For a while I was thinking of something called the Centurion. Heavy armor mid hp with a focus on team play. The profession mechanic would be similar to necromancers, a bar that allows the player to enter Legion state upon activation. The Legion state skills are
1. Summons soldier
2. Commands soldier to shoot target
3. Commands soldier to hit target with rifle butt, 1 second daze
4. Commands soldier to heal you
Max 2 soldiers at a time, does not give a second health bar

(Note: this is heavily influenced by the charr blood legion storyline level 10 quest)

I can only speak for myself, but everyone I know of has no official alliance with anyone. However, it seems some people are bitter about the pop influx to ET that put them in second place over us, causing several to exclaim their dislike of ET and attempting to convince our Zerg to go to ET instead of EB

We are talking about your server as a whole. Majority of your server avoids SF. There is 3 servers on a tier for a reason they are supposed to all fight each other, not team up and jump the weakest.

We fight SF, we just can’t hold anything for more than 5minutes.

We are hugely outnumbered, but the FC and ET zergs have so many uplevelled players and inexperienced WvWers that they are relaxed fights.

Maybe the FC and ET vets should take a couple of weeks off WvW to powerlevel and gear these poor guys up. That’d get us out of your hair and prepare you for HoD or whomever. Just a thought

If you guys spent less time making T8 threads and more time playing GW2 you might actually improve your situation.

We tried every in-game option available, including going so far as to attempt an alliance between servers. Now that none of those worked, some of us decided to see if maybe the devs had some advice or were working on a fix. But now that we are here, we realized that the devs won’t respond to us, so we decided to make forum posts.

No, FC did attack first(this is coming from someone from FC) one of our commanders decided not to listen to all the other commanders advice (shocker) and took his guild to Zerg through ET BL

Calling all FC wvw players and especially major guild leaders. I am calling a server-wide council of wvw players to take place this Saturday in Lions Arch at 7pm Central.

The purposes of this meeting will be threefold:
1. Discuss tactics and strategies for surviving in this SF dominated world(not that I blame SF)
2. Set up server forums and voice comms to benefit all of our wvw players
3. Allow each guild to give a short speech about why new players should come to them

High tier players telling us to suck it up and move servers/fight harder have difficulty with the concept of server pride/being outnumbered 23/7

Ask on the forum which servers need NA/Oceanic players. There are many. For example, Maguuma needs Oceanic players. We’re in t4 only because a lot of NA players don’t want to be in T3 where we lose everything overnight.

Ever heard of this thing called server pride? It may be difficult to come by in the bandwagon network that is the upper tiers. Basically it means this: I do not care if I am the last person in FC, I will stay here and I will keep fighting.

You have lower numbers than SF, this is a fact, there’s no need to go overboard and claim the numbers are vastly in our favor. We’ve lost numbers as well with people transferring out of the tier or staying out of wvw due to boredom.

Honestly I think at this point its mostly morale. For the last two weeks outside of an instance or two, ET and FC gave up pretty quick. SF gets moved out of a keep or gets wiped, we keep throwing people at the gates until you break.

Lately it seems like we halt your zerg and they disappear from the map. I think this has a lot to do with our past as newer WvWers on our side assume we are going to get it back so they don’t mind running back after a death. I think on your side players are used to getting thrashed so they don’t even try again.

I think the numbers discussion should no longer be about how many we have active in wvw, but the crazy low amount of players you have.

In EB even when commanders aren’t on we still have a small group of 5 or so taking towers. It’s downright silly to cry about us having vast numbers when we only have 5 or 10 on the map. Is it out fault we had a few guys on being productive, or is it yours for having no group effort?

ET and FC gave up pretty quick? Don’t flatter yourselves on Sorrow’s Furnace too much.

We didn’t give up against two weeks of Sorrow’s Furnace, at least we of FC didn’t. Our numbers and coverage in week 3 and 4 were barely different from weeks 1 and 2, your server on the other hand increased its WvWvW showing massively, and we realized immediately we couldn’t match it equally no matter what.

But alas, I don’t despise Sorrow’s Furnace at all at this point, but you misunderstand. We didn’t give up to two weeks of Sorrow’s Furnace. We gave up after MONTHS of the Glicko 2 hell hole.

