@Dovgan Thanks! People just seem to think that we don’t know the points will be recaptured. Believe it or not, we EXPECT them to take their stuff back! And since we would get steam-rolled in the process, we don’t hang around!

I think TFO uses more rams than everyone else on your server put together. While TFO is great at lightning fast non-upgraded tower sieges, I’m curious to see if you could delegate people to defending them. All in all what you are doing would be highly effective if your server could capitalize on your guild being a distraction. The problem that you are causing is we have effectively countered you. We often have 2 groups of 5 following your 30-40 man group capping everything behind you without resistance.
You guys are not a bad server, you just seem to be uncoordinated in the grand picture. You have many large and great guilds but it seems like there are huge divisions in what these guilds are trying to achieve. If you got together and actually focused on a singular task with a solid plan behind it you’d be doing even better. Good luck though, hope you guys only get stronger.
Anvil Rock, at times, is seriously outnumbered. We have to play smarter. We have to get our players to max level, and fully geared. Once we have done that, we will worry about capturing AND defending.
None of our players (TFO) want to sit on our butts in a keep, doing nothing. All it does is cost us money/waste our time (Since we always lose the keep once night comes and we all have to go to bed). We make 4x back what we spend on rams because of our blitzkrieg style, and we have fun doing it (this is supposed to be fun…right?)!
Even if we did delegate defenders, and managed to keep 1 or 2 keeps for the day, we would still lose the keeps at night along with all the upgrades/etc. We simply wouldn’t gain the same amount of rewards just defending a keep or two, that we do blitzing.

To TFO, some people may not appreciate what you do running your rounds, but it makes it a lot easier for small groups or solo players to make a little karma, you guys are a fantastic distraction, I’ve capped tons of roads and supply because if anything you keep the enemy moving around. Have to thank you guys for that.
ANV does a good job as well, no complaints to them, always seem to have decent tactics(although I’ve only run in a group one time with a couple ANV players).
I am a member of TFO, and thank you for this! People don’t understand our tactics, because they don’t understand our goals. ANV is a great guild too! We’ve run with them a few times.
Just last night TFO came to the rescue of the keep housing our lone orb at the request of an allied guild. We drove off the invaders, ran supplies, built arrow carts, and repaired the walls! It makes sense to defend the orb, because it benefits all of us.
TFO is ready and willing to defend Anvil Rock, just keep in mind we also have our own priorities! If you would like to join the TFO special forces feel free to PM me in game for an invite!
TFO is the worst guild ever. After joining them, their only rule was to be in vent while in WvW, fair enough. However, after capturing a keep in a very messy way, the leader demanded everyone to head for the next keep, leaving the one we just got completely empty. I stayed behind in the keep while I made myself some dinner, and for that, I was kicked. I think the oldest person in TFO was 14… maybe 15. The vent was full of drama and a whole bunch of teenage guys trying to be funny to the one female voice in vent. My guess is TFO will be gone in a month or two.
You are certainly welcome to your opinion, but it is completely one-sided an inaccurate. I don’t see why people feel the need to hate on our guild, we are just having fun!
Anvil was getting steam-rolled and we have been making the best of it. Lots of guilds have left for the winning server, but not us. We don’t intend to leave or give up just because things are tough. In fact, we are so dedicated to PvP that, as a guild, we managed to save up the 100 gold needed to make one of our leaders a commander. Now we are saving up to make a second leader a commander as well!
The majority of players in TFO are age 25+, myself and many of the major players being age 30+. This is one of the best groups of players I have ever had the privilege to game with! Our runs are very organized and on point. If you can’t keep up or don’t understand, you will be left behind. You have to be on the ball to run with TFO.
Oh, and as for the lone female voice in vent…I am her. Why are you so butt-hurt over people having a good time? Do you hate fun? The guys are all funny in their own right, most with their own girlfriends/wives (many of whom are also in vent, which you would know if you spent more than fifteen minutes playing with us).
Think about it. We don’t defend keeps because that is not our primary goal. But I don’t have to explain my guild’s tactics to you. If you don’t like it, don’t play with us, no need to slam us on the forums. We aren’t putting anyone else down.
Anyone who would like to join TFO on Anvil Rock, feel free to PM me! Vent is a MUST for pvp. We have a 50 player vent after maxing out the 25, but rest assured we will upgrade if needed!

