Ahaha, yeah, honestly, our organisation on Piken outside of the guilds isn’t prime. Big kudos to Riverside for that, you guys always seem to know what to do and get everything done whether or not there appears to be a commander present. I don’t think our random friendlies can keep up with these higher tiers, we climbed way too fast.

And in all honesty, I don’t want SM For winning points sure, but for the sake of fun? I’d nuke the kitten thing off the map. It somehow manages to soak up about 50 people running about inside repairing the walls like headless chickens.

But if you have genuine screenshots of wall-jumping or any exploits/hacking, let us know/show me. I’m sure none of our large guilds condone it, and even if it’s randoms, we’ll do our best to report.

Piken always gets double-teamed in EB, we’re very used to it. Also heard about the apparent “pact” between our opponents to ally up against us :P
Seen lots of complaints about how Piken apparently hacks inside towers. I think many people don’t understand what mesmer portals are. If we’re using some new tactics against you that you’ve never seen before, well, you gotta up your game, not whine about it.

Still, despite having a long Saturday of constant outmanned buffs, we’ve been having some epic fights. Many 3-ways going on!
I was pleased to see that, after spending ages trebbing it down and putting all the work in, Riverside didn’t allow Augury Rock to come along and steal Anzalias.

I hope all the whining comes to a stop and people enjoy the week for the great fights. Piken Square doesn’t have the 24hr coverage to win this week, same as last, but you’ll see us hopefully in full force around primetime

Short story for FS.

Once upon a time, there was an EB on the Piken Square server. It had no leaders and no guilds on it. Just randoms that gathered in small group scattered across the map. Amongst those randoms, there was a scout. He would tell of enemy movements, say how many there were, directing ppl there to defend.
People started recognizing this scout, and started to listen to the scout. He was there every day, just telling numbers and directing people.
Then the scout got a guildinvite from a new WvW guild, and got promoted to officer.
The newfound officer started directing bigger things, such as attacks on towers. And people still followed him. He earned their respect by making good decisions and in return they followed him to the end of the map and back if he so desired.
Unfortunately, the guild didnt last long, cause of an inactive leader, so the fresh officer decided to start his own guild, and unite all the randoms in the EB, under a single banner.

That scout was me, and i am now leader of Goodgame [GG], the guild that is pretty much Solo running the EB for Piken Square. Quite succesfully i might add, holding our third is quite a challenge since we have to spread out across the map, but I am proud of all of my members.

Just an inspiring short story for all the FS out there, i hope you guys get your act back together.

Dude, trust me, I was just there communicating with my guys. Both the mesmer and thief were inside the tower, thief stealthed around the back of the tower. The thief did not bug through the gate.

There was no bugging through the gate with this. I believe he is moaning about something that happened just now at Quentin.

Both the thief and mesmer hid inside the tower when you took it. The mesmer portal’d our guys inside. Standard stuff.

That is because Piken left EB in the capable hands of GG and few other capable guilds. I don’t visit EB often, but form what i have seen, they are doing a remarkable job.

It will be sad to see Kodash leave this tier, they were an excellent antagonist of this week’s story.

Yes, GG is always around and kicking, but our percentage of friendlies in the map has dropped hugely ever since the Lost Shores/Fractals shenanigans :P We do our best to hold our third but most of the time we just don’t have the numbers to be able to push out and attack either.

It doesn’t help when one of Piken’s own commanders decided to troll EB last night and waste the upgrading keep’s resources building a line of rams out of the keep supply depot all the way to Stonemist. Doh.

A largely entertaining part of WvW for me has gone ever since they removed the ability to whisper people. The 100% anonymity now sucks kitten Used to whisper people after good fights or whenever something awesome happened.

And FS saying they don’t have enough people to cover maps? Lol… I see plenty FS. Piken doesn’t even have queues in EB at primetime anymore.

Primetime was good today! Pretty even points from all sides. I can understand if you had a bad starting weekend, made worse by the pve event, but things have definitely picked up. We’re having some great fights.

JS still has these weird late-night zergs, though. Pretty sure Canadian. :P

The only reason this matchup isn’t much fun is because there is simply different slots in the 24hr timeframe that different servers dominate.

Maybe 3pm-2am is Piken. 3am-7am is Jade Sea. 8am-1pm seems to be Augury Rock. Rough examples not exact.

This is just not entertaining. We all get empty maps to claim when it’s our “time”, with maybe a few straggling defenders. Why can’t all our forces be online at the same time to duke it out? For “EU” servers you seem to have a lot of Canadians, JS and AR…

Piken Square: being the newbie/lowest ranked server in a next tier up and roflstomping opposition. :P

Maybe taking out reinforced gates with pure dps and no siege.

Or recently having about 7+ commanders in a map at one time… perhaps 2 of which knowing what they’re doing.

I’ve personally not bothered, same for most of my guild… last week we ran with 5-10 guildies, though after spending multiple hours in queues on Sunday, it’s just a hassle. I’d rather we didn’t get stomped, but I would sooner be able to get all our guildies in for an evening of PvP than have fragments of different guilds with no co-ordination thanks to an influx of fairweather-ers.

This is mostly my opinion as well. I’m not so fussed about the scored or about climbing tiers, that will happen naturally if we play well. All I want to do in WvW is play with guildies and friends, have fun and have good fights. The fantastic and memorable fights are always what matter in the end, not the server’s score.

AM seemed to have some nightcapping revolution going on with 8 or so golems tonight.

I personally hope that PS gets smashed by the French on reset and that a heavy defeat will make all the fairweathers go away.

