So whenever i enter one of the major cities, there are people discussing the ‘fact’ that we wont be able to create sylvari characters once hot hits store shelves.
I honestly cant, under no circumsdtances imagine anet doing a thing like that.

So, aside from the trolls that just make up stuff as they go, where do people get that idea? Was there something a dev said that wasnt very cleverly worded, like the "better get a level 80 sylvari for the xpac’ and now people go crazy because they think "kitten, better get that saladman suited up in case I wont be able to create one once the xpac is there?

So, let’s Start this whole debate again.
Every now and then we get a new thread in the Forum of somebody complaining that eh is One of the ‘statistical Outliers’ of the RNG-System.
Chancen Are, you’re Not. Just because you do Tequatl Daily and didn’t get kitten in six months, while your friend did him for the first Time yesterday and Got a Hoard without Even knowing what it is, it doesnt mean That youre extremely unlucky. Not getting Hoard is the norm – if getting it was Part of the Routine we wouldnt Care any more. You are Not an outlier, the Chances are just very Slim. If we all who didn’t have a precursor or a Hoard or a Fractal Skin or whatever, were outliers, then the norm would be being an outlier. So, the norm is just ‘having Bad luck’.
We have to realise that our Accounts Arent cursed, but rather that it is just incredibly unlikely to get anything thats Worth a kitten .

So, how can we change the entire Concept?
Lets take, once again, teq and Teqs Hoard as an example.
Anet could increase the Drop Rates for hoards. But thats Not a real Solution to the Problem, unless were Talking about a signifikant increase of droprates. 5, 10, 20 pecent Chance to get a Hoard – Sounds Good now, doesnt it? Until you realize One Day that you are drowning in These Things. And ascended Weapons basically for free and in basically unlimited Supplies are Not the Way to go.
Scenario 2: add recipe Books for sunless Weapons, like they did. with the recipe Books for verata Weapons. Those Seem to have at least acceptable drop Rates in the silverwastes, and are Not too expensive on the tp . Mind you , we cant sell the Weapons and armor we made on the tp, but we can buy Materials and recipes, so there is still some work involved. You can now Not only get boxes with sunless Weapons, but you also have got. the Chance to get a recipe Book to make the Thing you want Yourself for some Money. That would be acceptable now, wouldnt it.
Now on to Scenario 3:
Tokens. The Good Kind of tokens. The ones that get stowed in your wallet. Like they should. Im Looking at you, Geodes and crests.
Every Time You finish Tequatl, you get, say, One ’Hardened Scale of the Sunless ’. Those can be traded in for goods at a merchant After Finishing the Event. I am honestly Not sure about the amount of scales you would Need for One Hoard… One hundred? Fifty? Thirty ? But still, this would be the Way to go. Imagine normal Dungeons with dungeonarmor and weapons being random drops at the end of a Run only. Would suck, but at least you could Run it over and over again.
Scenario 4: Pvp reward Track. Self explanatory.
