Normally I play Rifle / SD, in the last weeks I played around with alot of condition builds, sometimes more tankier sometimes more healer, somehow I always had the feeling I’m SO USELESS in a spvp match. The condition dmg is not what I hoped it was, I have to play piano on my keyboard to be at least on par with the other classes. I waste so much time consuming elexiers in order to do anything on the field. I tried 50% cond duration as well as 100% duration, the time it takes to kill an enemy is just too long. During this time not only does the enemy hit everythign he got into my face (so I need more hp/tough to compensate for that) but also his regeneration is reducing my condition tick dmg…. I’m not sure, I would LOVE to use the turrets again…but nowadays they are super broken Saw some other engis in some matches who used all turrets, joined them, it was fun to look, but it would have been more fun if those little bunnies were actually usefull

But the cond build, maybe I’m doing something wrong, not so sure, but it felt super weak compared to SD. Do I even need ANY crit at all in a proper condition build ?

As the title sais, you for sure just forgot to fix all overcharge modes of all turrets in your last patch. ALL are broken, but I’m sure you aware of that, has been just about a year now with turret stuff breaking more or less every 3 month and never worked 100%

At lvl 80 and especially in any kind of pvp, turrets go down when a critter accidently walks by them. They have the resistance of a lvl1 turret with 7-12000 hp, but each sneeze takes 50% of them, noone really needs to target them actively, they just die in any super weak aoe instantly. Overcharge not working is just one thing, makes them just more useless as they are already. I would LOVE TO PLAY A TURRET BUILD, but right now its just not possible… gave them all a testride in the mist just now, all ranges + overcharge + trait tested…. 50% they stop doing anything when starting the overcharge, 50% of the time they stop doing anything even after that too, its just sad

Since last patch every overcharge is in his own way bugged! Example:

Rifle Turret with +Turret Range Trait"
- Overcharge does NOT give 50% faster firing rate + it totally bugs (=does not shoot at all) when you click it in the “wrong” moment. Shoots up to ~1400ft.

Rifle Turret without “+Turret Range Trait”
If you activate overcharge it suddenly is able to shoot up to 1400 ft perfectly fine with overcharge and shoots correctly 50% faster like it should do WITH trait lol

Similiar broken behavior is also happening on the other 3 turrets. Please fix this, at least I would like to TRY to play a turret build in one year of GW2 with everything working.

It feels like everything turret related is again totally borked! Is noone even testing the changes you guys are making before releasing them? Its more than a YEAR now and I can’t remember a day where I wanted to go for a turret build and everything worked like it should.

Since last patch every overcharge is in his own way bugged!

Rifle Turret with +Turret Range Trait"

I would rather ask why ANet is blind to ignore the fact that EVERY sPvP match is lined up like:
6 Thiefs
4 Mesmer
3 Necros
1 other random class
me
, ofc 85% are on full berserker gear! mostly having at least one X in their name too …

Honestly, close to unplayable on weekends lol

lol just ran some spvp, tried it with heavy defence + turrets…. lets just say a mesmer phantom insta popped my turrets while swinging just randomly by them … hit me also for 3,5k ..a PHANTOM…
I wanted to laught, but then the thief kicked his 5k heartbannaa twice into me. Glad I took 2k toughness lol

Little hint, go for the electrical discharge, 20-30 pts into the tool traits and equip:
- medpack
- rifle turret
- wrench
- personal battering ram

Its like shooting 5 shots at once while the enemy cant do anything, permanently knocked back, rooted, slowed, crippled and the dmg numbers are amazing you will laught at the 41 seconds with that build.
I’m making other players lives miseable in spvp ..they are all dead in a 1vs1.. all! Most are lucky if they can fire more than 2 shots before beeing downed.

