I do not agree that the Soldier set attributes are the best in every case. There are many professions, different builds, different playstyles (one player RPs in the city, another one plays TA dungeon only, another one WvW in small group, another one plays zergs only). Find out the combination that works best for you.
Enjoying the battle as well!
My lowbie Thief had fun with groups of Gunnar Ranger bots in Centaur part of the borderlands.
I have a feeling that some facts need to be clarified in order to provide more insight.
1) The game offers certain mechanics called “Play now”. There is no need to verbally attack those who use it.
Once I’ve met a guy who have thought that using Castling in Chess is not fair. That was his vision on how to play Chess. No need to say he was not very good player, but he had his sense of How Chess should be played properly.
If Joe thinks the only way game should be played is running around naked using 1-skill only, that’s his idea. No need to enforce it on the others.
2) I did NOT attack any players who have mentioned that they are “duelling” unless I was attacked by one of them – that happened once only.
3) I am new to Guild Wars 2, playing from pre-purchase only. I have won second/third prizes in several PvP tournaments in World of Tanks, therefore I’m not new to online PvP. Personally I consider myself noob in every game, because I believe that’s the only way how to learn.
In short: if someone believes that he/she is free to tweak game options/mechanics/rules to fit their own Code of Conduct, they are free to do so. But let other players play their game as it is intended to be played.
For those who believe my intention was to ruin someone’s fun, please re-read points 1 and 2.
Best regards to Piken and Gunnar WAR veterans.
Burlok salutes you. Piken it is now.
I can fully understand their feelings, but I do not like the idea of using ingame mechanics of “Play Now” and getting verbal abuse.
Even more – if the battle is not 1 on 1 and some of the players do not even help their team.
In some games it gets people banned – I’ve worked for one popular project as moderator and we’ve banned lots of such players.
I’ve played bit of sPvP today. Usually I use “Play Now” button that allows me to join the battle immediately.
Today I was sent into few battles that had only one player on both sides. Some of these players have told me to go away in very rude manner.
My most shocking experience was autojoining 2 on 2 battle where there were people of the same guild from Vabbi server on both sides. These people did not help their teammates (me or another random on the other side) while standing nearby and watching.
Is that considered correct?
Screenshots were made, of course.
Magic Find has affected my loot.
One of my party members have looted The Crossing from the chest.
I have enjoyed the puzzle very much, thank you!
No need to put other players into it though.
I did not know about that and completed Mad King Clock Tower with my human female. Glad I did not know.
I am not happy with the amount of bugs still present. I cannot help my friends and I cannot enter the dungeon anymore.
I am happy to have faced the challenge alone and defeated Mad King solo. Took me 40 minutes.
I got into the instance alone, my group spawned elsewhere. I was able to defeat Mad King alone as Mesmer 80. Had green grind set on me, orange weapons. Died once due to fear, got into down state once, but was able to rise.
Rewards: one green warhorn, one tonic.
Experience: priceless.
I would like to support that idea. I’ve met Alastia Crow for the first time today and her outfit is definitely interesting!
Thank you very much for your responses!
Dear friends,
I would like to inquire if anyone felt nausea or seasickness during the CoE story mode. Due to constant screen shaking I felt certain uneasiness and when asked my party, it seems that one girl player had strong symptoms of seasickness.
Next question arose: is it possible to somehow turn off constant shaking of the screen during CoE story mode?
Thank you for your response!
Thief – insane amount of damage in too short time. Tanky or no tanky, you are gone, if he has CDs ready.
I love the quote about “so wut, grab a squad to kill Thief”.
Sure, sure, Sabbathius. Engineers are for sure much more difficult. Sure.
Now, back to the OP’s question. It depends on you. If you seek true micromanagement challenge and interesting choices where you can never have all the skills you need together, give it a try.
Just a word of warning. First steps would be real harsh. Be very careful and remember that properly equipped/playing warriors/thieves will try to kill you in 2-3 s. It’s upon you if they will be successful.
You can try few sPvP battles to find out what to expect.
As for the e-sport thing, most of the best players want balance, else the game is poor and will fail like WoW (as an e-sport).
As long-time e-sport WoT player (feel free to PM if you want more hall of fame/ladder details) I’d like to add that every company seeks profit first, balance second.
Nerfs are used to enforce people to grind/try/play other things instead of old trusty combos. Games are “evolving” non-stop and in 1-2 months you cannot recognize what it was you’ve played 1-2 months ago. Some people accept it as a challenge, some people feel it’s just obvious money/time sink.
Some people think it’s normal for MMORPGs. Some do not.
If you will survive leveling to level 40-50, you will find out that it is not so bad. Just do not expect to be true uberdamager or true tank or true healer. You are universal with many interesting choices to be made.
I’m sad to see yet another game being ruined by endless circle of buffs/nerfs based on whines.
Yeah because games are perfectly balanced upon release and require no changes…
Main part was “based on whines”.
Guide: Did you get facerolled by any profession or any build? Go on forums, bring up some friends with you, make great long thread with autobiographic and statistical “facts” about how something is overpowered while your profession/build is obviously underpowered although played by true e-sport gurus. Make your “enemies” nerfed. Be happy. Choose next target.
Watching it happen in GW2. Too soon for the new game. But we already had craft nerfs and loot nerfs, not speaking about karma and dungeon nerfs…
Sidenote: no, I’m not Phantasm-built Mesmer.
I’m sad to see yet another game being ruined by endless circle of buffs/nerfs based on whines. Naive me for hoping this one won’t do that. Will kill some more kitten on Thief.
I’d like to thank storyline developer who put that small dialog of a small girl telling me about Minotaur Spirit’s feelings towards how my fight with lifelong opponent will fare. No one else has noticed that Minotaur Spirit, only the girl. And he spoke only to her…
It reminded me of another great character of another great game who was the only one seeing and talking with Spirits or… Spirits talking through her.
Just minor detail, but really great idea. Thank you!
I can confirm both Cursed Shore skill challenges (maze and the ship at south-east) being bugged on Piken Square server for days.
Piken Square server, EU.
No NPC present.
