I’m also confused because all the interactions on the SBI forums are pretty much entirely respectful, and I’m not seeing any of this horrible conduct you are claiming on map/team chat or on TS.

It isn’t everyone. I could also point out several people who agree with me but are scared of repercussions and being called out publicly. I don’t play in the evenings, as I am either in school or traveling home. Then multiple hours of studying takes up more game time.

The people I am referencing, are on in the mornings. I can not stress this enough, those are the ones who have pushed me over my limit. Normally, I would not even given this a second’s notice. When I was reported for not following a commanders orders, and when people decided to follow me instead of a commander I was reported. There was no foul language, there was not any animosity towards anyone. I was simply reported and warned because I did not follow the commanders lead and thereby “detrimentally impeding on others game play” Notice the quotations What was the result? we took Garrison. Wow, such a negative consequence! I have even had guild members of certain commander(s) message me and complain. Why? are they just attempting to placate me? doubtful.

After all of that, I don’t care. I am out to do my own thing and I will rip every stupid commander mistake I witness in game chat period. When the morning crew gets wrecked by an inferior numbered force which usually happens. I will call out the tactics they used.

If they are just zerged into oblivion I don’t say anything because the siege isn’t powerful enough to hold back masses of players. I cant help to laugh at these blue icons who place siege right in LOS or in range of AE. There is no creativity, just a giant blueprint of failure.

Just to let everyone know, I play in the mornings before class. Around 8-11am CST US.

I have tried being a part of the solution. I have offered numerous alternatives in strategies being currently being used. SBI in the mornings (about 8am-11am CST) usually follows 1-3 of the same commanders and they are horrible so I avoid them if all possible. I cant tell you how much easier it is to get things done without the same failure of leadership, tactics and overall morale if you get away from them. We all know who they are, just cant call out names on Anet forums.

I am taking into account of the population difference, the fact that these same commanders will take a tower or keep. Not perform any type of sweep or preparations for defense, not run supplies to build siege for the inevitable counter attack. (which CD does with surprising reliability.) If the goal is to farm badges, this is your opportunity. During a keep defense, solo, as an engineer in about an hour I can farm 65-80 badges no, that is not much compared to running in a small group but it is worthwhile. I have hundreds of siege stored, just from farming badges. I would love to see YB/CD’s real non-politically correct opinion and open strategy on SBI.

Why? they know that we (SBI early morning) does not have experience to do these small measures that will prolong (not stop) CD and sometimes YB from overtaking us. Again, when you bring these things up. You are ignored, when it is during the process you get slammed for bringing it up. Demoralization, not so much. Aggravation that you try and tell people that X is coming, Y will happen and Z is the solution. SBI will just post the SBI Teamspeak info. Then you log into it, and they are talking about some farfetched crazy sequence of events that might happen if you stand on one leg and dance to. (slight exaggeration)

Hiding behind the population exodus is a poor excuse. It happened get over it. Adapt, improvise, overcome should be our motto; not “if you don’t listen to commander leave server” And I could post names and screenshots of all of this. Last time I did, I was hit with a warning. (cant call out anyone on forums)

SBI needs to be in Tier 5 or 6. We do not have the commanders outside of one (isolani) who can manage mass warfare.

The sheer volume of bad commanders is staggering. SBI can only compete with servers that we outnumber them. Every time someone poses a different strategy, you are met with ridicule and harassment. If you refuse to join the SBI team-speak server or make a comment about how you don’t like to join a chat, ridicule.

If you call someone out for hypocrisy and horrible tactics with colorful names, they report you.

If you call out someone who wants to just use the JP instead of actually helping, they report you

Voice your displeasure over getting rolled by a numerically inferior force, they call you a band wagoner and try to harass you to leave the server.

Lose one battle, “lets make havoc squads” Instead of “lets change our tactics and try again” This is against equal numbers. (no outmanned buff showing)

I could go on, but ANET is far to politically correct and wanting to cater to the weak minded for me to be truly honest.

Good commanders from bad ones? SBI has mostly bad ones.

The math in this game, works in theory but it will never work in practice due to the ability of the math to be manipulated.

The math should be based off of:
1) Number of people involved in WvW (by sorting accounts, not players)
2) Times of highest server concentration
3) Lowest amount of population sets the cap. (Server A 300 available, Server B 225, and Server C 100.) It should be 100 people.
4) Since the servers reset weekly, after 3 days if a server is 50k+ points down they should automatically get 25% boost to damage, Health, all rewards, and 25% discount on supplies needed for siege. OR, just add the benefit to the existing “outmanned” buff.
5) Ensure the Jumping Puzzle can not be accessed unless you are in the lead.

As a guardian, I will use bear to chase down a ele and knock him down. I also can use it to break away from a zerg that buttjams me. It works wonders.

How do you keep enjoying Engineer?

This kind of class imbalance in WvW is a bad sign.

I actually can’t remember a RvR style game that had an imbalance this bad. Though, to be fair, the ones I have played have been fairly mature, with imbalances ironed out.

Has anyone else, with experience in RvR games, seen an imbalance this bad?

That is simple, Dark Age of Camelot. I could go months and months about how imbalanced that game was handled. Now, the ex-mythic boys are handling a 3 way war in Elder Scrolls online…it mirrors DAoC.

Also, I believe the Anet developers have the same problem as Mythic Entertainment. They select and choose what forum posts and tests that they believe. This is coming from someone who was on the inside of balance discussions.

The scoring should be based (and capped) by the least amount available. If Server A and B have wanting to participate in WvW and Server C has 300, then the amount of Servers A and B should match Server C at 300 each. It also eliminates the Outmanned buff. Which does nothing to actually help being outmanned. What good is 33% experience when you are getting jammed up at 5-6:1 ratio?

This way, take the numbers element out of it. Then it relies on ‘tic-tacs’ and a bunch of people who have spent 100g on a blue arrow pointing over their heads.

The jumping puzzle:

In the middle of a hard fight, beating on the doors you will get this: “hay guise, ne mezmr near JP? I need it bad lolz”

Then…the spam begins, every thing in Chat, Team, Say everything. You say ignore it? then what happens when everyone else is telling him to shut it? Am I supposed to ignore everybody? I think I already have blocked close to 100 people. On SBI, that was 3/4 of the entire WvW population.

The jumping puzzle should be controlled by whoever controls their borderlands and have a majority overall score that is attained by the Eternal or other realms Borderlands.

WvW isnt for PvE completionist. Participate to reap the rewards, not ride the coattails of us who get throttled daily.

Gentlemen, the answer is simple for me. If I have to play and lose by 330k to SoR for one more week. I will simple uninstall the game and seek a refund.

Considering that I played another game with a 3 ‘realm’ mass combat system. I know what this new ranking will do if not implemented and monitored for score fixing cough SoR cough

It will alienate a large portion of the underpopulated servers which will most likely cause them to quit. This being such a new game, that will be the killer stroke because many people arent quite invested emotionally yet. This is a tricky business decision, I agree with so many others that at least a 3 day scoring system should be set up and every time the score resets an additional day should be added until 7 days. This way the fights can even out and gentle balance off, without such a steep dropoff.
