What we need is a difficulty setting. And not just in the personal story but dungeons too. Maybe even in the pve world. You can choose your own challenge level. Everyone’s happy.
I am not hardcore player, I work from mon to fri just like everybody else. I get up at 5:30 in the morning and get back at around 4:30 / 5:00 after I am done taking a shower / eating / etc I have about 3-4 hours of Guild Wars 2 to play, in which as a level 80 I usually get 1-2G per hour. Me, a casual player has fully exotic gear…
Please don’t go around making excuses, thank you.
3-4 hours a day!? Sounds hard core to me but then maybe my life is more busy than yours.
what are you guys smoking? with all my exotic gear, fully runes / sigils I go to low level areas and I 1-2 shot everything. Everything dies to fast and I barely get scratched.
If everyone was level 80 with exotic gear im sure it wouldn’t be a problem, but sadly life isn’t so kind to us casual players. It takes time to level up and an even longer time to get good gear. And i think im correct in saying that for most casual players by the time they reach level 80 its pretty much end game for them. I prefer the journey not the end game content. And the journey in GW2 is a frustrating one.
Anyway, i do like the level adjustment but it does seem a bit extreme. As a suggestion for being slightly more powerful in low level areas, perhaps the toughness and vitality stats should remain unchanged, or reduced slightly, to allow players to take more of a beating.
all i ever do when i log into this beautifully crafted world is constantly fight for my life. Not fun.
I agree. I did make a suggestion thread about increasing the power of our healing skill or adding healing potions but oddly its been deleted??? Very strange. I thought it was a reasonable suggestion. But anyway i agree totally.
Personally, I think that the PQ are great, if you are a hardcore player. If I play a little off and on, I don’t stand a chance at all to finish without lots of help from my guildies (Thanks, Ty!). Maybe that’s the point, but I think this game should be for casual gamers too, not just the hardcore ones. Or am I wrong here?
No your not wrong. I think most people would agree with you. But is Arenanet listening? That i’m not so sure about.
Need for changes on Conditions, Waypoints, Healing, and Soloplay

I’ve written a few humble suggestions here.
Conditions inflicted by enemies seem far to overused and should be toned down considerably. It seems most mobs can use them. The knock down and stuns are probably the most annoying ones I’ve encountered although not as dangerous as others like poison which inflict far to much damage than is necessary. Conditions need toning down that only a few mobs use them, and far less often. When 3 or more mobs attack that can use condition skills its always a fight to the death. Right now it seems every fight is the same old story repeating itself. Its far to frustrating and annoying that’s its simply not fun any more.
Waypoints seem to become excessivly more expensive as you level up. And im certainly not made of money. Why does it cost more for a high level character to travel from one waypoint to another? It’s rediculous. These waypoints need reviewing and the cost of travel reduced or reset back to the original costs.
Healing is something i like to do. It keeps me alive, or rather it does in the other games ive played. In GW2 my healing skill is underpowered and feels almost useless. It barely heals enough to keep me alive and the cooldown is overly long. With no healing potions i rely on my healing skill. I know alot of work went into the death system but i dont want to experiance it everyday i play. Im becoming extremly bored with dying all the time when i solo, which brings me on to the next suggestion…
Soloplay. Now im sure i read somewhere that the one of the devs said the game was solo friendly. Im sure i didnt imagine it. But soloing in GW2 is a little difficult for me compared to the many other MMOs ive played. One on one fights im fine with. Two mobs is tricky but i can handle it. Three or more mobs and its a fight to the death. Dodging is fine as long as you have the energy for it, but then your only allowed two dodges before the cooldown kicks in. Running around is fine to avoid hits but at a risk of attracting more mobs to the fight in a tight place like a cave where there are lots of tightly group mobs hanging about. Now im not sure how you can make it more solo friendly, except for perhaps implementing some of the suggestions i mention above, like reducing mob condition attacks and improve the player healing skill. It may not make it perfect but its a start.
Im glad im not the only one that finds it difficult. Now i dont mind a challenge now and then, but it seems im dying all the time in this game. Its simply to much that it has stopped being fun and become just frustrating instead, and frustration is just no fun at all. Some serious adjustments need to be made for me to even start considering returning to GW2. For now i think i’ll go back to another MMO.
