Not only the skritt bottles behave like that now. -_-

I play since release, every class frequently.
I claim i have “some” experience with such skills. (Which one has the ability and which not)
And i won’t complain about that when i never noticed such a wired behavior now. ._.

Well i’ve noticed the changes in projectile velocity. (Ranger was a huge one)
I was confused, yesterday i tested it with this pistol mobs in draconis mons (last waypoint) who shoot a barrag like skill at you like the mesmer illusion does.
They missed 2/3 of them only by straving. Well, it seems it works but thanks to the velocity changes (maybe) most of them hit you now and it’s “harder” to dodge such projectiles.

Well… i hate this at a small rate. Because you were/are able to dodge the firearrows from the jade champion in ember bay the whole time, when you are attentive. (I liked it this way, dodges only for real problem zones etc)

But this homing missle like fireballs bothered me.
Also some barrels from rifles… you have to be miles away now to dodge them with straving… gnah! (Well, it’s realistic… yes. I mean… we are not Neo from Matrix. XD)

Hi everyone,

yesterday i’ve seen something strange (for me personally) as i played against some enemies with rifles, bows and elementalists with staff skill projectiles (fireball, earth1 etc).

They flew in curves and hit me even if i was straving.
I’m playing this game for mor than 4 years now but that’s new for this sort of projectiles.
I’m not able to dodge them with movement anymore. o_O
A thief who shoots his barrage hits me with every single bullet. Rangers with every single arrow.
Fireballs form curves to hit me, after i move from the expected impact area.

Was there a patchnote about that?

I loved GW2 for this physically correct movement. But now it’s like in WoW! >_<

I have to do some testing, because it could be lag (but i had in every case around 30-40ms and the game uses a 60ms standard for their servers).

I know there are projectiles who ARE targeting, like the mesmer staff1 as an example. That was since i started playing.
But the same with bullets, arrows and fireball like skills is new to me.

Can someone test this also? Or have this experience since the last… 2 days or 3?

I want to know if there is something wrong on my side or if there was a undocumented change gamewise.
Maybe someone who want to test this also.

… as i said before… in germany are holidays. Traffic rises, node providers lower the traffic with network “brakes”.
Its only one idea…

Problem: The EU Server Center stays in Frankfurt am Main, germany.
So everyone in EU, or many/some of us suffer from nice lags at maintimes. In germany most between 6pm to 11pm. After this timespan the lags are mostly gone.

Test it on your own. Note the times when the lag happens and set it with this daytimes.
Is it the same timespan? (remember the difference between timezones before you note it down and correct it)

Yes: You suffer from traffic brakes in one network node between you and NCSofts Datacenter.

No: Someone else… search is not over for you. :O

Not only combofields.
Chairs, Stones, Tables… also such items disappear when you facing them and turn to them.
When you turn around and turn back, same thing happens every time.
Its a bit odd.

Some nodes are lower the traffic because heavy loads in maintimes.

I tried it infight, outfight but no Gyro will trigger this trait at any time.

Soooo… i reported it on first day you could play the tempest but since no changes happend. (maybe it would be fixed in the releas version..)

When you cast wildfire and phoenix no explosion finisher happens, only vigor from phoenix activates.
Dragons tooth works as intended.
Arcane wave and arcane brillance works also as intended with wildfires firefield

Well i hope this is a bug…

On some maps i hear a horn like sound… or “music”.
It sounds a bit like a horn from a ship far away.
When i disable ingame instruments its also disabled. o_O

Anyone els hear this? <_>

It plays in normal gameplay (not beta) too.

PS:
Its sounds different as a horn skill used from palyers.
And you can shut it down with ingame instruments… so i dont think it comes from a skill.

Unsere Gilde besteht momentan aus circa 260 Membern, wovon viele schon in anderen MMOs Erfahrung gesammelt haben.

Einige von uns sind bereits bei Guild Wars 2 seit den offenen Betas

Regeln gibt bei es uns nur die üblichen:

  • TS3 Aktivität ist uns sehr wichtig!
  • Freundlicher Umgang mit den Gildenmitgliedern und anderen Spielern.
  • Spaß am Spiel und Gute Laune.
  • Hilfsbereitschaft wenn sie erforderlich ist.
  • Repräsentationspflicht.

Wir laufen täglich Instanzen und Fraktale. Auch WvW und PvP sind wir
nicht abgeneigt. Ebenso die Gildenmissionen haben wir uns zum Ziel
gesetzt und lehren regelmäßig den Böslingen das Fürchten. Wir haben
inzwischen sämtliche Missionsarten freigeschalten und bestreiten regelmäßig und
erfolgreich.

