Sorry if this has been gone over before, I just got my first smart phone and have been setting apps up on it. Decided to try the google authenticator for my gw2 account.
I got everything set up, seemed to be fine. I scanned the barcode and entered in the number and it said everything was confirmed. The app is generating codes okay, currently for g-mail and gw2.
I’m not being prompted though to enter a code either on the site or the game log-in. I assume this is by design because it was authorized on this computer hence not having to enter a code every time? Or, is something not working right?
I’m having trouble too this morning. Has always worked in the past, using same CC double checking info, waiting, and almost immediately after clicking confirm a page comes up that payment failed.
It isn’t even going through to the CC company as I just called them and they aren’t showing any pending transactions. I tried it 3 times failed each time. So nothing wrong on my end, info or my cc.
I thought they were bugged at first, but I don’t think they are. If you get to a new tower that you haven’t already gotten and the chest is open, all you have to do is wait for the event to cycle and participate in the event. Once you do that the chest will be closed and you can get it.
Okay, either I’m extremely lucky or something because I bought a 5 pack of keys, had 20 chests built up. I wound up with 2 Black Lion Claim Tickets. I thought this was suppose to be a rare drop?
Wound up getting the skins for the long and short bow…
This is what I’ve been doing, while farming most of the world events/ bosses or drops in general.
I keep all the rare weapons and throw those in the forge and salvage everything else. Works out very well that way and I’m not spending huge amounts of gold. I haven’t gotten a precursor yet though…
Now, don’t get me wrong. I like the idea of this whole thing. And I know there are some bugs as the first chest awards you with +1 Magic Find that’s not displaying in the bonus window.
However…
My first achievement chest contained: one glory booster, one 10-slot bag, one Sip of Liquid Karma and then the suite of copper tier gathering tools.
Er…copper gathering tools? That’s not very epic or rewarding. Especially as they’re worth nothing and I have all my main toons kitted out with the perma tools.
Is this what everyone got for the first chest or did some of you get something different?
I’m hoping the other chests tomorrow will contain something a bit better than that.
The first chest, 100 point, does not give you a 1% magic find permaboost. Its the second 500 point chest that does that
I’m confused as to how this works. It’s not very well explained in-game. Say I have 5000 points. Do I then get my retroactive chests like: day 1: 100 pt chest, day 2: 500 pt chest, day 3: 1000 pt chest etc etc, and after 2500 there will be a 3000 one etc going up to 5000? Or, do I get the 100 pt chest, then 500 etc and it all adds up to my 5000 points, meaning i will get 100+500+1000+1500+2000=5100 achieve points?
Well…… I got a chest with 1 gold and a laurel (looks like 500 ap chest)
and a chest was in my inventory with a load of boosters a revive orb and repair can…
soooo looks like I got 100ap and 500ap today….
to clarify, I think the fact nobody is getting the perm stat boost is a bug.
No you only got the 100 point chest, you only get one reward per day if you look on your achievment and hover your mouse over the 500 point chest it shows the 1% magic bonus. If you got the 500 point chest it would show over there on account bonuses the magic increase
Okay I got my 100 point chest today and I see the retroactive is once per day.
The line of chests show 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500. I have 3,842 points, will I get all those rewards then to 2500 or does it keep adding points to the total: 100, 600, 1600 etc.
If people do get all of them to 2500 what about above that? Some people have 8 k…

Yes don’t reply to it, this is a mass phising e-mail they are sending out. I got one on an e-mail account that has never been associated with the game. That’s why its called “phishing” they don’t know what or if they are going to catch someone or if your playing the game..
Just got that same crash also, was just standing in Frostgorge waiting for Jormag to pop. I did get the option to send the crash report to Anet so I did do that. Have never gotten a crash like and have been playing around 6 months steady…
Running an I7 3770k, Z77 Sabertooth, 560 Ti, 8 gigs of Corsair Vengance, nothing overclocked.
I figured as much, I was alarmed purely because they had somehow hijacked the official email address hence it showing up as on my safe list.
They didn’t highjack our email address. They are simply inputting it as the sender. Anyone can do that. I could send a mail as Robert E. Lee, Catherine the Great, or Captain Kirk. So could you. This is because the sender name is never verified against the sending address.
So as a savvy email user, don’t look at what it says but examine the email’s behind-the-scenes properties by doing a right-click and then reviewing “properties” on the popup. You’ll see who really sent the mail, and in these cases, it’s not us!
This, got a phishing e-mail yesterday to an e-mail that wasn’t even associated with gw2, thought that was pretty funny…but it holds true they are just sending out mass e-mails to everybody even if they don’t know if your playing gw2 or not.
And I did look at the properties, had some weird www address and looked up the ip it came from it was in Asia, so yeah, pretty easy to do to see where it came from….but, it did look kitten official
Actually I’ve noticed the opposite after this last patch. My GPU has been running with more of a load, have seen an increase in fan speed as its been running warmer then usual.
I’ve seen it at 99% in different areas in the game….
regardless of how you got it, a fused weapon sends the message that you gambled 100$ of RL money on it. Legendaries while purchasable with RL money still have an element of farming and in game pride. These things will be released regularly so Fused weapon is the first of many many one time skins that have to be gambled for. Unless you are a Dubai prince or something you won’t be able to obtain them all so just get whatever you want. No one at any time in the future will care if you have a fused weapon I promise and it doesn’t make you look more elite ever.
They all look average (preference is irrelevant, that’s the truth). If they were on a dungeon token they would would be one of the least popular sets. Not to mention that’s one single weapon on one alt.
Actually, thats not true in my case. I got lucky and got two of them and put them on my long and short bow. I only used 5 keys on around 20 chests as I got keys in the chests also.
This is on the Dragonbrand server, went to the guild promoter just now to buy some influence and the npc says I’m not representing any guild which its obvious that I am. It shows up at the login that I’m representing.