I love my engi, so dont get this wrong, but who had the bright idea to give us a downed skill which makes it easier for the enemy to finish us off in PVP by shortening their way towards us? When I look at thief or mesmer, where people have to really put some efforts into it to be able to finish them off, we have: you are down, you are dead lol. Skill 3 is nice, but 95% of the time it is not yet available because of its cooldown. Skill 2 gives us 1 second more time by putting the enemy on his back, but at the same time pulling him right into a finishing position.

same, the turrets are not shooting correctly, the overcharge skills dont do anything, also, the stupid turret explodes faster that before…not sure if that was only my impression but after the first overcharge my turret went boom without any enemy around

It costs me nearly 10 silver to go to lions ar*e and back once….. I agree on the waypoint + repair costs > than income.

They forced me (after 8 months wihtout any problems) to rename my char from “nippeltiger” to something else. I told myself, OK, maybe the pope saw my name and felt giggedy, so I’ll go along and use my usual old name for chars that I never had a problem with in 10 years of MMO history, “Nipp Graviton”. 48 hours later they ban me for 72hours.
So make sure to google your potential names, because their namecheck in the character creation loves bananas and they are also lazy as fluffy to inform you about what the problem was in the first place.

The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

I know there are limits what a gameengine can do but I have played WHO back in the old days, 400 vs 400 players breaking the server while fighting over a castle, every player was displayed…of course this was not coming without lag, but you were at least seeing the people you fought.
In GW2, it seems that you are not able to see more than ~60-70 people at a time, in a larger fight I’m only seeing the people around me, if there are 50 of my people near me, I nearly can’t see any enemy at all. Moving a bit to a side / towards an enemy or my ground moves a bit away or the main enemy force is running a bit further, players start popping up on my screen. Of course you are getting dmg from all the invisible enemies!
This is totally gamebreaking, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one experiencing this.

if you think that is our melee weapon, then try the crowbar….the range is about the distance your nose is reaching, misses 6 out of 10 hits and somehow feels like a totally handycapped warrior with a fluffy kitty as weapon

Oh before I forget it, why is it so kitten hard to add a “2-3 min slot reservation” ?? The moment you get kicked out of wvwvw (out of whatever reason) you can basikittenurn off your computer if you don’t plan to play another 2+ hours ….

Since 3 weeks I open the game and I’m unable to join ANY wvwvw area, I sometimes have to wait up to 3HOURS until something pops, which is mostly at the moment when the wvwvw round is over and everyone is already leaving.
Funny thing is also, exactly 5 min after you reset the server, I get a 24h dc from internet(nothing I can change on my end) and then I can again look 2+hours at a queued sign that is unable to tell me even the estimated time until I may join or place I’m currently stuck in.

It is just horrible to not beeing able to play WvWvW when gw2 is build around that part.

Back to waiting in line until I go to sleep. Nice job.

The only thing you can do is go rifle & flamethrower in spvp right now. Anyhting else is just a waste of the slot you are occupying. Elexier builds ? hahaha, yeah, ask the thief what he thinks about you beeing buffed or even better, throwing an elexier at him…
Turrets ? yeah right, nice things to NOT have, not only die they faster then a lvl1 rabbit in aoe, they are constantly rather shooting into a wall then into the enemy right next to it….besides, spvp is fast paced, what I need a non moving turret in there?
Really, so far I hoped to have one of the more flexible classes in the game, I accepted the higher skilllevel that is needed to play this class not only because I like the challenge, but seeing that there are only a maximum of lets say 2 viable builds (rifle, or flamethrower might stacking), just makes everything else useless. The skills just don’t respond infight, pressing bombs /even the BIG bomd/ often just does nothing, the big bomb just disappears without any dmg or boom. The flag in the church in spvp eats every ground-based-hot/dot/dmg/heal I shoot at it…it is just gone…

Stop forcing me to switch to another class, I like my little engi, but the way it is now, it iss just not fun anymore.