Unsere Gilde will auch den anderen Spielern außerhalb unserer
Gemeinschaft ermöglichen an den Gildenmissionen teilzunehmen. Aus diesem
Grund veranstalten wir jeden Donnerstag verschiedene Missionen für jeden
der mitmachen möchte und über TS3 verfügt. Wenn ihr daran teilnehmen
wollte einfach ingame “Lordstarbuck” anflüstern und nachfragen.

Um es einfach auszudrücken : Wir machen alles was dieses tolle Game zu bieten hat in netter, gemütlicher Atmosphäre.

Profane Gloves dont match skin color

The profane gloves dont match the human(Norn too maybe?) skin color you’ve chosen, when you have the dark 3 or somewhat dark skin on your character.
(This “gloves” are only “fingergloves”, so the skin on the hand is visible.)

PS: Ingame ticket send a week before this thread.

An older bug…

When your charater stands still for a longer period of time, emotes are not shown for you. (but for other players)
They only appear as chat message for you.

Same for skills. Skill is shown, but not the animation and movement from your character.

Chars younger then ~1,5 – 2 years (or ~600 days) are not affect on my account.
So i think all of them have done some season 1 events/story things.
But its so long ago… i cant remember directly. <_>

GW2 needs a new graphics engine!!!

For a 3 year old MMO with DX9 are the graphics pretty good.
Far better as any other existing and upcoming MMO this year.
Most of the upcoming MMOs based on an old unreal engine and dont look better. (blade & soul, etc)

The clothes and armors are superb.
There are so much details.
The last winters day weapons, as an example. The snowflakes in the glas spheres of the weapons are extreme sharp real looking sknowflakes. Not only white blurry dots.
But most of the players dont see this.

I dont know what some people playing when they open up such threads. o_O

PS:
GW2 uses ambient occolusion… see screenshots.

PPS:
I will see a MMO with such effects (and amount of players) AND better graphics, without using a NASA Servercenter.
Think about the witcher 3… to play it on maxed out details.
I would say we should be realistic. ^^

And since the last patch there was a noticeable performance boost for zergs and large scale battles.
Guildmembers and myself recognized it in some large scale fights with higher or highest player count settings.

Sounds like a type of chinese Bamboo drums.
The sound starts with ONE “drum” and goes up with time, more and more.
And after a minute or two you have dozens of them… wired… o_O

Only when you stand free.
In a house or something, it ends.
When you leave it, it starts with one “drum” and so on… x_X

I can confirm this (i set a thread in german for the same problem).

It seems the pilot helmet was accidentally changed duo to the april fool thing.

When you change the skin, it will end to stutter.
When you change the helmet (with another skin) it will end to stutter too.

Totaly normal.
When you limit the FPS it limits the usage from graphical load.
DX9 send most of his instructions to the CPU first, then back to the GPU.
So, when you limit the FPS/Graphic load, less CPU load.

The numbers are total normal for an i5 in gw2.
In huge zergs an i7 get up to 60-70%, including four logical cores.
Without them, you get the same numbers for an i7.
The game, without FPS limit, catch what it can.
So you have high CPU usage to support the GPU.

Mh in my opinion he is not overpowerd. He his not easy and should be a little challange.
Im far away to be realy good, but i have him beaten in the first try. x3

Tips… uhm… use the skills… watch out what happens.
I mean… mh you have three dodge skills + 2 normal dodges.

Use heal on cd or to dodge from windwalls, use sprint when this windwalls are up.
Use the whirl near him, so you hit the elementals and instant himself, when the ele is down.
Use the jump reflection for his ranged attack, so he take massiv damage from it i think.
You are faster in whirlwind, use it to get away from this windwalls when you are crippled.

Use stealth only when you can beat him. So he dont attack you in this few seconds.

Well, ok.
You are right that this is maybe the only position in the story to put in a “cliffhanger” for a logical reason.
Majory has to read Books, do researches, yes.
Caithe must be found, but first, we have to find her. And for this, we have to do researches.

And yes… it shows that Anet dont brake with their own “rules” of their story.
It shows that Anet work more on an accurate story.
They go the way, that is meant to be the right way for the story.
And when this means… there must be a cliffhanger… well.
They dont change the story to get this away, and this is good.
With a story told in episodes… maybe such a episode is in this moment the only way.

