Did anyone else see the “Guard” buff that adds stealth and has a reduced CD (I think)?
I never feel useless in a dungeon nor have a had time finding parties. I use my bears to tank often in dungeons and with a guardian my bears hold out very well most bosses. Maybe you need to play around with your build and find one that is comfortable to your play style. I DPS, group heal, tank, and remove conditions in dungeons. How can that be useless?
So does everyone else they just do it better, LOL. Its not that rangers cant do anything it is just that rangers are best at nothing at all. *bold*To the people who claim they can keep pets alive, that is true but they are close to worthless and you loose 30 to 40% of your DPS.bold I know you fanboys love your rangers but you can not BS us who have played them for very long.
I have no trouble keeping my pet alive at level 50 (so I don’t have all the traits) in dungeons. This is especially true if I’m using ranged pets.
If you think pets are useless, you’re doing it wrong. You most likely don’t go down the BM line and wear full zerker’s…
I think they better fix pets first.
I would like to see at least two more preparations. The fact that there is only one preparation bothers me because its the only skill of its type on the ranger profession.
Right now Sharpening Stone seems out of place.
Why do people never take into account the defensive utility of a weapon when comparing damage?
The warrior GS has the highest damage of all the GS classes but has ZERO defensive utility (unless you count Whirlwind to escape). The ranger GS has an evade on its AUTOATTACK, a block/knockback, and a stun/daze.
And people are still asking why rangers don’t have as much damage on their greatsword attacks. Not to mention that rangers also have their pets dealing damage while they are evading/blocking/stunning…
I think the Ranger should be the best at surviving without boons, mostly through evades/mobility.
I find that two person content would be more useful because it is much easier to find one person to do something than 6 people. That’s just me though.
As to the UI, have you tried it on the lowest resolution with the largest UI size? I have a feeling that that is what they were talking about with the UI.
I actually have to agree with Stooperdale, I find it hard sometimes to find a whole group of five when it gets late.
I hear you kipz, but I have to ask, why 7? That seems like such a random number.
I don’t agree because there are much more important things to be done. For example, Ranger pet AI.
Also, even if I did want it, it wouldn’t be just add two more players to every instance. They would have to figure out how to balance for seven people instead of five. This would be extremely time consuming and would just create more problems for them to fix.
TL;dr I don’t think they should spend their resources on something like this.
I agree with you Dojo: either increase the health/armor, or decrease the cooldown.
I would just like them to be able to survive longer than 0.01 seconds. Even in open world PvE (i.e. the easiest place to survive) they die entirely too easy.
How unfortunate for me.
Rather than buffing pets as a whole, why not just give pets a boon-like effect that negates a percentage of AoE damage while in dungeons/fractals?
This would keep pets from becoming OP in open-world PvE and keep sPvP balanced. This change could also be implemented to WvW, probably to a lesser extent.
This change would be simple, not cause a rift in the time-space continuum, and let rangers keep 40% of their damage in high level content.
Thoughts?
Rather than buffing pets as a whole, why not just give pets a boon-like effect that negates a large percentage of AoE damage?
Where is this info coming from?
Does anyone else find it odd that not only is the lightning combo field only allowed to be made my one profession, but also only ONE skill? (two if you count the static field on the lightning hammer, but I do not count that because it is the same skill)
Comparing it to ALL other combo fields, this one is by far the most rare because it is only made by one skill and said skill has a 40 second cd….
Who else wants more ways of getting this combo field?
I agree, sooooooooo much bank space wasted. Also, on a side note, I think that they should be a collectable!
I’m sincerely wondering why ANET made trash mobs harder than bosses, especially in explorable mode. Is is much more terrifying to see 2 silver ringed guys instead of 1 gold or purple ringed guy. The veterans usually have a lot more mechanics than champions and especially legendaries.
I just find it odd that I’m more worried about the trash that the actual bosses in every dungeon I come across. Does anybody feel the same way?
I would make a new character, its free xp for a character that could actually use it!
