New Hall of Monuments

I think all Guild Wars players loved the Hall of Monuments in the EotN and in the end it actually rewarded players for Guild Wars 2.

Now after playing Guild Wars 2 for many hours I kinda miss the old Guild Wars feeling. I’m not gonna discuss all the things I miss but one of them is the old feeling for the Hall of Monuments.

I would really like to see a new Guild Wars 2 version of the Hall of Monuments so that my achievements will feel rewarded again. The current achievement system is just another achievement system while the Hall of Monuments system was something unique.

For example:
- 100% map completion is also rewarded in the HoM and not only for getting a part of the ‘legendary’ weapon.
- Some titles like ‘Dungeon Master’ will be portraited in the HoM with other titles.
- The ‘legendary’ weapon will be portraited in the HoM just like old GW exotics.

There are many many more things that could be portraited in the HoM but I just gave a few examples and YES for some reason I miss the title grinding. This doesn’t mean that ANet has to implement grinding, noooooo. But (for example) I did not mind grinding the sunspear title at all.

The Hall of Monuments in GW:EotN was something unique and very fun/rewarding and I would really like to see this in Guild Wars 2.

I would keep the WP as many as they are, but instead of a loading screen for traveling to WPs, I’d rather use a sort of flying transport which will take the character to the next WP

This is a very nice idea were I haven’t thought about. If ArenaNet doesn’t want to change the waypoint system this could be a very nice solution.

What also could be a solution is that you can only travel to a waypoint from a different waypoint so that the waypoint will make some sort of portal or will shoot some sort of beam when standing under it and then you will teleport to your desinated waypoint.

I think this would be a very nice idea but I still like my first idea better though

I agree that the waypoints are very easy to use and would save alot of time but even though Magi said it’s a mini Asura Gate doesn’t make it so. How do we suddenly dissapear and teleport to the waypoint without going in or using any device?

I have been playing alot of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 now and I think that the travel system should change.

Back in GW:EotN the Asura gates were introduced but not yet used. We had but one Asura gate which brought us to the Eye of the North. But because of the old school GW fast travel they didn’t start useing them either.

I remember watching one of the first GW2 trailer where they talking about how the world would be connected trough Asura Gates. I really liked this idea and started thinking about how they were gonna do this. What I thought they were gonna do was to have Asura Gates in the big cities (which they have) and let you walk or travel on a ground mount trough the world with Asura Gates being the only way to fast travel. This is also very much possible because the big cities are equally divided around the map.

But instead we get stupid waypoints and I think that waypoints remove the whole idea AND lore behind the Asura Gates and I find this a real disappointment. I think this also isn’t correct if you look at it lorewise.

This is only my oppinion and you might agree or disagree but what do you think?

Shadow step animation bug

Dear ArenaNet,

Whenever I use the skill “Shadow step” while I’m walking and I keep pressing W while using shadow step, my character bugs out and the walking animation dissapears but I am still moving forward. It will only stop if I go to another direction using A S or D.

It is a minor bug but even these little bugs can be a little annoying

thanks,
