Correct, and I’m very much looking forward to it.
We’re still recruiting and a number of us are going to be participating in this weekend’s beta event! If you’d like to playtest the Revenant running around with us, we’d be happy to take you along! Additionally, if any of the things we do as a guild sound good to you, feel free to talk to one of our officers about perhaps joining. We’re extremely casual and are willing to help basically anyone with anything. Additionally, we’re very familiar with busy work and real life schedules, so you really don’t have to worry about that if you’re busy too!
I understand the context for the immobilize vote, but I really don’t think it’s worthwhile. I cannot see immobilize requiring a ban in any form under any context. I’m with Cheezy that it’s ridiculous to have to wait for a boss to reach some predetermined spot before you can use a specific condition on him. The only way I would ever be okay with exception banning immobilize is if using it on some boss once resulted in the boss doing nothing else no matter what. Since that doesn’t describe any of the situations we’re voting on, I don’t think we should ban or restrict immobilize at all.
As for the reset, I still favor resetting everything. This has been the single largest balance patch in the game, and I’d want people who watch “current” videos to not be seeing a GW2 trait system so vastly different from what they experience in-game.

Too bad they nerfed downstate damage by 25%.
Axe skills only, unfortunately.
The idea is probably to unlock Unranked at like rank 5 and ranked at rank 20 or something. It should gradually ease you into the “higher skill” environments instead of having brand new players join ranked, wait 5 minutes in the queue, and then get obliterated repeatedly by dragons. This happens to a lot of people in games I play in, both on my team and against me. I genuinely feel bad for the ~50AP players who get into these games and then have that as their defining PvP experience in GW2.
Gain Life Force every time you cast a spell. Life Force gained: 1%?
This would be awesome for Signet of Undeath’s passive effect, actually.
The Lupi one shot is allowed as far as ANet cares. They don’t think it’s awesome that you can do it, but they don’t want to change the way the boss works, nor can they presently invest the time to change it in a meaningful enough way to correct it. It’s only disallowed because we, as a community, decided it was dumb.
ANet knows about the immobilizing of bosses before they reach their spots and has chosen not to do anything about it. They’ve also chosen not to say anything about it so if they decide to clean it up later no one will think twice.
I’m working on getting this stickied, btw.
I don’t think it’s exploity at all to immobilize and prevent a boss from getting to a trigger spot. If ANet didn’t want that to be a possibility, they’d make them invul when they start walking to their trigger spot, like the CoF p3 boss is.
No, really, greatsword is terrible. It’s only good in PvP because it applies decent pressure damage, can trigger Sigils of Fire/Air, and has extreme range. None of these things are relevant in PvE right now. Do yourself a favor and always run a sword mainhand; your weapon swaps should only be for different offhands.
You asked us for some advice, and this is it. If you want to argue about it, take it to the Mesmer forums.
I’ve experienced them bugging even when kept exactly where they spawn, too. I think an exception might make sense here, but I don’t want Nike to emerge from the abyss and get mad over another vote. o_o
I think it’s the intent. Pulling them behind that flower guarantees they bug… If the mob just stops doing things when you punch it in the face without doing anything wrong it’s a little less intentionaly bugged. Not sure what else to suggest.
Maybe we should vote on it! /s
I think case-by-case makes the most sense. Fire Magic is fine, although they’ll probably do something about that 150 Power at some point. Meanwhile, Symbolic Avenger and Grenadier are not fine.
I still think we should do a reset for the June 23 patch, but I’m not sure what everyone else thinks or if they think there has been enough time since patch to see if it’s “changed enough” (I think it has).
As for rule 10, just keep the rule but get rid of the examples.
We also haven’t performed a record reset yet. We’re waiting for metas to shake out and bugs to get fixed first.
You really think stacking up multiple puddles of damage was intended? I mean you’re right in that those traits are obviously working differently than described (though to be fair how often have tooltips been wrong?
