I am looking forward to this update, these changes seems really meaningful, hope there will be new viable builds for tourneys. Rangers were op they had to be nerfed.

I don’t know why ppl have problems with this. You play soloQ and get matched with randoms together, lik in the old Random-Arena in GW1. If you want a perfect setup then build a team.

I don’t have a problem with this, i agree with you that a solo que is fun, because it is more unpredictible and more single-player skill based. I just wanted to say that it is not that easy to reroll for me and that an implementing of some kind of a pregame screen somewhere in the far future will be a nice thing.

Agree with you, i often duo queue with my brother, i am playing guardian and he is playing mesmer, so he makes a portal at close and i am holding mid, rest of pug can play what they want, but in a 90% cases they are roamers or ppl who are playing first time and dont know what to do, so they are just dying in fights and dont caping points, beacuse they think it is a deathmatch or what..

But i enjoy playing guardian, i dont have that feeling that i am forced to play this role, but still this is an issue and a i agree with ahuba, maybe some kind of a pre game screen would be nice, or maybe just a better tutorial for new players, so they will know, what roles are needed in a games and why are they important? Dunno if it can solve this problem..

1. Solo que / Duo que (should be top priority now!)
2. Better matchmaking (after implementing solo q, e.g. separate players to leagues, dont allow low ranked players to play with high ranks against a team full of high ranks, it is annoying when someone in the middle of a fight asks you, if we are winning or loosing..)
3. Less serious but i want it – Legendary weapons !

Well, they removed Spirit Watch because some people did not like it and whined. But there are other people that like Spirit Watch but don’t like Kyhlo. So it would only be fair also to remove Kyhlo.

Same for other maps.

Remove all the maps… or leave all the maps.

I think best solution would be if we just could chose the map we want to play(make different queues for each map).

My personal map ranking:

1. Temple of the Silent Storm [different buffs = more different locations you need to cover = more fun, less zerging]
(2. Spirit Watch) [could be improved a little bit]
3. Nifhel [I don’t like the NPCs and kill stealing… still a nice map and better than most of the others]
4. Kyhlo [Trebuchet is annoying and the mid clocktower area, but still playable]
5. Foefire [Too big, needs 8 vs. 8, too many idiots running to enemy lord at the beginning with no communication and letting others cap points, too many zerging in the big mid area – not fun… feels more like a deathmatch and I don’t like deathmatches]
6. Capricorn [don’t know… never played it that much because it isn’t in tournament… but underwater is crappy and there are crappy sharks.

I don’t need 4-6. So bring back Spirit Watch and remove Foefire and Kyhlo… or at least Foefire.

There is a reason, why was Spirit Watch removed from the rotation. Niflhel, Foefire and Kyhlo are in the game from the very start, so they are most stable and less buggy. Spirit Watch, as the newest map had and still has a lot of issues, like no orb spawning or capping points with orb without scoring it. I like Spirit Watch too but it is much worse then any other map now, except Capripopcorn..

The idea is not bad, but i think, to be fair, then the opposite team with 5 players should not get the win too, so the ratings of both teams stays equal. But playing a tPvP match knowing it is for nothing will make it boring and frustrating for the both teams then as we know these situations with 4vs5 are very common.

Better idea will be to immediatly find a replacement for the missing player or to kick both teams out of a starting match, so they can make a new roster.

My friend has the same problem. He was around rank 650 in the leaderboards when they started, i was around 850. The next day, he vanished from them suddenly. We play most games together, so we won and lost around the same number of games, but we have won a lot more games than we have lost. I’m rank 519 in leaderboards now, he is not even in top 1000. Is it not weird?

Don’t play tPvP if you are not playing PvP seriously. If you just want to get some laurels, play hot-joins please, while the matchmaking system is not working properly..

I already saw here on the forums very similar posts about 2v2 / 3v3 Arenas in the past too, so definitely a lot of ppl out there want this idea to be implemented to the game. Looking forward to Custom Arenas so we can see, if it works.

Nice find! It worked for me. I’ll see how it goes. The only issue I had was my ‘temp’ folder not showing up, but I followed the rest of the steps. So far no lag. I’ll keep ya posted.

