Well at the moment Champion mobs sometimes drop practically useless stuff as opposed to regular mobs who usually drop COMPLETELY useless stuff.
There seems to be a lot of market manipulation going around by very rich people with thousands of gold, so I have the following suggeions.
1) Make things you bought on the trading post temporaly account bound (say 24h) and make it impossible to sell old stocks (not account bound) of that item for the same duration.
2) If you sold an item make a cooldown on it until you can buy more of the item.
3) Add an extra 10% listing fee + 5% sale tax for items you previously bought on the trading post (lets say for the last week).
Oh dear. I’m so sorry I offended you Malediktus with my first reply to your post.
These suggestions are completely ridiculous…BECAUSE:
1. It makes no sense to “temporarily” account bound an item bought on the TP. What happens when you refine a bound item, you get a now bound mat? Why shouldn’t people be allowed to buy/sell/trade on the TP?
2. Make a cooldown on what? Selling an item? You want a cooldown for selling a log of wood? And what is the sense in making buying more logs of wood, negating the cooldown?
3. It appears the entire point of your thread is that you don’t want anyone to profit on the TP. Why? Because someone undercut you and you’re mad about it so you don’t want anyone else to be able to do so? There’s nothing wrong with reselling. Keeps the economy moving, grinding and pumping. If you can’t deal with it then just sell to the highest buyer or the merchant and move along.
None of these suggestions would hurt or nerf the rich sellers which is what you purport to want. They would only help the rich players by making the TP even more prohibitive for poorer players.

We’ve received a large amount of feedback about Legendaries becoming unreachable. This is actually a topic we’ve been tracking for quite some time. To ease your minds I am here to say that it’s something we’ve been watching and we’ve been listening to your feedback. You can expect to begin to see changes addressing the issue starting with our next build.
Now instead of a 0.0000000000000001% chance you’ll have a 0.000000000000001% of getting one.
Save Black Lion keys to open Black Lion chests during special seasonal/holiday events, when you have a chance to get extremely rare items. Don’t jump the gun though and wait to open them until event items have actually been implemented as chest drops.
I never revive naked players, they’re usually bots. I saw a good 20+ naked bots all dead in the same area once. Reported them. If I find an area with a lot of bots in it, I usually see if I can drag some large mobs or bosses to them.
The majority of the time in online games I pick male characters as I am a guy myself but it doesn’t bother me that other dudes play as female characters.
AWESOME. O____O
The only thing that really matters for time zone is what time you dailies reset. Of course, if you join a guild you’ll probably want to join one that shares a time zone close to yours.
I always come to the aid of others when they’re reasonably nearby and I have no qualms about taking a quick break to help someone with a quest, event or skill challenge.
After maxing out gold, rares, pve and pvp in GW1 pretty much all I did was do free runs, help newbs and give away gold.
Kill 1000 critters is a title
I’m 890/1000 now
. I believe the title is Indiscriminate killer
errrr wrong.
I’ve had over 1000 critters killed for a while now and no title. I think there are only 6-7 titles you can get in GW2 from pve without having played GW1
Correct, “Indiscriminate Slayer” is an Achievement (Tier 4/4) not a Title. It would be nice if it was a Title so everyone knew I had no qualms about killing little bunny rabbits.
Titles are anet’s version of the perpetually running hamster wheel, but it comes with a door. You’ll be working hard and it will be tough, but getting all of the things to get the title means that you are truly dedicated. Think of it like a legendary.
How is exploring the whole map, or reviving a thousand dead NPCs (which die in droves all the time, you can easily grind a repeating event that involves a bunch of NPCs for this) or spending X amount of money “Legendary”?
Agreed, there aren’t enough titles and the ones that are there aren’t very good.
And personally I would not care one bit if everyone that killed 1000 risen was able to get “Zhaitan’s Bane” as a title, or whatever.
Unlike a lot of people here, other people having things does not suddenly make them worthless to me.
Also, if all the slayer achievements had titles, you would probably not see the same one constantly anyway because there would actually be variety.