We have not been having a good time in WvW the past few days. It’s getting to the point of being more stress than it’s worth. Some of my guild members are getting really burnt out.

Even with commander badge asking people to get on me, it takes 10 mins for people to get where they’re needed and set up a treb on cliff to take out Overlook trebs. Unfortunately for you AM, your guys on mortars and trebs seemed to be awful aims so once my treb was FINALLY up I took out 2 mortars and 4 trebs with mine left on a sliver of health. If AM guys hadn’t missed so many shots it would’ve gone horribly. This is but an example of the mess on Piken EB at the moment. It was not like this even a few days ago. It’s plummeting.

I am expecting us to get steamrolled in the next tier up.

Well if tonight was any sign of the impact of all these transfers, we certainly felt it.

Primetime in EB was stressful as hell. We had little organisation, chaos everywhere. Everybody in Piken normally knows what to do but it just felt as though we had a lot of clueless ones here this night.
SM was being attacked both north and south and people would not listen, draining supplies needlessly. My guild did what it could but we were struggling to get our people in with the kitten queues. We eventually turned offensive into the best defence.

We managed to hold out, and as queues dropped by later evening and we got more people in, GG at least had great fun taking Quentin and holding it for hours. Even as GG members drained off to bed, other Pikens rallied with those of us remaining and held Quentin in an epic effort even after both a wall and gate were down. This was the real Piken we know, and it made me proud. Beautiful regular faces

I gotta say that sometimes it just feels like Piken holds out longer than the other guys. Our morale is strong and we don’t give up. Some real nice tries tonight AM and Gunnars

Sighhh why all the transfers? I hear we had an ex-Gunnar commander running about in EB telling us how he still had access to Gunnar’s “secret forums”. It’s like the new kid in school who thinks he’s gonna make friends giving out candy.

Please have some server pride and stick with your home, guys.

So, what started as 3 Pikens being bored and doing a jumping puzzle turned into an assault on Gunnar’s EB keep.

Gunnar’s worked hard to eventually get our trebuchet down. We continued on the ground with a cata. Just as we were getting the gate down, we got outnumbered from behind by some AM’s trying to steal the keep from us, riding on the back of our hard work!

Piken persevered, we wiped Abbadon’s Mouth and took our kitten well-deserved keep.

I’m not sure what all this talk about Gunnars and Piken working together is. I’m sure it’s just coincidence – 2nd place is usually the worst place to be, as 1st will try to stop you overtaking and hammer you down, and 3rd will often target you thinking you are weaker than 1st and closer to overtake.

Evil and GG in EB were_ targeting Gunnars a lot this evening, at least Thanks muchly to Evil for working with us and letting us work with them, was a blast.

I’m sorry if you’re feeling ganged upon though, AM. People like you Maartac, are why I like AM more than Gunnars, but shhh :P Let’s meet up for more duels sometime!

Thanks to GH ankittenhis week, by far the most enjoyable WvW matchup I’ve been in so far. Had some really great fights. And I think its helped PS come together as a WvW force as well. Especially getting revenge on AM

It was a good night, the back and forth pushing on the bridge at Langor was some of the best action you can get. I guess AM’s lines just broke before ours, your attempted flank in Danelon backfired. But yeah, AM did manage a nice rush on SM earlier in the day… luckily we got it back 10-15 mins later

I’ll second that this has been a great week, and good for the Piken server, too.

The server has really came together this past month be it RP pugs having an adventure and toughing it out in WvW or the big WvW guilds working closely. We might never get past T6 and drop back to T9 but we will have fun with our friends and community doing it <3

This is turning out to be such a great week. Close scores and great battles. I don’t know about other servers but I know that many of us on Piken are loving it.

Some of us crazy GG are staying up to 7am and beyond to combat the night-capping as best we can.

Don’t try stealing our guys, Gunnars We got great community going on Piken.

I don’t mean to be offensive but all I really got from each of your complaints is that you are not a fantastic player who has also been playing with frustratingly bad players, so it’s no wonder you’ve had a bad time.

I’m sorry you don’t like the game, but I for one am glad we simply didn’t get a GW1 clone. I loved GW1, I played it for years, but by now I am ready for something new and fresh. I love all of the aspects you complained about, except for magic find armour.

Hopefully GW1 will be kept up and alive for years to come so you can continue playing it. GW1 was a great game., but please don’t moan at Anet for trying new things and being a little innovating , I support things advancing and moving forwards. GW2 is a great game but it seems as though you’re looking through clouded glasses because you expected it to be the same as GW1.

You also missed the point. There may be no Cantha expansions. Nobody was expecting Cantha at launch.

It’s sad to see that you don’t even read said essay to get a grip on what he is talking about.
What his essay is ABOUT is the fact that the whole of Cantha may be scrapped by Anet and we will never see it in expansions to come. At all.

Ahh, I see! I wasn’t really very fussed about missed rewards, so if I could’ve had an option to say “leave me out of the reset” I would’ve.

I had an issue around lvl 40 of my personal story where a few missions got skipped. I logged out on a 42 quest, logged back in to see it at 48. I contacted support but never got a response, figured meh, I may as well keep playing. My friend has been playing the exact same route as me so I could still play with him and see the missions I missed.

This was a while ago. Maybe 3 weeks? After the patch yesterday, I have noticed, that my personal story has now in contrary, gone backwards. I was on a lvl 75 mission or so, and it’s now sat on on the lvl 26 one, “The Sad Tale of the Ravenous”.

I’m a bit like what.