I’m glad it helped you. The temp folder was not showing up, because there have to be a percent sign before and after the word ‘temp’, but somehow, the symbol is not showing in my post even after editing it.

So i logged in yesterday, in the evening, and was having huge lags in sPvP on all the maps, like every day last few weeks. I was trying to find a solution and unbelievably, it looks like i have fixed my lags finally. Sometimes i still get a lag, but it occurs maybe once in 10 minutes and the lag lasts for 3 secs maybe. So no more skill delays and 10 secs lags or even disconnects, the game is finally playable for me. I tried the game today, and still no lags.

I did these 5 steps:

1. Click the Start menu, then select Control Panel -> Click on Network and Sharing Center -> Click on your primary connection or Local Area Connection under ‘Active Networks’ -> Click the Properties button -> Click once on ‘Internet Protocol Version 4’ and click Properties -> Click the radio button ‘Use the following DNS server addresses:’ and type in the ‘Preferred DNS server’ field this adress: 208.67.222.222 and in the ‘Alternate DNS server’ field adress: 208.67.220.220 -> Click Ok

2. Click the Start menu -> In the search bar type ‘temp’ with a percent sign symbol before and after the word and without the apostrophes, and hit enter-> delete everything from the folder, skip what cant be deleted

3. Click the Start menu -> In the search bar type ‘prefetch’ and hit enter-> delete everything from the folder

4. Click the Start menu -> In the search bar type ‘cmd’ -> In search result RIGHT-click on cmd -> Select ‘Run As Administrator’ -> In the command window type ‘ipconfig /flushdns’, again without the apostrophes as everything what i wrote between them, and then hit enter -> Type ‘Exit’ and hit enter again

5. Download TCP Optimizer here -> http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php -> Once downloaded, RIGHT-click on the .exe file and Run As Administrator -> There are a lot of settings, if you want to play with it, you can, but i just hit in the ‘Choose settings:’ field ‘Optimal’ radio button -> Apply changes, reboot your PC.

Dont forget to empty your recycle bin.. !

Now just start GW2 and try it, i hope it will help at least any of you. Also i tried only sPvP, maybe it will help in WvW and dungeons too.. Give response after you try.

Edit: The lags are back so it was working only for a one day, but still, it seems better than it was..

Yes, you are right, my mistake.. I should check them all..

These players ariel mentioned are only NA players i think, as i play in EU and didn’t heard about them before.. As for EU the best one in my opinion is Lowell, he made a great guide on guildwars2guru.com page about how to play thief, various builds and tactics, and he is also streaming sometimes on twitch. I’m learning from him still..

I have started to having lags maybe 2 months ago, but it wasnt that bad as it is for last couple of days. I have tried every possible solution, changing ports and priority of the game, using game booster, contig, laetrix latency fix, changing home world, nothing helped me. Like you others already mentioned, i can play any other online mmorpg fine, without any lags or another issues. So it have to be gw2 problem, not my pc or network problem on my side. I’m having lags all day, not only during the prime time, but it is true that it became even worse in the late hours and the game is completly unplayable.

The interesting fact is, that when i was playing sPvP today, it was not lagging much on the maps Forest of Niflhel, Battle of Kyhlo and Raid on the Capricorn. The maps Legacy and Spirit Watch were lagging hard and the Temple of the Silent Storm was one huge lag from the begining to the end, sometimes with disconnect. I’m asking myself, why? But this is not common every day, some days different maps are playable and others are not.

So where is the problem? I want to play GW2, but i can’t now. And i’m worried that ANet will not find a solution for this very soon. I can not even recommend this game to any of my friends, because, what if they will buy it and will have the same issues as i and a ton of other people have?..

Yes, it would be so nice to have 2v2 arena matches. For me, its often very difficult to find a group of 5 players, as im not in a PvP guild and playing tourneys by myself or with just one friend is very frustrating, most of the time others in a group are beginners or rude guys with no respect, insulting you for everything, also if the mistakes are on their side. I hate it so much. It would be much easier to find ppl for 2v2 matches, with whom you can train and win. I really hope Anet will consider this and apply this cool idea into the game..
