I tried this this morning and it worked pretty well. Definitely one of the few viable builds for PvP with the DH.
to emphasize this isn’t a problem for just guild leaders but officers or just motivated members of the guild as well. It makes it really hard to want to organize something for your guild when you can only communicate with them one at a time. If your guild leaders allow gold sellers rampant permissions to get away with this crap you need to find a new guild. It’s a choice to allow that behavior at that point.
The message board system would work best though because it could be easily cleaned and moderated by guild leaders and officers and allows the whole guild t communicate on common topics of conversation without all having to be online at the same time. Maybe they can put an interactable bulletin board at the guild halls in HoT.
Id one up this and wish that guilds had an in game message board they could post to and check. We already know the trading post is built on a browser so I feel like this could be implemented. Perhaps data storage is an issue?
I would love to see a series of high quality gw2 action figures. Also a graphic novel/comic run of the destiny’s edge story because I think the artwork for it would be amazing.
It really doesn’t bother me. Story wise Braham will probably become the first dragon hunter given his renewed relationship with his expert longbow wielding mother who will probably train him. Given the norn fascination with hunting and his mothers title as a dragon hunter, it actually makes a bit of sense.
Also, part of the purpose of specializations was to add a new play style to an existing set of tools your character already has. So if guardians just continued to guard things why bother with new weapons and skills at all? Why not stick to the ones you know?
Or, since they are not doing LW updates until the release of HoT, why not just rerun S1 for everybody, doing just 1 episode a week, in the build up to the HoT release. It would be a sort of “Last time, on Guild Wars 2…” to amp people for HoT. Do it in short durations, just 1 episode a week, and this also gives people holding on to boat loads of random trade items and currencies a chance to exchange in and clean up their bank.
The content is already built, it would just be a matter of rolling back the servers to the older maps.
Lastly, since its content that already happened, maybe aNet can find another ridiculous use for the sepia filter they developed in April
If the music folder isn’t there you just need to create a folder called “music” in the spot its supposed to be. If you google “silent mp3” you will find thousands of mp3 files that are completely silent for free. (legit sources, they are used a lot in sound editing). Just create a playlist with the silent mp3, and it will repeat it every time you get in combat without playing other tracks in between.
Few people know this but you can change the various music playlist in the game to anything you want rather easily with about 10 minutes time and a selection of mp3 files you like. Here’s an article how.
If you read a the motherboard manual cover to cover it will instruct you on everything you need to know without any surprises.
Thermal paste is like $10 and used for heat transfer from your CPU to the cooling unit. The key to thermal paste is to cover the surface with it but use as little as possible. Theoretically you want a 1 molecule thick coat all the way across the heat transfer surface. Practically you wont get that, just get close. Your motherboard manual will explain this in depth.
Not sure about gasses? Most anything has a certain level of intoxitive inhalants though. These are just adhesives, glues, surface polish and other finishing materials that emit vapors that are hazardous to inhale over long periods of time. “New Car Smell” is actually an intoxitive inhalant associated with the glue that binds the car interior. I would not avoid the project for fear of this. It would be very unlikely to effect anyone unless you were born overtly sensitive to it for some reason.
Read a few online articles and how-to’a first. Part reviews are good but about 2 hours of background research will allow you to see where you can save money on parts. Decide what you want the most out of your computer for. For gaming, usually a graphics card is the most important investment but GW2 is notoriously CPU heavy if you have number of characters displayed at maximum.
PC part picker is a great tool to mix and match builds and compare investments. They also spotlight builds users make on their homepage so you can search “budget builds” etc…
I would definitely find TomsHardware and start a beginner thread there. They have some real experts and their gamers will know exactly where to get you started. Good luck. It’s a fun experience and you will appreciate what you own so much more after doing it yourself.
Yeah, I went back and looked at the build editor a few minutes and Turtle has a good point. FS and Spotter alone make a Ranger valuable. But the big one I think is Fury. Even PUGs have no problem stacking might but very few pre made groups maintain 100% Fury up time. This is something the Ranger can come very close to if Spec’d right.
Also, Spotter and FS are Boons no other class has so they are valuable in the sense they cannot be out stacked or redundant with another party member. (Unless you have multiple Rangers.)
Ranger is a word that is 100’s of years old and usually refers to a highly trained light infantry specialized in raid, ambush, hit and run and asymmetric warfare. The “range” in ranger comes from the ability to fight at a variety of dynamic ranges, or to control the range of the fight, it does not refer to the exclusive use of fighting at range.
The OP’s suggestion though could be implemented to the Ranger without breaking the buff mechanic already in place for each class though.
I have thought before how much more useful Fortifying Bond would be if it worked both ways. That is, Boons your pet receives are transferred to you as well. That way, while your back in the corners slinging arrows, your bear/wolf/hawk slugging it out with everyone else is receiving your Boons while you are out of range, then remotely transferring them to you via traits. Your DPS is also balanced to include your pet so if only 1 of you is receiving boons you are not optimized for your party anyway.
However, that does not fix the fact that the Ranger would be providing limited buffs to the party. I am not so frustrated that the Ranger can’t do PVE content with a bow as much as I am frustrated that I do not like either melee option.
There are only really 2 since the Axe was refitted as a medium ranged tool for the ranger. The GS would be decent but does not allow the Fury you get off warhorn to be shared or the decent burst from Hunter’s Call. The sword as we all know is unwieldy, which is tolerable except that for the amount of hassle you have to go through to use it I don’t think you get the payoff in DPS.
That said, there is no PVE content in this game so challenging that any single class can not complete it without an average ability of skill. So any changes to skills, traits, balance, etc… is merely optimizing. There are a few videos on YouTube of a party of all Rangers conquering Arah paths.
Might be a good place to share this since many people have never heard of it. I played 2 years before I learned about this.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Customized_soundtrack
While I love the sound track and GW and think its beautiful, it is hard to listen to the same music hours and hours and hours. This added a whole second life to the game for me and I had a lot of fun spending more hours customizing my playlist so I could hear the exact epic hook when I entered a world boss or a large mob.
Funny you mentioned this because for a map I traditionally thought was unpopular it was the top vote 5 times today in my unranked que’s with over half the votes. (None of them me)
I personally don’t like it, but I guess its gaining popularity. Sometimes you get a decent team for it. Usually you don’t. Based on my experience today, if its the popular choice, and your in a pug, it means you are probably batting against a premade who unified to pick it.