TFO rocks your pink socks!! Don’t question our methods until you understand our reasons.
I am a sylvari guardian, lvl 77 when this occurred.
I don’t remember all of my beginning choices, but I chose the ‘white stag’ quest line, and I believe I picked ‘afternoon’ as my awakening time.
The fear I chose was of making someone else suffer.
The beginning goes fine. I find Trahearne, the leaders talk, random npc runs in and says the research team is in need of rescuing.
I proceed through the rescue and get to the first group just fine, then make my way to the second research group in the cave.
I talk to the research guy and then nothing happens, all the NPC’s from the first and second research groups just sit there. Trahearne is still following me so I decided to kill all of the undead in the cave, hoping maybe it would un-bug. I killed all of the undead within the cave, but that didn’t help. The NPC’s were still stuck back in the cave where I found them.
I figured maybe it was something I did, so I left the instance and started it over. I fought and killed the undead the second research group was fighting, talked to the head research guy, and then…nothing. They still won’t move. Trahearne is still following me, but nothing else happens.
Am I missing something here? There is an empty chest where I would assume the artifact they had found and were guarding was kept. But there is absolutely nothing to click on and I don’t know how to make this story go forward.
Why turn this into a human issue when it obviously isn’t?
For whatever reason — and this isn’t a slight, but an observation — some people are unable to accept fictional lore for what it is and feel the need to push human (especially their own) morals and ideals onto everything. It’s a huge disconnect, unfortunately.
I agree with you.
The funny thing is this isn’t even fictional lore though…this is just how plants work in the real world. There is nothing outlandish or unnatural about the Sylvari behavior. Even the fact that they were shaped into human shapes. There are many examples of plants that mimic either bird or insect shapes in the wild. Usually because this is beneficial to the plant. Bottom line is, a plant, even if it looks like an insect, will still behave like a plant. Hence, Sylvari, who are plants that happen to look like humans, will still behave like plants.
As an elementalist, I remember this mission as being particularly awful. I died at least 10 times trying to rez the girl on the beach. The only way I managed to finally do it was by summoning my earth elemental a ways down the beach from her and running back to rez her before the risen noticed. My norn guy died and I just left him because there was no way I was going to be able to rez him too.
I think one reason this mission was so bad is that there is no reset. If your ‘helper’ npcs are dead, they stay dead. Instead of your odds of completing the mission improving as you go, they actually get worse because now you don’t have NPCs to help you (not that they are much help anyway), and there are SO MANY MOBS!!!
I did die on some of the missions before this, but usually I deserved it. This was really the first mission where I felt it was nearly impossible to complete, and not completed in the way intended by the game designers.
Honestly, it took me until level 30 or so to even realize that the pairings between sylvari are not always male/female. I finally realized it when Caithe was talking and I realized she was talking mournfully about another female.
As a horticulturist I feel the need to point out that sexual reproduction is actually very uncommon in the plant world. Asexual reproduction is far more common (kind of like the Sylvari origin). For the majority of plant species there are no ‘genders’. In fact…the majority of plants have both ‘male’ and ‘female’ parts, hence the term self-polination.
I think it would be weird if gender mattered to the sylvari, because it rarely ever does in the plant world. Why turn this into a human issue when it obviously isn’t?
Yay! Thank you for an official response…I am a much happier gamer now!
First off Robert, I wanted to thank you for putting your reasoning and your work out there, it’s gotta be tough to take this kind of criticism.
I was always wondering why we had to kite the mobs around at that door, that just didn’t seem right. The one time I was in a group where we did fight the mobs, we managed to get them down just fine (well, I died, but I’m an elementalist so it’s to be expected, but everyone else survived).
I appreciate you making this dungeon harder! Now maybe I will be able to find some people willing to go run other dungeons once in awhile.
I think you are screwed if you opend the boxes, because Anet has no way to physicly manifest themself in the world and handle out boxes to people
It is called ‘in-game mail’.

Trahearne: I personally find him to be probably worst character. :SPOILERS:
Posted by: Rarespawn.6028
Maybe they did a bad job of introducing him for other races? I play as Sylvari and I LOVED him as a character! He was introduced to you by like the third quest or so.
It is explained that it is his Wyld Hunt to lead the pact and ultimately slay the dragon.
I really hope they reward those of us who already got to lvl 80 and finished the final quest, not knowing it was bugged.
To say I was supremely disappointed by the final quest loot, is an understatement. It felt completely anticlimactic and I felt completely ripped off, as in, “I saved all of Tyria and all I got was this lousy t-shirt (5 lvl 40 blue and green items).”
All you have to do is mail out the appropriate reward to those of us who have already completed the final quest! Problem solved, no hard feelings! I will have to let all of my guildies know not to finish their final quest because the sucky reward was unintentional.
You guys should really make an official post about that and tell people to hold off. Because this will undoubtedly ruin the game for some.