) but, isn’t it pretty silly to still defend FGS after they spent the time to remove that type of effect from the game in all it’s forms?
I’m not defending old FGS, I am simply saying that nowhere did it behave inconsistently with how it was documented in-game to behave. We can only guess as to what was actually intended in such a case.
In the case of Symbolic Avenger and Grenadier, however, it is functioning explicitly contradictory to how it is documented in-game to behave, and also inconsistently with ANet’s explanations of what they should do in the Twitch previews. There is no guessing involved; these are bugs, and using them is the very definition of abusing an exploit. They won’t do anything to people using them, of course, but we shouldn’t allow them in record runs as a community.
FGS acted exactly as it was described to act in-game. Symbolic Avenger literally is functioning at about 10x what the description of the trait claims it should be doing in a five-man group and Grenadier based on its description should not be doing what it is doing to Grenade Barrage. The difference is clear in that FGS was working as intended and Symbolic Avenger and Grenade Barrage aren’t. Using these clearly bugged traits and skills in record runs is like trying to do record runs abusing this when it was a thing.
[VZ] is still recruiting! As usual, if any of the things we do interest you and if the type of guild we are interests you, talk to one of the officers! They’d be more than happy to see if you’re a good fit for the guild.
I believe ‘clever use of game mechanics’ is the appropriate term to use here :^)
Besides, the rules don’t say anything about utilising™ traits to their full potential. Perhaps we should have a voting whether or not to allow this as well?
Probably should, because ‘records’ made that abuse this bug are a complete farce.
I retain that the timer should start when you damage not just Bloomhunger, but any of its spirits as well. That said, good kill time.
I’ll be honest, I really enjoyed watching this format, but best of 5, best of 7, and best of 9 is really tedious and boring as a viewer. I am really surprised we don’t just do best of 3 for everything; that’s sufficient to show skill without dragging it on and on and on. The finals of the last tournament were really sluggish from a viewer perspective. Also worth noting I felt the tournament simply took too much time because of this.
Either way, looking forward to watching it again.
Also, it’s cool that HoT keys are included in the winning prizes.
The Well of Blood cast from Ritual of Life does not currently benefit from the Vampiric Rituals cooldown reduction and it should! Please fix, thanks!
Still a bug!
Necro should be still using assassins as well. But once Reaper comes that will be a bad idea.
For Reaper, it would be really neat if there were a Power/Ferocity/Condition Damage gear stat.
Fear the illumin-rT
This is really good.
Ursanway was definitely fun the first time you did it. Second time? Hrm.
Ultimately it depends on if you enjoyed the Ursan Blessing skill set in general or not. If you just used it for the lol factor, I could see it being boring second go around.
I’m not going to lie, this looks like the most fun thing ever and is just like Ursanway from GW1. I want to do this really badly.
Bumping this up so it doesn’t get lost in the new patch bug listing!
To be fair you use all of your cooldowns when they become available, but for me the most defining feature of a Warrior has always been Fast Hands weapon swapping. Without that it almost doesn’t feel like a Warrior to me. Oh well, I’m probably just being strange.
I expect Mesmer DPS to get hit marginally, I expect Engineer DPS to get hit substantially, and I expect Necro DPS to stay bad because they’re terrified of PvP Necro. That’s basically what I’m counting on in the coming weeks.
I’m just going to say that I hate GS camping PS Warrior with an undying passion.
The cooldown reduction of Perfect Inscriptions does not affect the signet cooldown in Wrath of Justice, and it should. Please fix!
So with the trait, there is no nerf to Lich Form. What exactly is everyone meaning when they say that it was a bad day for Necro then?
Because no good build will take that trait due to Vital Persistence being far and away more important. Thus, practically, it’s a nerf. Honestly, though, more people are complaining about the Plague/CC nerfs than anything. It doesn’t help that they botched Unholy Fervor and Mark of Evasion out of combat as well.
What about the SoV?
