Yes, I’d like to see:
The Ready Button and the black header. – Should be able to minimize that if your just tagging up for general use.
When sub squads are made. – There Target should be separate from commanders or other squads.
Would be nice to chose the colour of the dots on map for each sub squad.

It doesn’t look like lag to me, looks more like the refresh rate of objects.

a good example is:
go to the centre of the maze in Hidden Depths, Silverwastes.
watch the positions of the mobs, imagine a radius around you, the bigger the radius the worse it gets.
mobs close to you move smoothly, the further away they are they start to blink from position to position.
It’s like this running around a map, It’s hard to explain but it doesn’t feel like lag, it’s like it hasn’t updated something yet.

I’m probably just imaging it and am just having issues with my internet connection.
Just wondered if any one else is having similar issues?

I’m not bothered about it, I just noticed when using a few Tomes.

The last number I take as being the Rank/Tier the world is in.

For the map’s that have multiple floors in the Tile Service, I use the mumble Z-coordinate to determine which Floor to use.

The API for map_floors/PIO do give which floor the POI is on.

Probably not anytime soon; we’ve had a lot of issues with it.

That’s a shame, running around Lion’s Arch with the old Lion’s Arch on my other monitor is so disorientating.

How about a temporary floor of just the new Lion’s Arch until things get fully sorted?
That way no other maps should slip in

whisper Verdant Brinks, could there be more that could slip out?

What a stupid Sticky Topic.
I don’t mean the original Topic/Post is stupid, the original Topic/Post is OK.
It’s the fact you made it into a Sticky is silly.
It’s going to end up as a Topic with a thousand pages you have to search through.

I would Class API errors & bugs as a Category not a Topic

If you want all errors Topics in one place create a sub-forum.

Having each in a separate Topic enables the Topic to be close deleted or archived when it is no longer required.

Reading though pages of text to find something you may be able to help with is hard and boring. Then when you find some thing, you have to read through the rest of the pages to see if it has been sorted or not.

It looks to me like, they have made an adjustment in the game map of Tyria, for Rata Sum area.
And have not done the same adjustment for the copy in the tile service.

That’s certainly possible, but I’m really not familiar enough with how that endpoint works. How is the current result different from the expected result?

This is how I think it is:

Imagine the map of Tyria as one giant Image, call this the master image.
To make this master image of all of Tyria, someone has pasted each playable map (i.e. Queensland, Kessex Hills ect.) onto this map in is relevant location.
Then a copy of the master map has been taken for use in the game.
Also a copy of the map has been taken to make the tiles in the Tile Service.
Some one has noticed the error of the placement of Rata Sum in the copy taken for the In Game Map and adjusted it.
But the copy taken for making the tiles in the Tile Servce has not been altered.

I hope that made some sense.

:) The size of the tiles are ok.

It’s hard to explain.
You need to make a map using the tiles, then populate it with the POI, i.e. Waypoints.
compare the location of the web based map and the game map.

Place ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ items in your inventory, change maps/log out. They will become ‘Account Bound’ and stack.

I put every thing I had in my bank that say ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ into my inventory, changed map and hey presto, all now say ‘Account Bound’

All now stack.

I have some Account bound Items that don’t stack.

They look the same, but in the description, there is a slight difference.

One will have: Account Bound
The other will have: Account Bound on Acquire

Is it possible to get this sorted?
I am now using 2 slots in my bank for items with this problem.

Before creating a character I usually think of a name first.
One suited to the character I am going to create.

Just thought I would be nice to be able to make some sort of tool to check on the availability of a name before going through the process of creating a character.

I like to put a bit of time and thought into making a character, but then when it comes to enter the name at the end of the process, it’s a bit depressing to find the name is taken.

Now that I took the time to suggest this, and it takes me ages to write a post, I’m going to post it anyways.
Maybe I should have made a different suggestion elsewhere asking ArenaNet to put Name choice at the beginning of the process

Actually Steven, you don’t need user input at all if you’re using JS – there’s a built-in function for this.

We use it on the wiki, in the function autoConvertUTC() in conjuction with Template:UTC time.

