all this talk of implementing new skills and traits, could we maybe also see some new weapons?
Two handed axe please make it happen kthxbai.
Hman was the highest and was in the top 10 for a bit I think, but he rerolled to ele.
What exactly is the purpose of warriors in PvP at this point? What role are we meant to fill? Because the way it is right now, any role we can fill is performed exponentially better by every other class.
I just want one thing. I want to see if the devs can look us in the eye and honestly say with a straight face that this patch raised warriors up to the level of every other class
3,502 games played…..100% of them as warrior. I refuse to play anything else.
I’d personally like it so that our gap closers are not affected by chilled/crippled.
Open world PvP. One fun idea would be that guilds could go other servers and kill other server players.
Another way would be to randomly have the races of tyria declare war on each other. It could make an anouncement like “The asurans have grown weary of inferior races foolishness, asurans are now at war with everyone.” Suddenly all of your asuran friends are now red, hostiles that can kill you and you could kill them for the next few hours. Then it could say “The councils have united once more, a new treaty has been formed” and they can go back to normal.
This would never happen, as the PvE folks would complain about being forced into PvP but it would sure be hilarious. Also WvW could become chaotic. Imagine a zerg of charr and human following a sylvari commander and suddenly his name turns red lol.

I do the same thing for my warrior. My PvP set I went for a teeth and bones monster theme. On the PvE side I went for an Ice theme(still working on frostfang to match).
How elitist of you. “You didn’t play back when I used to play so your opinion is invalid.”
Nope, sure didn’t. It was also boring as kitten to watch.
I didn’t like Gw1.
I very much enjoy Gw2.
Come at me.
As a die hard warrior I must say, not having a two handed axe seems quite blasphemous.

- Unique skins
This x 1000.
Seriously wtf, the progression of rank points is a little absurd at 40-50 and it’s all just for skins from PvE that take less than a sliver of the effort to get in PvE. Getting flame legion gear in PvP requires rank 50 which takes months of nonstop grinding, meanwhile in PvE land you can get the same set in just a few days of dungeon running. Seems totally fair right?
And from the few insane souls that have pushed to 60, have discovered that at that level you get random T1 cultural. I’m sure they feel well rewarded, 6000+ games played for an armor set that takes about 10g to buy in PvE, outstanding.
I just have one question regarding rewards for pvp.
1. Are there any plans of adding new gear/weapons exclusive to pvp?
Right now we spend countless hours grinding through the meaningless rank system only to unlock skins that you can get in PvE for a sliver of the effort and time it takes to get it in PvP.
Example: Flame legion gear takes maybe a week tops to earn in PvE with dungeon tokens. In PvP it requires rank 50, which takes months of hardcore nonstop grinding.

The way I’m looking at it, I am proud to be one of the very few dedicated warrior players, and despite the overwhelmingly disappointing patch I will still be here. I feel your pain though, it feels like we are the neglected red-headed step children that noone wants on their team, and A-net doesn’t care about. It’s hell being the underdog.
Happy to help out a fellow warrior like yourself. Survey completed.
@pot
Warrior is an L2P issue, as is and as implied in SOTG. If Warrior is not cutting it for you you have 2 things that you can do:1.) Play an easy class and just admit that you’re not a good Warrior. If the only argument that you have is “HB is hard to land” or HB is the only viable build (Learn to play issues), then sorry you are not the authority on this class and you are not good enough to say anything. So stop talking about Warriors if you’re not good with Warriors.
2.) Stop hesitating to ask players who are BETTER than you for advice. People have made Warrior work. HB isn’t the only viable build for Warriors competitive play. Need proof?