And No I’m not going to try and stand down and represent, last time I did that I couldn’t get the represent to work so I was left without a guild till you guys got it fixed last time.
In all the zones and places I have been, Lions Arch really heats my GPU (560 Ti). That’s something being worked on? Or I have to deal with it. (72 celcius )
Other places its around 52 celcius.

I have a 560ti also, and it does get in the lower 70’s in some area’s too. I have a good ventilated case, even have two side fans blowing on to the video card area. Its a Silverstone tower. The 560ti’s cooling isn’t the best as its exhausting heat out both ends of the card not just out the back. I’ve not had any issues at all running at those temps.
One thing, make sure you enable the fan curve option on your precision interface and adjust it so the curve pretty much heads up at at 45 degree angle. My fan percentage usually matches the Celsius temp.
1) Down-levelling. If you’re down levelled it will show the health you currently have, not your actual health. If you go to a city or any exploreable area where you can be your actual level it will show your real health. It’s also on the Hero tab.
2) WvW bonuses. One of the bonuses you can get (Robust) increases your maximum health. If your world has been doing worse recently and has a slightly lower percentage on that bonus your total health will be lower. Again look at the Hero tab to see the actual value.
3) Less likely you wouldn’t have noticed but make sure you haven’t changed any traits that affect your health, switched to a weapon set with less vitality, etc.

The ss was taken in Lions Arch and thats where I’m at today when I looked.
On march 12th, I had made a bowyers delight and took a screenshot. My health showed 24,032. Since then I’ve added two ascended pieces which had considerably more vitality on them then the ones I had before. I think it was a ring and an accessory. No other changes to my gear, skills, traits, etc. has been done. Also didn’t have any buffs, food, etc. on either when I took the screenshot. Wasn’t in any group either.
Today my health shows 24,026. Any ideas why it went down?
I guess I should add, this is on a lvl 80 sylvari Ranger
Just a suggestion, and I swear by these, they have saved me countless times.
Get a UPS, an Uninterruptible Power Supply and one that will power your computer for at least 15 minutes and better yet 30 minutes. They also save wear and tear on your computer from sudden outages, power spikes, brownouts, etc.
I even have a seperate one that just powers the dsl and router boxes.
download speed is quite fast tho. im clocking at 1.30MB/s (not Mbps) atm.
Yes, it may be for you, but not for everybody… For some reason everybody thinks we all have these screaming connections. As the op said, he said he has a slow connection, so do I.
Glad you didn’t role a ranger for pve , you’d quit the game the second day playing.
I kinda get what your saying….this game doesn’t have vertical progression dude. Its all about mastering your build/class.
I know that you want to feel uber powerful and stuff but in gw2 only way to do that is to find a really great build and fully utilize it.
My only problem with this game is that their literally are no skins worth striving for. I have been playing since launch like a lot of people and in that time dungeon skins are easy to come by. Theres no armor skins / weapon skins that look really cool that are very challenging(content wise) to get. By content I am not talking about farming for 100 kitten charged lodestones to get a skin.
Also theres no way to show off in this game sadly. When I see a person with a legendary I don’t go “ohhh this player is awesome he must be good” I go “wow this dude got wayy to much time on his hands”
Oh and btw your a warrior you should never feel weak in pve. Change your build/find a new one or go full zeker. If a warrior can solo lupicious you should never complain about your class feeling weak in pve. In spvp/wvw you can complain all you want tho since you guys are horrible in those areas
Interesting, been playing a ranger since day one. I have no issues at all, pretty much cleared the map on my own. Did my storyline solo till the Dungeon. Not once have I felt weak in PVE except for a few of the bounty hunts. So not sure why people have such an issue playing rangers, only thing I can think of is they either don’t know what they are doing and or their build is way off…
I love playing ranger and will not even touch anything else.
Oh I have the new fused skins on my bows from the black lion chests. They look cool as hell:)
Ranger IS horrible.
Even the devs know that, just look around in threads.

No, it’s not. Just play warrior for pve or mesmer/thief for wvw. You don’t need any other class for anything else.
The content in this game is doable with 1-2 classes.

Well once again, issues on Dragonbrand with SB spawning. I wish you guys would fix this, do you monitor this stuff at all?
It really gets old to try and get to these events early so I don’t get into an overflow and then stand around for close to 2 hours waiting for it to spawn and nothing.
And please don’t give me an infraction for bumping this, just trying to get this resolved..