Oh forget it, I got the same type of feedback when I suggested having different colour commander tags over 2 years ago.

I thought the idea of a good application was the user did as little as possible.

Not have to look up there time zone offset and do calculations in there head.

Anyways, I assume from this post now, that Server Time = UTC (Coordinated Universal Time.)
Is this the case for European Servers and American Servers?

At the moment my application requires that the user inputs there time zone offset from GMT. (obviously they only do this once and it’s saved as a setting).
I just converted all the scheduled times to GMT times add the value the user inputs and return the result.

I could have at the application at start up, go to a THIRD PARTY web server and find the current GMT, check the clients current time, calculate the difference and add that time to the scheduled time. (Obviously it would only calculate the difference once)

All I thought was instead of using a THIRD PARTY server, we could keep it in the family so to speak and ask GW2 API for the current server time.
The result would be compared to the clients time and the schedule adjusted to suit.

It was just a though, I must stop having these

Eh, server time is just UTC. I would assume that the servers have an NTP client running, so there shouldn’t be that big of a sync issue between the GW2 servers and your local machine.

I don’t think you got what I was trying to say.

If people from different time zones have access to the same schedule, they have to do some calculation to work out the time on the schedule to there time.

If an application had access to the to the time the schedule was based on, then the application could easily do the calculation for each person in there respective time zone.

It would be nice to have Server Time added to the API list.

I have noticed that many events and NPC placement are now on scheduled times.

When creating an interactive map that people from different time zones use.
I thought it would be easier to use one clock that’s the same for every one, rather than have to incorporate script to work out where the person using the map is located.

Seems like I have had an Unfortunate set off coincidences that give the wrong impression.
was only happening in Tyria not WvW, but now the DC is about every 15 – 30 mins in both.
As Bosses are every 15 minutes the timing is bad luck.
Taken up the issue with my net supplier.

Join a party to ensure you get sent back to the map you were in when you reconnect.

Every time it get to about 1 or 2 minutes to the end of a world boss, I get kicked / Disconnected.
While the megaserver relocates space on the maps.
Then I get the message to change map several times to go to a more populated map.
I move about 3 time before it settles.
Meanwhile I have not killed a boss because I am put on a map that has finished the event.

IT’S ANOYING.
AND VERRY UPSETTING.

Oh sod it I don’t any more.

In fact from what I have seen on this forum, I don’t think the search system is bust.
I think it is set so that it only searches posts less than a day old.

I post very little and don’t get on the forum very often. so following a topic I start seams to end up locked or too old.

I have come to the conclusion that ……
Ban me from the forum, it just upsets me not being able to find any thing with the search option, I end up righting chicken.

PS.
sarcasm doesn’t work on this forum either.

Tip on Getting stuck in siege:

In Control Options, under Miscellaneous, there is now an option to Stow/Draw Weapons.
Assign a key to this. Works every time.

There is a map section that uses the API. Helps me in WvW

I have found *identity * to be:

name — that straight forward
profession — I think 1=Guardian, 2=Warrior, 3=Engineer, 4=Ranger, 5=Thief, 6=Elementalist, 7=Mesmer, 8=Necromancer.
map_id — this works with https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/maps.json?map_id=18
world_id — this I don’t know, any one able to help with the number given here? (268435465)
team_color_id — I think 0=Red, 1=Green, 2=Blue.
commandertrue if you are commanding.

So do anyone know what the world_id number represents?

So when is Build Mastery and Repair Mastery going to be fixed?

It’s not what you expect it to be.

I can use 10 supply faster than I can use 3.

You can only use even amounts of supply at a time.
If you have an odd amount of supply it takes twice as long to use it.

I would search to see if this has been posted before but that never works either

Episode 2 Dry Top Not in Tile Service

I noticed that the part of the map added in Episode 2 of the Living Story has not been added to the Tile Service yet. is there a reason behind it? if so, i would like to know whats going on with that, since that part is kinda missing for my live map as of now.

My thought is:
May be they are holding it back.
In the game you have to discover the areas before it is displayed in the game.
So may be it’s so you don’t get a spoiler of the area.