We of FC fought against Devona’s Rest and Kaineng who both had tier 5 numbers and in the NA prime time even dwarfed your server. We fought against them FOR MONTHS, with everything we had. We did not give up easy, we gave up hard. We fought harder than you can imagine, for longer than you can imagine against much worse things than SF has ever had to face for more than a single week. Tier 7-6 saw Devona’s Rest and Kaineng for a week each only, despite the fact that we have even less numbers than these servers in tier 7 according to most and saw them for months rather than the one week they did, and also had HIGHER SCORES against them than tier 7 did, and fought against them with everything we had for months, we fought them despite being so outclassed (Even more so than we are by SF) they couldn’t get scores like your server does against us up until the last 3 weeks with Kaineng, we had our borderland on almost a 24/7 lockdown defense with daily EB strikes and almost never lost our borderland outside Kaineng managing to night-cap it on very rare occasions. Think about the effort and coordination that took.

Us giving up, (which we haven’t really done, merely given up on trying to win.. we still show up in WvWvW and have fun here and there, surprisingly) was not against 2 weeks of Sorrows’ Furnace, it was giving up in the face of everything we’ve endured for the 3-4 months or so prior.

Yes this can all be frustrating, to become burned out from having to put out more effort than usual to hold objectives/take objectives. But look on the brightside from this whole experience. Use this time to hone a style your own: be if fast and very mobile guerrila forces, staunch and stubborn band of defenders who learn where to place untargetable siege/unique places for siege to defend.

I get burned out amd frustrated, but after a little break (this can help) it can help with the frustration and burned out feeling. But in the long run i take these many months of being outnumbered (from DR->KAIN->SF) [not complaining] it helped make me and those who tend to mob up around me when i roam/defend better skirmishers, and to help teach siege placement, and funny ways to use the flame ram for defense.

So in the end it can be annoying, but eventually you get back up and continue moving forward as playstyles evolve, and you can help train people.

Sidenote: tempted to join the vanguard, i love roaming, but i think its time to have squads running around

You are in luck! I have taken over the Vanguard after the old leadership jumped to BP(RIP Meilin and Rhulian) and I have turned it into the Vanguard Initiative [FCVG]. We are looking for squad members and leaders, as well as all wvwers to join the militia. Hail FC!

I do not normally complain about this game because I think it is fantastic andI understand that the glicko system has benefits, but it really makes us here in t8 into sad pandas. I do not like the fact that in order to get a new opponent I would have to help the enemy to leave and sacrifice my servers ability to ever leave this tier.

If you are from anet and you read this, please do not shrug it off.
In the meantime, I will go back to fighting the hopeless battle, wish me luck

Hey guys, I play on FC during 7to8 eastern, I just wanted to say keep up the good work, night capping(plus pop) is what screwed us over with Kain, and you guys are a big help

I really do not think he is accustomed to listening to anyone for advice/criticism, he is now the most well known player on FC, but that doesn’t mean that he is the best

What can I do?

I am a WvWer from FC in t8(that’s right t8 haters, I am back) I 80ed my main, and I learned a great deal of information about wvw from some more experienced players in my organization(shout out to Meilin Feigal and Rhulian/Tadsoul) learning this stuff has opened my eyes, and I realized that one of our most well known commanders either a) doesn’t know very much about wvw or b) chooses to be a complete idiot when in command. (What I want to know is, is there any way i can get peoples attention without a magical blue arrow?) Normally I would not have a problem with this, but

A) EVERYONE that is either new to WvW or is looking for something to do blindly follows him

B) he has only one tactic: Zerg randomly around the map, upgrade when there is no supply, and leave the tower with no defenses to easily be retaken

C) interferes with my ability to lead( I am not trying to whine) every time I get on and there are no commanders on, my main is semi well known enough to assume quasi leadership for awhile, but when I am in the middle of taking something, lo and behold, he magically appears and all the new/less experienced players go “ooh shiny” and follow him randomly.

I cannot remedy the situation by becoming a commander, as I am sitting pretty at 6g right now, with only 4/6 exos

This has probably been said, but a nerf for stealth is a nerf to the entire thief class, without it they are nothing

Yes, I am trying to recruit people, so are you. Also, I was trying to tell non T8 people not to make assumptions about our skill level based on scores, and not to tell us what we can and can’t do. I am sorry, but I lump SF into that category. I hope that at least some of your players respect us, and I definitely respect you guys, but after DR, Kain, and now SF, I am raring for a fight, and I find it a bit odd that people from higher tiers presume to tell us about ourselves without ever having been here

I have respect for both SF and ET, but frankly dude, SF doesn’t need anyone else, whereas FC and ET have the heart, just not the population.