I haven’t played for a week now just to return now and seeing that it is worse than ever before!
sPvP on a weekend? No chance, it is a lagfest!
ElexierGun Skill 2 and 6 are basicly just two skills that are giving you a cooldown, BUT NOTHING ELSE! 2 misses 9 out of 10 shots, noone gets any buff nor criple. 6 just disappears in the ground or wall or whatever object it may hit.
Someone lowered the condition dmg lately? I haven’t played skilled on pistols + cond in a while, but after trying it out now I just want to scream, its LAUGHABLE, even the normal kits are more usefull.

Really, no idea what you guys were doing, but wvwvw is basicly not possible (up to 3h freaking waitingtime) and sPvP with its “nice and refreshing” 3 maps is boring as …guess what.

Yeah thanks Spotwyld, I tried it out, a bit different to play wiht basicly popping elexiers everything one comes off its cooldown, but WOW what a BLAST! I don’t have to switch kits anymore (just when someone tries to run away, rifle +2), might nicely stacked, finally doing the dmg the flamethrower should do in the first place.
Thanks, love the spec and it is working superb! Came just back from 4 wins in a row, all 1st place lol.

I guess that is the thing they will “fix” soon … no more might stacking then… I hope they make the rest of the kits more usefull & fix them when that time comes.

Don’t get me wrong, but the moment I switch from any other class(okok, warrior, mesmer and necro which I have played) to my beloved engi, I feel like playing with both my hands tied behind my back while beeing blindfolded.
I’m also not sure if it is because of that TERRIBLE LAG than occurs the moment a fight happens in sPvP (am I the only one experiencing that?). Every other player seem just to slot those 3 sigils, and spam the kitten out of button 1-5. I have to handle 4 toolbelt skills, switching between up to 3 turrets/kits and also have an eye open for my current boons as well as health and all the cooldowns on those slots. It is SO MUCH MORE work to get on the same “level” of usefullness in pvp as with other chars.
But what annoys me most is the fact that the moment I play FAST (= pressing buttons like a maniac and moving my character) it seems NOTHING HITS anymore! Rifle Nr4 , enemy is right next to me , boom, shot goes out, skill on cooldown, nothing hit. Flamethrower Nr 5, blindness, I think I have NEVER hit anyone with this uberuseless skill so far, they could basicly see the color of my engiunterwear, and still never got hit by Flamethower Nr5.
Same with a lot of other skills, the moment the pvp gets faster, nothing seems to hit proper.

Besides that, do the stubborn half broken Turrets benefit from anything like Power/condition at all?
Why is the flamethrower having so much issues with hitting anything If I’m not literally showing the pipe up someones “back” ?
Why is the battering ram NEVER hitting anything that moves ?

I saw someone arguing that a engi can have permanent swiftness active and + the 10% from equipping a healing kit it would be “so unbalanced”…really? I’m not sure if I should laugh or cry, what use are 3 tiny medpacks that each give avg 1000-1600hp and are on a 12sec (8s with traits) cooldown? Ask the permaspinning thief that hits with 3k-6k / second in a LARGE AE radius… but I can run faster away..right.

Most of the kits are half broken or not usable in sPvP, (I love the crowbar, but it is just useless..TINY range, no benefit from weapon stats).
I now slotted everything for n back, and I can’t seem to find any combination that is “good”. Power for rifle, conditions for pistol. It is playable, yes, but nothing special since we are not allowed to switch weapons either. Yes I know we got kits, but what kit is usefull in a fast paced pvp fight ?
ToolKit/Wrench= tiny range, weak dmg compared to everything else
Grenade = ask my Nr1 hammering finger while strafing, running, evading and trying to use all other skills/tools
FlameThrower = just under par with all other weapons, although I love it
ElexierGun = no CC, just some tiny conditions, weak dmg
Bombkit = god I love it, but the time it takes to drop a bomb and wait till it explodes, the fight is at a different spot IF it hits anything at all, also, all applied conditions are a bit short (1sec slow lol?) …why is the good old BIG bomb NOT working as Blast finisher anymore?!!?!?!?
What am I missing?
