Unfortunately, my original post(above) was through my user account and not my work account so it doesn’t have the visibility it should. Please read it if you haven’t.

We are actively looking into performance issues and I have been providing updates on this thread regularly over the past couple weeks.

There seems to be some confusion about what our “fix” was. Disabling “High-Res Character Textures” was NOT it but did come in the same patch. The “fix” is not something expected to actually fix every bodies issues but rather address what many posters have been experiencing. That said, some of you have already reported back saying that it has helped and some of you have said it hasn’t made a difference.

We’ve continued looking into this issue beyond the latest changes and in doing so have found an audio issue that can affect the global performance of the game under certain conditions. This is where I asked that you try “-nosound” to see if it makes a difference and report back if it did. This was never a suggestion to actually fix your issue. Some players did this and reported a huge performance improvement and we can now justify shipping the code changes we’ve made in response. This is GOOD! This you all helping us help you.

What i have noticed, for me, is that this slight stutter effect all few Seconds (it differs randomly) occur only when the FPS are lower then 60+ per second. Its not so terrible, like others who had this problem but noticeable.
It happens around 40 – 58 FPS.
Like in difinitys reach or lions arch with maxed players.
The FPS drops to ~48 – 58, stutter occurs.

When i set the FPS limitation to 30, no stuttering with maxed players. FPS never drops below 30.
When i set the FPS limitation to 60 or unlimited, stutter occurs only below 60 FPS.

My default settings are:

Resolution: Windowed Fullscreen (to change this dont change anything)
Refreshrate: Standart
Frame Limiter: 60 (30, 60 or unlimited for testing)
Interface Size: Small

Animation: High
Anti-Aliasing: FXAA
Enviroment: High
LOD-Distance: Ultra
Reflections: All
Textures: High
Render Sempling: Supersampling
Shadows: Ultra
Shaders: High
Postprocessing: High
Character Model Limit: Highest / low (i only changed this for testing)
Character Model Quality: Highest

Best Texture Filter on.
Depth Blur on.
Effect LOD off.
High-Res Character Textures on.
Vertical Sync on/off… dont change anything on 60FPS with 60 FPS Limitation.

In my case, i think it had to do with some “asynchronous” frames per second.
So its a driver problem maybe… im still testing some options.
The question is… have only nVidia users this problem?

The -nosound comand dont change anything.
High Res Character Textures dont change anything.

An interesting Demo (the first 3 Minutes) from nVidia, i know its more a commercial video BUT… it tells DIRECTLY what happens for me. And i think, he tells YOU when this stuttering happens.
Maybe… a little hint?

PS:
I would say stuttering all few seconds, more or less, is a different problem as the bad FPS problem since the feature patch.
One hard stuttering/slow down problem was the CPU and energy setting.
Bad FPS after feature patch was Anets fault. ;P
Stuttering randomly maybe from asynchronous FPS to refresh rate (see video) is the problem that i have, and some others. Would be maybe a driver problem.

Nope, they dont. Thats the big problem you will have.
But anyways… when the Card dont support HDMI 2.0, you dont get 60Hz out of the card.
Monitor AND Graphic Card have to support HDMI 2.0 to get the full 60Hz.
The GTX 980 use HDMI 2.0, as an example. Most of the older 700 Series dont use the new version.
And there dont exist a HDMI 2.0 cable, every HDMI cable is compatible to the new 2.0 standart.

Simple use the Displayport for gaming.

Oh… and dont use nVidia Cards in the moment for 4K, they send only a limited RGB Signal with HDMI and Displayport. (driver site options dont change this)
They handle monitors as TVs on HDMI and DP and use the video standarts for bluray. >_>
There exist programs to change this but it will not work for all users.
Totaly bull****.

Sad that nVidia dont change this in the drivers. -_-
You get only with DVI the right full RGB signal.

I connected my 4K monitor a couple hours ago and put my 4770K to 4.1 GHz and left my graphics cards running at optimal settings and aside from the absolutely gorgeous image quality, I think the game could use a larger option for UI beyond Large.

Oh yes…, the ui is so tiny… >_<

@Topic:
What connection are you using? Maybe HDMI?
Change to Displayport.
Most of the 4k Monitors use the “old” HMDI 1.4 Version.
This version can not support 4k @60Hz, you only get 30Hz.
30Hz to 60Hz is good noticeable (for me).

I have no problems with the changes but i can understand the angry players.

I like the ideas behind the option with the individual sliders AND the new system.
So you can change the amount of gems/gold on your own and have the “fast method” like it is in the moment.
Maybe a option when you click the icon for gem/gold.
They are so shiny when you hover with your mouse over it.
I tried to click them after the change, in the hope i was able to change there the amount of gems. XD

Make it clickable, so you have a new menu/window where you can select the individual number for gems/gold.
And add a information under the new information.

“Players trade Gold…. " >add new Information> “Click on one of the icons above, so you can adjust the number…”

And that the avatar is only a image. But i felt sad as this “person” cried in pain after the attack. And my character runs as fast as she could to this “person”.

