It is nonsense but beatable. The fact that you can just spam evades and kill someone even if its partially because the other person is bad is still bad game play. I mean just because you see so many baddie thieves trying to mimic this style of play tells you something is off with it. Classes need to be fixed so gimmicky bs isn’t needed to make them semi viable. A-net really fails in this department.
Not to get personal but just pointing at fact you have complained every season about matchmaking. I have a feeling there is nothing that they could do to make it acceptable to you because you are certain you should be able to do better then you are doing. Maybe you should be doing better or maybe you shouldn’t I dont know. However, its obvious to me that it’s never going to change significantly from how it works now. So to make a long story short you might want to think about playing another game because its never going to change radically from how it works right now imo. At least the matchmaking portion. I could see them changing how divisions work and pips etc but not how we get team A versus team B.

Far from most diverse ever. I would argue that its not particularly optimal to run Ranger, Guardian, or Thief regardless of what meta battle says.
I want whatever is the closest approximation of skill and imo thats being grouped with people your own skill level and taking on all comers within your pip range in the queue. The reason that might lead to a lot of blow outs is the smallish player base and the extremely wide discrepency in the level of skill between people. My experience with pvp in just about every game Ive played is about 1/3 of the playerbase are sharks and the rest are whales. Mixing in the sharks with the whales to help the whales win more games does nothing positive for ranking people according to skill level. The answer imo is for the whales to become sharks. All this presupposes we want league placement to be a reflection of skill. Its obvious that most don’t want it to be.
S1 was slow progress due to the 1 for 1 nature of it. Most of the progress came from smurfing like crazy. S3 appears to be much like S2 and it’s morally bankrupt. Forming teams by grouping similar MMR/glicko instead of mixing is what’s going to cause another unhealthy season of blowouts.
Its not morally bankrupt at all. What is morally bankrupt about grouping people of the same skill level together? Then you face the closest to you in pip range in the queue. You seem to want a system the rewards luck and grinding which is what season 1 did. It was bizarre to me how the level of play in a match in season 1 didn’t improve at all from amber through legendary. The reason it didn’t was because of a significant portion of nobs that grinded and got lucky getting significantly higher MMR players on there team enough to slide through playing a ludicrous amount of games.
You won’t beat a Revenant that is as good as you are and thats perfectly fine. People get way too caught up with x vs x this is a team game.
And so it begins. I give it about 1 full day before 1/3 of the posts are complaining about matchmaking. It happened in seasson 1 and it happened in season 2. Two games and already complaints?
They don’t have any intention of making this truly competitve. The minor changes they made for this season actually moved a little more away from it imo. Imagine the crying that would happen if people could lose divisions. Most people think they are entitled to winning more then half there games regardless of there skill level.
Nerfs were great and needed. The reason Revs keep getting nerfed is they are still better then just about every other class even after the nerfs. People don’t want to hear it but your lucky your not a guardian or warrior.
Is this a trick question? the answer is zero because no one plays them that actually wants to win 250k.
Grouch thinks guardians are a-ok in spvp. It’s a ludicrous position but he is the guy in charge not us peons.
No mercenary amulet, less tanky condition builds with higher health or tanky with low health. Within that trade off there is room for some of the shelved power builds to make their way into the meta.
Just an assertion. Played all my condition builds with other amulets really didn’t seem much weaker to me. Certainly not enough that bad power builds are going to come back in style because of it.
Well, idk if it was a typo but in your season 3 example. One side is grossly favored over the other by 7 point. How is that fair?
Its plenty fair. One of the ideas here, that you fail to grasp, is that A-net doesn’t want people to have to group with people much below there skill level. That happens and you start punishing the higher skill player. Conversely you have the chance for lower skilled players to get carried along to divisons they don’t belong in by higher skilled players. Because thats what’s really not fair those 2 things.