In PvE you’ll never take Signets of Suffering because Close to Death is too important. As a result, you won’t want to run Signet of Vampirism.
I’m thinking Well of Blood will be the optimal choice in PvE due to the DPS boost from Vampiric Rituals and the cooldown reduction. That said, I hate the light field.
OP, you could seriously do that before the patch already. SW is painfully easy unless you try to facetank like three Terragriffs or multiple Troll AOEs without dodging.
I have failed you all. ;-;
I’ll try very hard to get a lot of visibility on this for the next set of fixes.
They should rename it to Foul Feast.
I’m worried they may have spot changed it for some reason after working it through before. I’ve just contacted the right people, I only hope they get back to me before the patch hits.
This can’t be right. I worked with them on this, and they confirmed how we previously thought it worked was correct… I need to email someone right away.
I clarified option B. Hopefully it now indicates that only affected paths would get reseted.
I’m not sure if we could draw any conclusions whether current record are still beatable even if few records get beaten. It’s hard to estimate which records are hard to beat, especially after patch.
I am okay with doing what Nike suggests and having no immediate reset and “seeing what things look like” for a week or two. After that I’m not exactly sure how we’d go about determining which paths should be reset and which shouldn’t be reset if that option gets voted in. Some might be obvious, but I’d really like to avoid having to go to a vote on the matter in the closer cases… That just seems like a ton of extra work for no value.
I tried to PM this to you but your inbox is full. Apologies to the thread owner and readers.
I fixed this, so if you decide to respond to this you may do so by PM.
Your comment contributed nothing to the discussion.
…
Your post served no purpose but to incite a response and, well, here it is.
Except my comment was me doing part of what ANet asked me to do by giving me those scant few words on my nameplate. I’m not a moderator, but I’m asked to watch threads like this one and report to the community team when people are distracting discussions or generally derailing threads and, yes, it’s important that I post comments like this instead of PMing them so everyone knows it’s not okay. If the issue you had with the OP is resolved then great! In that case no response is needed to this post, and I’ll take that as your understanding of the situation. Thanks for the response.
I only made two statements.
1. Words mean things to different people.
2. One activity could take the place of another it terms of the fulfillment you get from said activity. (ie. I enjoy activity A because B! ANet introduces activity C which includes B! I now prefer activity C.)Which of those do you disagree with and, please, explain.
If these are the only points you’ve made then they contribute nothing to the discussion. Please, if you would like to discuss what you’re going for here, PM Gern and hash it out there. Keep the discussion here about raids and their general value and not the nitpicks of the implementation or principle of the thing.
I have been obscenely busy both with forum reports and out-of-game stuff and unable to do much reviewing these past several days. If there are still any pending by this weekend I will approve them then and set them up as if they were done prior to the patch. Thank you for that list, Enko.
As for resets, I’ve always felt that resets should happen when major balance changes happen, buff or nerf. The logic there is that if things are stronger after a patch a record could theoretically be beaten, but it doesn’t make sense when viewing the records to see things in a before and after state next to the major patch… We should absolutely reset come Tuesday, regardless of whether it was a buff, a nerf, or whatever, and it should be a complete reset. It is simply too large in scope to do anything but a full reset.
So did you use a different tag than your normal guild tags just to make life difficult on the approvers? :P
We didnt meant to do that. ^^
But the guildname kinda reflects the issue we had.
A record doesn’t have to be owned by one guild in our current system. We could have it show all of your respective guilds as owners of the record if you’d prefer that to using [want]. If you do prefer [want], we can also do that, of course, lol.
So did you use a different tag than your normal guild tags just to make life difficult on the approvers? :P
Even with a mere 30HP/hit heal, that means a fully cleaving 100B will heal 720 HP… and that’s just one ally. This trait is far more powerful than you’re giving it credit for.
Master of Corruption: Corruption skills recharge 33% faster, apply an extra condition to you, and apply resistance to you for 4 seconds.
