Was wondering this. People often make fun of Warrior for being an “easy” class to play and master. But I fail to see how it’s any easier than most others: engineer kit swapping is simple, elem attunements is typically switching for a singular skill, rather than a wide swath of five, rangers literally just need to auto attack all day etc…

So, is it really a simple class, or are people just mad because they currently hold the chalice of most group viable.

So…. ranger damage is all auto attack?

I went with human because my gw1 character was a human.

Mine was an Assassin, so my only 80 is a Human Thief!

I know right! But man, the -only- armor I like for Charr is the Braham armor and the T3. Everything else just looks so… incredibly…. meeeehhhhhhhhh.

Norn though, just about everything looks fantastic.

I am simply tearing my hair out trying to settle on a race for my Warrior. I’ve gotten it down to either Norn or Charr, but simply can’t decide. I love the stories and lore for both (Though Charr comes ahead) and their racials (once again, Charr is a little ahead though), but man, Norn no doubt look better in armor.

So, how’d you decide?

I’ve been struggling as of late to pick up a new class. I know I want one, I just don’t know which. I currently have a lv 80 thief, and haven’t really played much of anything else.

I want some complexity with my class. Something that is difficult to master (easy to pick up is fine, being easy to pick up, like say, Warrior, doesn’t necessarily mean that it can’t have it’s difficult bits).

So, what would you say are the hardest and easiest to play classes, and why?

I don’t mean just for Medium armor either (since people often bring up the huge numbers of coats for medium armor), the armors in the game have FAR to many skirts and coats.

Heavy armor: Only two heavy armor leggings lack a skirt: (going by PvP locker name since there is no preview in the TP):
Heavy Plate
Plated

Medium Armor: Medium armor is in another direction, only two chest items lack a skirt or coat:
Leather (duelist for PvE)
Gem shop Krytan

Light Armor: Light armor has a staggering -two- choice for armor without a skirt, and it’s leg.
Embroidered
Gem Shop Profane

I mean, I get the reasoning: A-net has this nice little system where skirts move around nicely. But, to only have only TWO choices in each armor class that lack one? That’s horrible. I really have no desire to collect any more gear because I simply hate the skirt look. GW1 had oh so many options lacking skirts and coats, but in GW2, it’s on everything.

I even checked the cultural armors, and same thing: all skirts.

More proof that the TP just really needs a preview function.

Except the coat, the duelist set doesn’t have that skirt part to it, unless it’s male only.

The rest is duelist though, the sword is the whispers sword, the head… is some random mask (not duelist).

I really hate the severe lack of armors that don’t have skirts or coats to them. I almost didn’t keep at my Thief because of it: Only three armors out of the -entire medium armor selection- lack a skirt or coat (Duelist, Human T3, Krytan gem shop).

I’m not a cowboy, I’m not a pirate, I’m a dang Thief. Coats are detrimental.