Funny, when I read this I read the title as Elementalists Need Weapons ‘Kill’ Switch. To which I completely agree! (for some reason my elementalist will not always stop attacking after the creature is dead).
But no…I do not agree that elementalists need the weapons switch skill. We have the ability to change between all of our attunements. That IS our ‘weapon switch skill’ Earth to air to fire to water.
Yeah, I think if it as more of a, “You’ve obviously spent a lot of time in our world and love the game, lets make it easier for you to port around and help friends and do dungeons at end game level.”
Notice I didn’t say way-point costs should be eliminated, I just think the reduction in cost would be an added benefit to motivate not only complete world exploration, but also continued play.
I agree that this would continue to motivate people to explore the whole world, plus it would be something nice to work towards. I think less people would complain about the way-point costs if there were a tangible in-game way to take action and reduce the cost for yourself.
Say I design an awesome red/black color combo for my current armor, but I also have a red blue combo I like? I’d like to be able to save both to that one set of armor and toggle between them please!!
I don’t know about other players, but I spend literally hours picking out just the right dye combinations, and I’d like not to have to take a screen-shot every time just to remember what I picked!
I can’t tell you how badly I want a Nightmare hound on my hunter! Why can’t we have a ‘rescue’ quest in the Nightmare dungeon to obtain one of these?
I fully support the addition of more plant based pets!!
I have read in a few places that the purpose of the high cost way-points is to get people to explore the map by running around instead of just using teleporters.
I propose reduced transporter fees as an award for 100% map completion.
If I love a character enough to complete the map 100%, and I have fully explored everything (as intended by AreaNet), I see lowered way-point costs as a reasonable reward.
Guild Wars 2 has worked very hard to make everything accessible/doable to both the hardcore and the casual gaming player. Obtaining cool armor should be no different.
At my current play rate it would take me probably 200 days to obtain 100 gold. And that is if I play every single day. I would say maybe even 50 gold is reasonable…that would still take me a ridiculous amount of time to obtain. But at least it would seem possible.
I just want to wear some cool armor…is that a crime?
All of the naysayers seem to think we need to ‘suffer enough’ to get something cool. I think this is an old way of thinking. Guild Wars 2 is a game that respects my time, and this should be no different for obtaining cool armor.
Can you transmute Krytan, Primeval, and Profane armor skins more than once?

^ This. I’ve never run out of stones, I have a pile sitting in my bank of the lower level ones.
Looking forward to a "Make-Over" Option For Re-Customizing Your Character's Look
Posted by: Rarespawn.6028
I think 10$ is reasonable, but the token should allow you to tweak your character for something like 48 hours. I don’t know how difficult that is to program in, but it’s really only once I am moving around in the world in light and dark that I see what I’d really like to change about my character.
I agree to making them account wide. Spending nearly 5g on ONE dye for it to be only usable on one character is a bit much.
There is no dye costing that much. And if you don’t want to do it, don’t. No one is forcing you to. Buy a similar shade and move on. People who are obsessive over little details will always pay more.
Quite a few dyes actually cost this much. Check out the blacks and whites.
I still don’t think dye should be account bound though…I understand why they have it character bound. Getting a lucky dye drop was always a good way to make money in GW1
Looking forward to a "Make-Over" Option For Re-Customizing Your Character's Look

I second this! I really want to see this as an option. This should be a no brainer!
Can you transmute Krytan, Primeval, and Profane armor skins more than once?
Posted by: Rarespawn.6028
You can transmute it as many times as you like so long as you always choose to keep the ‘look’ of the skin, while discarding the old stats.
I agree. I have purchased some of the cloth Sylvari Cultural armor because it is so cool looking! I think Tier 1 is fairly priced, but Tier 2 and Tier 3 are way overpriced for what is essentially a skin (the stats aren’t class specific and just not that great).
Another potential problem I see is that if you use Transmutation stones to ‘skin’ your lvl 80 armor with the cultural armor, if you ever want to change the look of your armor again, you will effectively be destroying your purchase by ‘overwriting’ the cultural armor appearance with a new style. Furthermore, if you ever want to use that cultural armor look in the future, you would have to buy the cultural armor AGAIN for transmutation! Either this or you would have to craft an entire set of the highest level armor for each different style you want to wear.
If you are going to to have the nerve to charge me multiple times for the same set of armor (which I think is completely wrong) it shouldn’t be so expensive!
(edited by Rarespawn.6028)
Before you make fun of my suggestions, yes I’m a girl…girl gamers are cool…don’t you want girls to play video games too AreaNet? If you like girl gamers (and our money) I hope you start paying attention, because I am going to start off with my biggest concern in game right now.
I spent quite a bit of gold on the Sylvari cultural armor because it looks so cool. I used the transmutation stones to make my yellow lvl 80 armor (with all the stats I want) look like the Tier 2 cloth Sylvari cultural armor set. But now I’m concerned about the fact that if I ever want to change the look of my armor again I will either have to
a) Make a new set of lvl 80 rare gear for each ‘new look’ I want to create (which seems like an awful lot of work).
b) Or ‘overwrite’ the sylvari tier 2 armor style with the ‘new look’ effectively rendering all of the gold I spent pointless, and forcing me to buy yet another sylvari tier 2 armor set if I ever want to use that style again. I’m already paying for the transmutation stones…why make me pay again and again for a style I already purchased?
Can’t you give us a closet option or something? For example, once you have an item you could choose to deposit the style of it in a virtual closet (for a one time fee maybe), and from then on it will appear in a special closet tab, allowing you to use the appearance (just appearance, not stats) of it in transmutations! That way I won’t need to take up my entire bank space with the unorganized chaos of items I have collected because I like the style.
You could even make it a payed for feature like the extra bank tabs or extra character slots…I’ll gladly pay for it! I see lots of other people also collecting styles…and I think this is a really fun part of the game!
For the love of kittens , please don’t make me craft as many high level armor sets as I need for all the different styles I want to wear! Don’t punish me for wanting to change my outfit! You are the ones who put over 400 different colors of dye in the game, you forced this diversity and need to change my outfit upon me!