Hrm… kitten you Anet… even in such a situation… there is a good part in it. x_x

Same here.
I told this in an other thread.
To much cliffhangers let the story stuttering.
But this is not a real cliffhanger.

I like the game very much, the detail, the ideas, all… i like the point of the story behind this idea and the potential.
But yet, the storytelling is on a way… i think its not the best way for such a big story/game.
I dont know why… to try this method of storytelling?
Testing it? I dont know… : /
Im sorry that im thinking so in the moment…
And i dont like it.
The parts feel shorter and shorter.
Pleas go back to the good old storytelling, like glints lair… not this pseudo cliffhanger shortcut thing. ;;

The question is, what have changed?
Can you test different options in graphics and videodriver? (like ambient occlusion > off when active and so on)
Every setting high > off and so on. To see what causes this problem?
Or is nothing changing?

I noticed this change only when i play with ultra shadows now.
Before this “problem” occurs i dont get this laggy drops with ultra shadows.
When active the game lags all few seconds, stuttering around more or less.
Thats mysterious. o_O

Sometimes, but very rare, my fps drops to exact 15, like yours.
The CPU and the GPU goes down in workload.
Before this happens, my ingamesound stops/mutes and the CPU goes down from 25 – 55% (no-zerg/zerg) to 12-15%.
Also the GPU.
I have to restart the game.

Can you post your workload of your CPU and GPU with 15 FPS?

And which videocard/CPU etc. are you using?
I use a nVidia GPU and a Intel CPU in the moment.

Ok… i try do explain my “problem”.

This problem never happend the last 2 years, since a patch i believe.
When i set the shadows to “ultra” (i used this settings from beginning) the FPS drops very strong when i move the camera angle now.
No matter how strong the movement is, a bit or around the character.
From stable 60 FPS (limited) to 35-40FPS, the game slows extremely in this moment and fast movement/reaction is impossible.
When the camera movement stops, the FPS get back to stable 60.
Same angle, same location, same map.

I noticed it the last month in some maps, when i look far away.
So… have anything in a patch changed something to slow down the FPS so drastically?

When i set shadows to high now, all is fine. Smooth picture, smooth movement, fast reactions.
Since 2 years i get this with ultra settings. But now… impossible.

I tried out some older driver versions, nothing happens.

For me… its a total mystery.
What have changed? oO
Is this maybe the problem what over players have since one of the latest patches?

Indeed, I installed knew AMD drivers and the game was a lot smoother…

I believe Anet should know and focus where the problems on Windows 10 are.

Why should ANet do this?
Users before have written why its bad to play on WIN10, on a very early open alpha/beta.
ANet is not Microsoft, nor nVidia or AMD.

When the final version is released and you can buy it in a shop and the performance is bad, THEN its on ANet maybe. When the problem is not the videodriver or the os himself.

When you will play GW2 smooth, use Win8 or Win7, thats it.
I dont think that ms care about games in a early alpha/beta.
Or any dev team for games about alpha os preview versions.

Its not at all a beta, ms is beta testing itself, not you or any other user.
THIS is only a preview, not more. And you dont should use it for normal workloads or playing.

Hm, maybe you have checked the option a while ago and the setting was saved in a profile for newer updates?

Yah, it looks a bit wrong in some cases, yes. But the most time it looks good.
I see this like in your screens only with a special colorsetting from fog far away.
Most in early morning ingame time.

See:

Frist pic have this “special” fog far away over the stonetextures. Lines come visible.
Second is without those lines. The backround is not far enough.
Third one is in another lightsetting, night in this picture. So the lines dont occur: No sun, no big shadows, no lines.
Its a nice feature who calculate the light a bit realistic in most points on places who light will be “blocked” from nearby textures, except textures far away with this special coloring. ^^’’

The darker lines in the backround area?

Its not the game itself, its your graphic driver or in other meanings, your settings forced in the driver options for gw2.

Called “ambient occlusion”. When you dont like this effect in a specific light enviroment, dont activate it.
This occurs only, when the ingame light has a specific ambient behaviour in addition to specific textures in backround areas like stone or something else.

The game has do support this option, so you can activate it for this game/be active in the game. (not every game support ambient occlusion)
Then the driver will handle all this additional effects, like in your screenshot.

Dont blame Anet, blame nVidia/AMD for a better calculation algorythm.

So, when you dont have ambient ccolusion active in your driver settings… then i will say anet have to fix it. XD