When the character is moving, the wreath of cooperation seems to have a very wrong physic.
I think its a bit too much moving. O___o

I’ve crafted the backitem on the first day in the first houeres of the patch. Yes… im crazy…
And i dont used a guide for it.
You can do this without any outside resources.
But you have to think a little bit… and this is a point many players forget.
They ask everything… they dont read… dont look… and so they dont know what to do when the information is not directly on the table.

When you wont craft it, dont do it.
Its to expensive? Dont craft it.
You want it? You have to “pay”/“farm” whatever.

Its a ascended backpiece.
Every of this backpieces cost a bunch of mats or time.

You will get it without any work? Well…
You have to do more than just farm foxfire clusters.
But so much players are angry about everything.
I liked the way to craft it. The last steps are awesome.
But no… all is bad… blabla.

And you dont know what the item do?
Well… its a backpiece, ascendet… what information is unclear about such a item?
Only Mawdrey II was not clear. And this is only a funny item you get for free when it comes with the backpiece.

But all in one, her cry let Meme (One of my “younger” sylvari PCs) run instantly to “her”, feared and worry about “her” mum, the pale tree.
And that the dragon attack the heart of her mum.

Then Meme fight against the biiiiig shadow like a little dervish to save her so beloved mum. ;_;

And yet the paly tree lies down… the entire tree hurt in pain and faded away.
Meme is now a sad young sylvari but she will fight Mordremoth with all her powers. \o/

She fight the dragon in mind to save her “mum”, the pale tree, so she can return to the tree in the future, see the pale tree in her full beatuy as before the fight.

I mean… strong animation.

Ok, its only the avatar of the whole tree… but… a little respect plzzz… ;_;

I know its hard to change the world and match it up with the old storyline from Zaithans fight. (many places are changed in the old story duo to changes of the new one)

But ANet should change the text to fit the actual story.

The sylvari would die without the pale tree.
Why? The tree gives the sylvari her lifes.
So without the tree no new sylvari would be born from this tree.
That would be make no sense.
The sylvari race will be to shocked to fight mordremoth effectively.
Not all of them get a wyld hunt, only two for dragons. Caith and your PC.
The most are no warriors, young and curios for the world.

That would be away to be a great story. Let jennah die… it will be the same.
ANet throw away a NPC with direct contact to tyrias mystic.
Without this NPCs wich one will be aible to get this connection? Asura?
A whole part of the actual story will be cut off.

Beside:

She’s alive but very weak after the attack.
She will survive but to see her Mama like this makes Meme very sad. ;_;

The ponytail has physics and moves when running.
Not much but he do so.

You can make her armor and colors. But no face fit scarlets.
So i made the face of my ingineer how i like her.
I think this is the best thing you can do.

so im here in the “technical area” with a problem and this cute programm so called “nvidia inspector”.
So AA will work in GW2.
BUUUT it seems some things have changed, since the new drivers aka 337.xx+ comes out.
So no option and no changes in the inspector let me activate AA in GW2 anymore.

Im sad.

TXAA is terrible.
I want my 4x SMAA back on screen. x3

Anyone with the same problem? ;_;

I use DXTory.
Work well, with less or none CPU usage in uncompressed mode. (Lagarith)
But you need a very fast harddisc. x3
Good to record zerg events too. You have the cpu power for gw2 and not for realtime compression like Fraps doing it. >_>
And you have many options to configurate the recordings.

But it will cost a bit.

ANet can put her into game as an evacuated/escaped NPCs in shaemoor.
Make a quest for her. Place her near the field with the raging rabbits.
And then let her chickens hide everywhere in shaemoor.
And the player have to find the chickens. x3

Give her a text like… “I was evacuated/Have to escape back to shaemoor, am so sad that salma get destroyed by this terrible vines. Im lucky to be alive… and my chickens. Can you be so kind and find them for me? They so shy/afraid after this.”

Maybe with a word about her husband?
He worked for the seraphs.

On the fields of sheamoor is a little boy. He will catch a chicken.
That would be perfect for the quest.

That would be soooo great.
And let her sing her song.
And when you finished this little event, she will sell her chickenfood to you, that gives you a 10% speed Bonus for 5 Minutes.
I think this would be good for starter Area hu?

The black lions tradingpost having issues. You are not alone.
But when the gems dont apear after the fix, contact the support.

Did it with my Necromancer on Conditions.

Done it with all classes, naked, phase1 Nekro Lifeleech, also naked… and so on.
And im by far not the best player.

She is not to hard, she is not “do it in the first try”.
She is “Try it, if you fail, try it harder”.
Learn the routine in all two phases.
When you lerned the phases, the black cloud/rain, the lightfields, the voidriftthingies, you beat her very easy.

I can write a guide for the first phase, step by step.
No damage, when you manage it right or very less damage from her AA.
No dodge needed.
You run this way every time, with every class.
Believe me, when you do this 20 times… you wish to jump instant to phase 2…

The great problem with Megaservers in EU… there is no one language.
There is spanish, french, german… and so on.

The idea is perfect but not in EU, i think.
The players harass each other for her language… wow.
They speak only in french, spanish or german.

Please split the megaserversystem in EU into language specific parts.
French Servers > French Megaserver
Spanish Serves > Spanish Megaserver
Or delete the single Servers… but please… change it. ~_~