Learn. To. Play. Stop talking when you didn’t even put effort or work.
If you haven’t done any of these, then sorry you are stupid and deserve to be shunned
Wow, way to dish out tons of judgement on the guy when all he literally said is that he was disappointed with the discussion about warriors. Honestly I was also disappointed, I have only every played warrior, love the class but I share in his disappointment. Make no mistake, I don’t think our class is abyssmal and needs reworked, it’s more of the fact that instead of hearing what the devs may have had planned for warriors or maybe mentioning some minor tweaks they may implement, it was twisted into another segment of “the PZ show”, and how everything they do defines the meta and how just because they had trouble against your longbow team means that warriors are 100% fine the way they are.
I second everything the OP said. Having a blast, this is a good change.
I used to, maybe I should sub-up again.
I give them until march to give us some real meaningful changes. If we get nothing by then, I think I may have to wash my hands clean of this game.
What is A-net’s stance on the viability of warriors? They stated in the first SotG that they know warriors need something, but weve seen nothing more than minor tooltip changes. What changes can we expect?
Jonathan made it very clear in the recent twitch stream that it is one TEAM vs. one TEAM. I’m not sure how he could have made it any clearer.
I agree with you to a point, getting into a team that you’re not familiar with yes I definitely see that being the stigma, but it really just comes down to how forgiving the team is. Personally, I think one of the biggest problems is the imbalance between the different weapons for all the classes.
Speaking of the warrior specifically, we have some weapons that are amazing and others that are argueably useless. The GS gives you two charges for mobility one of which also does amazing damage, and a channeled burst ability that can gib just about anyone not paying attention. The axe has one of the hardest hitting adrenal abilities with the best sustain damage on 1 spam. Then there’s the other weapons…
Sword – Almost forces the warrior into stacking condition damage for bleeds, which get stripped off constantly against any good team.
Hammer – Good luck making use of the CC against blinds, AoE stability, and enjoy being kited to death by any ranged profession. Also has an AoE knockback that forces you to stand stationary for 3/4 of a second giving your targets just enough time to move out of its range (lol)?
Mace – Almost seems slower than the hammer somehow, and suffers from the same problems as the hammer.
Warhorn – Speed buff…nothing else.
Rifle – All single target, has the most telegraphed adrenal ability in the game.
Longbow – …lol?
I’ve made my point and I know that all other classes have the exact same problem. I’d love it if A-net did a rework of the under-used weapons for every profession but given the gargantuan amount of time it’s taking them to fix the bugs that have been in since beta, I don’t see it happening.
I’m actually getting rather fond of Longbow in tPvP. Got to use it against PZ in paids last night on Khylo. Rather enjoyed myself.
Perhaps I’m not giving it enough credit then, I will admit I haven’t tried it since the increased velocity. I am a bit biased against rifle and LB as any ranged weapon on a warrior seems like blasphemy to me, but maybe I’m just old fashioned.

Well I don’t know what the OP’s reasons are but for me personally I like playing warrior, in every game I’ve played I always pick the warrior archtype. I hate ranged classes and I despise caster classes of any kind, I don’t like stealth, and guardians just aren’t for me. I only want to play warrior, so for now I’ll suffer through my one build meta in hopes that things improve.
Put me on the list. Warrior / Free Tournaments US
(edited by Kugron.5128)
I tried being unique, making my own builds and refusing 100b for the longest time. Sadly everytime I faced a team with half a brain cell my builds would get shut down in some way to where they had become seemingly useless. I had to pug tourneys for a long time and every group I entered expected me to be instagib 100b, as if there was no other alternative, and there really isn’t if you want to play against good teams. I refuse to play any other class, I love being a warrior, so for now I grit my teeth and force myself to play the only build that seems to have any measure of success.
Every patch I keep promising myself that A-net will eventually go over our other weapons (everything other than the GS – axe/shield meta) and give them some love and some tweaks to make them more viable, but they haven’t yet and it’s getting pretty frustrating.
I don’t agree that this takes skill out of the game. Opening inventory, double clicking to another weapon using an ability and then double click swap back to exploit the benefit of every other weapon in your arsenal was just clunky and defeated the purpose of having only two weapons to swap between. Weapons should be locked in just like traits are. Good change, I’m all for it.
