That is a false statement Zach, dungeons right now generate the most gold/hour. SW generates the most materials/hour.
Not exactly.
Loads of conditions apply. Dungeons can generate a guaranteed amount of gold/r for skilled, pre-made groups. The average PUG will have some wait times and wipes to slow them down.
SW, if you time your map switching well, gives enough rares, salvage fodder and champ bags to exceed the gold earned by the average dungeon farmer.
Gold “earned” isnt gold “generated”
and while you generate a lot of gold from ambrite and if you directly sell the items you get from silverwastes to the npc, dungeons generate much more
By ToT farming and SW you play the game, by flipping you don’t.
Flipping is something as side effect of bad model making of trading post.
If people want to play economy simulator, they can clearly instead of playing the game, play the “REAL GAME” go work for lets say 1 week, and use that money for real stock breaking.
wow man… i just cannot bear your completely irrational hate any more.
First:
Why do you “play a game” when you hit buttons to use a skill which kills some npc and don’t do so when you hit buttons to increase your ingame gold count?
You play the game one way or the other.
Second:
If someone buys guildwars (or plays it for free) to use it as an economy simulator whats wrong with that? Besides most people do pve/spvp/wvw AND use the auction house to increase what they got from the different aspects of the game or transmute their rewards for something they want to have.
The auction house seems to be the very definition of evil for you.
Flipping is actually is very vital for the game since it keeps inflation low.
Third:
your “REAL GAME” example is so bad in various aspects. why dont you use the term “real life”? In real life you work to live a good life. you have an income and you will have to use huge amounts of that income for food, a house, various insurances. there will be little of your income to speculate with. Your ridiculous 1week wont earn you anything of interest. the savings of years however….
and guess what…
people who have a lot of money often invest that money. Or get someone who invests it for them.
Whatever…. please let everyone play the game as he wants it to play and think of your statements before you post them.
Thanks
After watching multiple videos of the beta-raid I didn’t see a single group who had a thief in it and killed the vale guard.
While i see reapers doing 30k damage and more with a single hit on relatively low cooldown and a healthpool that makes thieves look like mayflies and revenants with singletarget-damage at least as high as thieves while wearing heavy armor + granting tons of boons to the party. Even rangers seem to be present in almost every setup with their druid spec.
Thieves just seem to have no place in raids. We seem to do mediocre damage compared to the new specs while having not half their surviveability ou group support.
I don’t see any need for a thieves mobility, stealth (since you cannot hardrezz or skip something), blinds (since there weren’t any trashmobs) and defiance removal (there are no defiance stacks, just a breakbar at some occasions which none of the no-thief groups i watched had problems breaking)
So…. is there any point to bring a thief to raids other than making it harder for your friends to succeed at the raid?
i think they should maybe have waited for HoT before swinging the nerf bat…. i wonder how ele will perform against really strong elite specs like chronomancer and herald (revenant at all seems a bit over the top) and no1 really knows how strong scrapper and druid gonna be in pvp. guards are fine now and will be in future necro is fine too atm and reaper is a solid elite spec, warr and thief ….meh berserker maybe but daredevil just wont help thief out of their resbot/+1/decap role
Copy and pasted from a post I made.
Backstab: (2255*2.4*952.5/1924)x(1.10*1.15) = 3389.3
Crit: 3344.2*1.873 = 6348.2If taking executioner and below 50% health: 7617.8
So 7k is certainly possible on a light armour class (no toughness obviously) if you take executioner. For a 9k BS you’d probably need scholar and a bit of might or as Cynz says might and vuln.
Obviously if you’re trying to backstab a bunker guard it will do significantly less. By less I mean block block block block….
yea, you do around 7.6k on a target below 50% life with a zerker thief and cs/sa/trickery and executioner taken. but at this times you find that much protection/invulns/passive invulns, shrouds whatever flying around that the only thing you will kill with that backstab is another thief. and if you do so and another enemy is around your 11.5k life will get shred in about 2seconds or some random aoe
you guys missed the most important part for thieves in fractals….
spamming headshot until the defiance is gone for those pretty 4 icebows per metaparty
what were your stats? O.o
25stacks of might+25stacks of vuln on all the enemies? i must do something wrong with my fulzerk pve armor+acces
where does this strange believe come from backstabs deal 10 thousands of dmg…
with marauder im hitting for 3-5k, (maybe 5.5k on fulzerk) depending on the tankyness of the enemy. ofc there are modifiers for around 30% IF enemy is lowlife/has condis on him, the same time he may have protection buffs/just pop some invuln.
warriors as an example deal way more dmg than thief. On single target. AND has tons of Aoes at his disposal. what makes p/d thief (with his mediocre dmg) strong is the blind + hide on demand. since the last big patch every class can melt squishies in seconds. some even while being tanky (and thief is not one of them for sure)
same problem…fix this!