I would definitely be strutting around boasting my “Moa Slayer” title. :P
Sorry, but it basically sounds like you want ArenaNet to make titles more attainable. Titles should be challenging to get. I agree with “add more titles” but not “make titles easier to get”. In fact, I feel like everything in this game should be harder.
Aside from GW1 titles, there’s a handful of titles. Half of the whopping 7 PVE titles require to spend enormous amounts of money and basically the title you get just means that…you spend an enormous amount of money. That’s hardly a personal achievement when anyone can just drop cash on gems or shady gold sellers.
The PVP titles are practically all the same, only denoted by how long you’ve played PVP and half of those titles require you to drop a buttload of money on tournament tickets.
There’s very little flavor or diversity to the titles. Here, take a look for yourself:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Title
Agreed. I think Arenanet should take a leaf out of EQ2’s array of titles. So many you can earn whether from crafting, joining certain factions or killing x number of a certain mob and different tiers of titles too.
Yeah, EQ2 has a pretty diverse array of titles as well.
I can see why you guys would think that having a title for a lot of things is cool, but I think titles are good the way they are because if you have one you obviously accomplished something great.
Aside from the GW1 titles, there’s only a handful of GW2 titles which means every other player has pretty much the same handful of titles.
Why are they so stingy with titles in this game? Almost every completed tier should grant a title in my opinion.
And I’d think it would be a no-brainer that mastering a craft profession would grant you a title at least, i.e. get 400 on Chef, granted “Master Chef” title to proudly display.
Why do they practically grant more titles to GW1 players than they do to GW2 players?
I’m not saying take their titles away, I’m just saying why can’t we have some diversity and variety? Why can’t I be a “Grawl Slayer”, “Hunter Gatherer” or “Ascalon Explorer”? I’m not saying give a title for every single creature you kill but any time you max out an achievement tier, it should grant a title.
Some fellow players mentioned LOTRO which has a really fun title system and allows for a diverse range of titles.
Seriously…what gives?
Edit: Re-posted because I accidentally mentioned the company which makes this game in my last thread and apparently that’s not allowed on the forums run by the company I can’t name. Fixed it!
Hahaha, This is nothing. You guys want to see a customer & fanbase exploding with complaints. Go play Diablo 3 for a while and get off this forum.
Woah…settle down. No one is comparing GW2 to that steaming horse pile, Diablo 3. :P
What a week isn’t enough time to collect 9000 candy corns?
I gotta admit, I expect things like this from Korean F2P MMOs. This is a little ridiculous. Instead of a fun event for new, experienced and casual players alike they’ve pretty much turned it into an event where you have to pay 50 bucks just to get in the door.
Pay2Win?? More like…Pay2Skin!!!! Amirite? :P
I really liked the holiday events in Runes of Magic, a F2P MMORPG. While, they did have their own cash shop ridiculousness at least the holiday events were rewarding to new, experienced and casual players alike.
For example for Christmas, everyday you could 4 presents from under the tree and they would give random event items, usually consumable type boosts/potions/etc.
They had quests that could be done by anyone in a relatively reasonable amount of time with a reasonable amount of skill and craftables that didn’t require you to collect 600+ event items to craft something or claim a reward.
And that was a F2P game with a cash shop designed to drain your wallet!
I gotta say for GW2, this is kind of disappointing.
I’ll buy at least one other account to use as a spy. If you don’t think other people are doing this, you probably haven’t played much WvW.
Convincing argument. “Someone else is doing it, so I’ll uh…do it too.”
If you’re really have so little life that you’re buying multiple accounts to get a barely piddling “leg up” on the competition then…have at it.
I just got this game and I’d like to play with my friends but the world is full. Why did I wait until today to purchase this award-winning game you ask? Because when I tried to buy this game initially it said…“SOLD OUT” The digital edition…was sold out. I was like…you know what…screw this.
So anyway, bunch of pals have been talking it up lately so I figure what the hell and this time it’s…“WORLD FULL”. The fact that your entire account is tied to one single server vs. being able to create characters on different servers like other MMOs means, if they didn’t have free world switches right now you’d be totally boned. Your friends are all playing on another server? Oh well. Enjoy.
So until they fix these “full” issues they should have free world switches.
