You might try to dmz your computer when you play, see if that makes any difference, then you’ll know for sure if its a port problem. I dmz mine every time I play anyway, yeah I know the risks….

Theres also a program I use/installed called Leatrix Latency, has worked great for gw2 and FF xiv.

Welcome to the world of computer gaming/mmo’s, if you want to be involved in these types of games on the computer, yes your going to have to be your own tech support most of the time, just the way it is. Try to look at it as a learning experience when issues pop up…

I have to say I think making the WvW maps part of the world map completion was a mistake. I love the game but I have no interest in the WvW part but attempting to complete the world map is incredibly irritating whilst continually being attacked by other players. Surely there could be something introduced to highlight a players is simply in the region for map completion purposes and not to join in the general battling.

Oh yes, I agree 100 percent. I just hate WvW, I’ve spent the last two weeks working on getting the map completion and its been a real pain….I have one poi left and have not been able to get it to it the last two days…

Your idea won’t work with the highlighted players for map completion as most of the poi’s/vistas you need are in contested or captured areas by other servers. So unless you join in to try and capture that area you pretty much out of luck…

Looks good, I have that cooler on an i7 3770k, runs very cool. I"ve never seen it above 50 playing gw2. I don’t have it oc’d. Also looks good on the Asus MB, been using Asus for years for my builds.

Also have that memory too which is working great, you’ll have to enable xmp in your uefi bios to get it to run at 1600.

If you can afford it I would recommend an SSD though, I’m sure you’ve considered it…

So here it is again. In the screenshot you can see when I scroll down to see the rest of my storyline, the quests dissapear.

So is this a bug or is it an issue on my end?

Okay, heres little old me running around trying to get map completion done in WvW. I think its hilarious that I get zerged by 10-20 people that chase me down and kill me.

Would some explain why I matter that much?

I’m at the Victory or Death quest on my story line. Is this the same as the story mode at Arah? I already did the story mode once, before I had gotten to this in the storyline….So I take it I have to do it all over again to finish the storyline out?

I’m having an issue with the My Story interface, when I scroll the finished quests down to see the rest of them and the current one they dissapear. It happens right when the scroll bar gets to its bottom of the “gauge”.

If I scroll back up I can see some of them again…

lol, you can get to lvl 80 in less then a day if you wanted. All you have to do is buy crafting mats, some xp boost’s, and sit and craft all the way to 80

Could someone explain how this ascended gear works? For Instance Khilbron’s Phylactery has +50 Precision, +50 Toughness and +71 Condition damage. Then down below those stats are more stats in white with the same Precision, Toughness and Condition damage with some extra stats on those.

Why are there seperate stats down below the main stats, Is there some sort of extra gear you need for those extra stats to kick in?

Your download and upload speeds won’t matter, what matters is your ping. If you can find out the ip address where the servers are located and then do a ping in your cmd prompt you’ll know how much of a difference it is

I would like to start farming something that I could either sell on the Trading Post or that will be worthwhile for crafting one of the better weapons.

After reading all these issues about people getting banned for trying to farm items I’m paranoid that it will happen to me if I try this….which is pretty sad…

I highly recommend you to get the Avast! Free Antivirus over MSE. MSE isn’t doing good at the moment. You can read more about it on the web, MSE is very very basic.

Avast is excellent, lightweight and gamer mode feature just like few other AV that has it as well but Avast is by far the most stable solid AV.

I’ve been gaming on any games with Avast! Free for months and now in 2013, I ended up buying Avast Internet Security to support them.

Hence the MBAM along with MSE…

I’m currently using MSE and am having no issues at all with it running while playing GW2. ESET is a good program also, I think they have a gaming mode now.

One other program I use along side of MSE is Malwarebytes Antimalware, those two play nicely together, but I don’t have that one running when I’m gaming, just MSE

Yeah, I wouldn’t have a clue why that was banned. Names are a real pain, I spent probably an hour making my first name for my main character because of that and every one I tried was taken…

I’m using the display driver version 306.97 with version 3.0.4 of precision x and the game is running flawlessly. No crashes, freezes, with around 180 hours of play.

My card is a 560ti and use fan profiling curve on the precision x to keep the card running cool. So you might try and downgrade to those drivers and that version of precision

I was about the post something along the same line. I’ve never been banned, but man it does make me really paranoid after reading post after post…

Sometimes I log in just to see if I still can lol

Oh and the fear of being hacked also…

Heres a great utility that I found that will disable core parking without having to mess around with the registry yourself

After your run it, check status, and unpark, be sure and reboot

It sounds like something is running in the background on your computer and taking over. Be sure and disable anything you don’t need running while your are gaming.

You don’t have to bet if you don’t want too, just say you don’t want to wager each time he asks…after he’s done experimenting again he will ask Tigh to go get more cows. Then you can interact with the catapult

Could you please give the full specs on your laptop. You’ll need a pretty hefty cpu if you want to run the game decent, along with ram and a stand alone video.

Couple of other things to try first. Make sure you have ahci enabled on the hard drive in your bios. Make sure you have the latest bios update on your computer, and lastely make sure you have the latest firmware on your ssd.

If your still having problems then try and the clean install.

Okay, yeah it finished with them going through the portal. Although they do need to fix this and have them go back to him in the corral

game doesn’t even look all that impressive graphic wise; why would it need such a high end gaming platform? looks mediocre graphics yet also runs like molasses.

I disagree also, the graphics are amazing at max settings. I never understand why some people complain about this. If you want to game on a pc you need good high end hardware….this includes a monitor with either DVI or HDMI inputs.

There is a bug with this quest, I can capture the dolyak calves just fine but when you try and “walk” them back to Maxtoar all they do is just head to portal to the next area. I’ve tried this 5 times now and still the same thing everytime…

Actually the long bow is because there’s a trait you can unlock that will give you longer range and more damage…

Why on earth would you get banned for extended unattended play…whatever that means…

I see so many topics about can this or that laptop run the game. Why do people insist on gaming on a laptop? I just don’t see it….yes some people have fair luck running on a laptop but so many just wind up frustrated because it looks like crap or they have to lower the settings way down just to run it..

Do yourself a favor, build your own tower, its really easy….like legos:)

If you still have not been able to enable the E-mail Authentication, then here is how you do it.
1. Log in to you GW2 Account Manager and go to My Account.
2. Go to the Security option.
3. Click the Enable Authentication Email. and follow the steps.

I also have this issue and posted about it but it got merged into another thread and now no answer either… I know I didn’t enable the e-mail authentication but when I do as above theres just an option for the mobile app and down below it is just my recent log ip and time…There is no Enable Authentication Email
