Stand down, you sonavagun! They ain’t even brought back Alpine yet! Maybe it will be so kitten now with HoT the map may not even matter. Remember, we bled over half a year during this kitten; least you could do is take one for the team and keep it shut for a month.

Anyway, I don’t think merging servers like this was the right thing to do. I’m not saying revert this change, but maybe we should all consider if it’s overall better now? Coz ANet sure don’t look like they are scrabbling for new hamsters.

Holy kitten DX 12. Yea, it’s utter crap that I have to downclock my GPU just to avoid GW2 crashes, and no amount of tweaking the settings makes the game run smooth either way. But GW2 has far bigger problems right now than how it looks and how it runs. The fact that they can’t be bothered to update the forum footer (right on this same page) should give you an idea of how concerned they might be with this.

And yeah, from what I know, this really would be too much work, so I’d excuse ANet for this one at least (if for nothing else!).

What with how all guilds but the largest are so kittened since HoT anyway, I actually wouldn’t mind this kind of final nail in the coffin of the game. In the spirit of making stupid and pointless decisions for six months straight, ANet might consider this suggestion seriously.

The problem is, that this marketing decision shows unfriendly attitude to old players, so it may work for the new players, but you will get a lot of old players, who bought the core game and feel cheated… the outfit is fine though, that could work – to show how much it would cost in your shop :p

Marketing decision. If there ever was an “unmarketing decision”, this is it right there. I wanna see the sad looks on their faces when sales figures were the opposite of their expectations. Of course they want to try and cover this up. Certainly our complaining isn’t helping either side any. But tell me why, oh why, should we bother to help a developer who gave us the finger?

If a game is good, it will sell itself without spending on marketing. If the game is kitten, no amount of hype and promises will hide that.

Really, a feature long overdue finally added, and ofc only in HoT. Whether “Press F to pick up loot” or “Auto-put loot directly in inventory” seems like one line of programming code to rewrite. Obviously they deliberately held off on doing this unless it become really necessary. Until now. Makes you wonder how HoT sales figures must look that they decided to “go out of their way” and put this in for players.

Personally, I’m so used to ANet’s kitten-click requirements, I barely care about the in/convenience. But this is yet another HoT marketing move so low & dirty you can’t ignore it.

It’s like a “Bone Us” for those who not just buy, but do it AHEAD of release of the """content""" that’s “surely” gonna be in it. OMG these forums are times more fun than the game itself right now. xD

I always hated EB but have been playing that mostly since the DBLs. I was hoping Alpine would be brought back with this reset. W.T.F.
On some servers DBLs have queues. Players are active. How is that an indication they are happy? Bring Alpine back, see if EB will have queues then.

I thought we were over this, and it was decided! They made some tweaks to DBLs last week. Big deal! kitten this kitten. No rotation. No compromise. Pure Alpine.

Bring them back, not tomorrow, not next month, not in another lifetime — kittening yesterday.

I used to pay to play my GW2 (meaning not just the initial $50). I understand that ANet needs to keep making more money. I understand that there are those that like everything in HoT, and that there are many others to whom it’s still worth $50 even if they don’t like everything in it. I ask, is the only way to get all people to pay money really by making superficial crap that’s so OP it just breaks the meta? Almost everyone runs an elite spec. These can hardly be called “elite” specs anymore — more like “default” specs. By now it must be obvious to anyone above 12, you don’t have a fighting chance if are not running one yourself (don’t talk to me about the occasional noobs that kill themselves in lava).

This is an MMO. Not just the game, but also the other players, is what I am here for. I would pay my fair share to have developers make new content for people who want that, but I do not want that content to be forced on me. Personally, I couldn’t care less about:
- “elite” specializations
- shinies, quests or stories
- mentor tags
- gliders
Again, I realize that many like all of these; I respect and admire that. But the amount of times all this has been shoved in my face like a carrot on a stick to try to suck $50 out of my wallet, has made me despise everything about HoT. This just doesn’t work that way on some people.

I want my GW2 back, and I know I won’t get that. But is proper balance then too much to ask for? If ANet can’t be bothered with this, then —
tldr get the elite specs out of PvP and WvW.
How hard is that? Don’t put in a competitive mode OP kitten locked behind $50. This is so low and cheap I wouldn’t compare it to a prostitute.

This game used to be about challenge and skill of overcoming it. Now it’s about OP mobs and even more broken classes. I will not have bought a game to be treated like kitten by some half would-be patch priced as a AAA title, that seems to rely on most people’s kindness to be forgiven for what it couldn’t become.

You have to be kittenting me. Patch notes say a lot of words. "Err, they must have put some great effort in this… ".
It’s missing a lot of stuff and with all the HoT changes (long overdue, I might add) it’s basically yet another kitten-you to all core players. ANet treats GW2 as if it’s something separate and inferior to HoT, whereas in reality it’s the other way around. How cheap can you get…

To those that don’t get it, “other” is quoted because HoT is not an expansion, let alone a triple-A one. It is only priced as such. What it really is is a pathetic excuse of a patch. If anything, HoT should be free, and GW2 should cost $50. How ironic.

You can call this an expansion, but it’s really just a bad patch with a pretentious price tag. I wouldn’t play it if ANet paid me to.

That would be a cute marketing gimmick: “HoT — it’s not as bad as you think!” ^^

I like SW too. But I guess I liked that long before HoT anyway. So, something positive about HoT… hmm, that’s a tough one. Oh yea, the maps are absolutely dazing. I almost forgot about those because of all the kitten that gets in the way of actually enjoying them.

New fractals weren’t advertised. Raids we knew would be delayed and that was to allow people to settle into the main content. That was a sensible decision imo.

Gliding in Tyria made more sense as a feature post-HoT and was part reactive to the popularity of it anyway.

I agree, Desert BL is breathtaking, full of complex possibilities. I’d definitely love to play some PvE on this map. But it’s not for WvW in GW2.

oh, plz don’t make em 100 gold. think of pve here too. 100 gold is nothing. if a noob like me got a commie tag for 300, you can too. i don’t always up my tag (especially on wvw), but when i do, i ask if anyone with more ap wants to take over. what with these HoT mentor tags, you can see how many clueless ppl aspire to be leaders. either that or just proud trolls.

a good commander is actually a team of people that make decisions of where the zerg should be – they don’t bark commands, they lead groups according to intel- with scouts keeping track of enemy groups, not only on center maps but on borders too

I know, right? Would of been great though to have access just to your elite spec without having to pay another $50, especially when you are forced to enjoy everything else in the Patch be fore you can use the traits.
