Honestly , one thing i was trying to do is convince my friends who now prefer a more casual approach to play this game.
Right now , when someone asks me all i answer is that this game is the number 1 enemy of any casual.
Rubbish. Complete utter rubbish. I’m pretty casual. I work 9 hours a day, come home, have dinner, do the washing up, put the kids to bed, spend some time with my wife, and play a little GW2 in the evening. And it’s perfect for me.

I do mind that everything anyone would want from this event requires an absurd grind.
Not for me. What I wanted to get from this event was a shared experience, and to admire the decorations and have fun with my guildies and other random players, chow down on candy corn, and open trick or treat bags. Oh and participate in the scavenger hunt. None of that required a grind. What are you talking about?

Interesting. It makes sense since the fabric between the mists and our realm is known to be thin at Godslost Swamp (being the location for the entrances to the underworld 250 years ago). Wizard’s Fief… most interesting… perhaps a clue as to what is REALLY going on out there

But, the game is set in present day Tyria. How can it be an anachronism?

I agree, this is very awesome. It truly becomes a living breathing dynamic world which you are a part of, not something static and predictable where every detail can be looked up on a wiki. I am stupendously excited about this idea. I’ve noticed there are workers working on things. To be able to say “I remember when this was under construction” is really cool. I’ve noticed that the asura gates in Lion’s Arch that were under construction during BWEs and at launch have been finished and the workers packed up and gone home.
If I miss something, well, that’s GREAT! It means there’s so much stuff to do, and so many details that I can’t experience it all. This is a GOOD thing

I would like to see how much income the Black Lion Trading Company makes in listing and success fees, what their expendetures are, and how much is pure profit.
Now, I get that upkeep of pigeons would be quite expensive, plus a few would go missing from time to time. They probably have to be fed a very particular type of grain so they need to employ level 400 chefs. plus there’s training, insurance, and superannuation. The cost of teaching those pigeons to swim must be enormous. That’s the high level of quality of service we’re paying for. But with all the trading going on, at 15% a pop, I want to know just who is profiting from the war, and what that money is being spent on.

“1. Illumination.
That´s right a bright room means that your pupil will be small, thus focusing all the light coming to the eye into the macula which is the center of the retina which has the more color photo receptors In obscure environments your pupil is more open, and the light stimulates other photo receptors that don´t help in the color vision.
"
Does that imply we should play in darker or lighter environments? I’ve noticed that in GW2, more than any other game I’ve played, gives me sorer eyes. Is that because I’m more enganged and forget to blink?

Lovely post and story. I love the backstory as well.

I thought I had fixed it, but again, the Buy and Sell buttons are greyed out for me. Very frustrating

I had the problem with the Buy and Sell buttons greyed out. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but I got it working after I deleted local.dat AND ran GW2 as an admin. Doing both those things on their own didn’t seem to fix it, but after doing both those things together it worked. May be coincidence, but worth a try?

The ‘Buy’ and ‘Sell’ buttons remain greyed out for me, even when I have the money, and the items are available to sell or buy. It’s really strange, but I currently cannot use the TP AT ALL due to this issue. Does anyone have a workaround? It’s been like this for a couple of days for me
