Not sure why, but it seems to happen more frequently while wielding a scepter.

30 points in water, and 10 in earth here.
It is invaluable at higher levels. I’ve taken single hits that would instantly down power specced eles. I try to never take any damage, and there are numerous auras and CC abilities that make this mostly possible. Sometimes though there’s too many, too much and everything is on cool-down.
I’d like to deal more raw damage like the BM Ranger I usually run with, but fire is the least appealing line to me for simple return on investment. Gear selection is important as well.
TL;DR The heath is there if you go all in.

I KNOW underwater combat for the elementalist is sub-par. I have a 74 ele and a 42 warrior. Neither are specced for huge power, and the warrior is just more effective at killing mobs underwater. More damage, period.
All the crowd control and fancy shenanigans amount to a hill of beans when it takes three to four time longer to down one mob on my ele. I avoid underwater combat on my ele while solo. With one other it’s at least tolerable.
Now that I think about it, the warrior does more dps at 42 against even level mobs than my ele does at 74. How is this not a problem?

It was happening to me. Mostly during large DE events with a large number of people. I manually went into my sound card configuration and disabled all Dolby effects, and sadly Dolby Headphone. It hasn’t happened since.
I may have also bumped down the playback sampling rate to 48kHz. Not sure if that did anything to help. Let us know what works for you if anything. Good luck!
