I tried to do this and none of my toons had ever done this and I got credit for a Living Story achievement but not for the daily. I submitted a bug report, maybe it will even help. Anet is constantly helping me to lower my expectations by making this stuff happen.

I actually would like Ellen to win, and I am glad she is winning but a support ticket is 14 silver; no need to hope for a drop, etc. I am being realistic; there are way too many ppl in game that have a lot of money and want more money. The discounted keys will lead to more skins to sell and they will buy the election b/c of that. So I have detached from my desire for her to win.

Election=gold sink; the election can be paid for by the ppl that want more keys, the richest folks in the game. Of course ANet supports this b/c it’s a needed gold sink. It’s a done deal that Evon will win, lol.

Yeah I don’t like all the mini games or the JP’s but they keep coming, why bother to complain. It’s nice that a Dev responded, twice even, but I have really lowered my expectations and I highly recommend that to all the folks that play. There are many promises made for improvements to LS and to the game and IMO they are not delivered on.

I think this guy’s right. It’s all about the BL keys, whale’s want keys, the richest peep’s who make 1000’s of gold on the TP want more keys, heck the gold sellers want more keys, b/c keys get you rare skins and that’s money. So do not get too excited over the “content” that the candidates offer b/c it does not matter, the election is already paid for “buy” them’s that have the money to buy the election. It’s no big deal

Well we engineers are known for our bugs. Here I am on Southsun beach smoking a Charr, w/a bomb kit. They are used everywhere for this; not so good against mobs that fight back but we Engineers will fight the bug’s on the land and the beaches until ANet makes us great, lol.

I get the OP’s point and I agree w/the part about the Radiant/Hellfire skins. Am fine w/the other rewards, though. I did some math:
LS releases 250AP/2weeks, 26x/year= 6500 AP for a year
So if I do all the new content and this is not possible imo for me, I will have 12, 000 next summer (I already am at about 6500 now). I really can’t be too excited for the new skins since at BEST I will only have 4 pieces and I think I would look pretty lame like that. So CoF P1 rules if ya want a complete outfit, and good luck, best wishes to all the folks that are more interested in being an Achievement hunter BTW there are a few folks on the forum that are already annoyed at that, lol.

I went there for the Lost Shores event on my newly 80 Engy and I survived thru the fight and got an exotic for my trouble. I was hoping for better from this return to Southsun but there was massive culling and lagging. Took a week to finally be able to kill the Queen and for my trouble I got the achievement but NO chest, nothing , nada. I am really disappointed and I do not plan to go there for the event again ever! And on my server-ET she has not been done for 360 hours, so guess that says it all. But, hey it’s new content and ppl are crying for harder content all the time on the forums, so I am glad for them. I measure risk vs rewards and Anet has been nothing but nerfs for the last 6+ months to rewards. The waypoint costs and the repair bills there hugely outweigh any reason to go IMO. Same rewards off deer, boars, insects etc as a Vet or a Champ or most of the DE’s and no use for Karma since all the vendors are dead or behind DE’s that have no rewards. LOL, none of the areas are worth much let alone Southsun atm.

I thought that the events were awful, especially b/c I fought the Queen and got the achievement but NO chest spawned for me and I was under the queen on a Bomb/Healing engy and I lived through the whole thing-I was doing damage. Then I do Subdirector Null and no chest there, either. NO point in these events, was a waste of time.

There was no chest there for me and no “Lightfoot” achievement but at least I saw the content. I also helped kill the Karka Queen and no chest there, either. Anet fail.

One thing related to Mr Ordon’s reply is that many months ago ppl were complaining about the high rates of respawns all over the world and the response was it’s all WAI, in my head etc; even though I would literally kill something and watch a new mobs respawn instantly. Took time to get used to this and was told LtP a lot. I guess if no one was upset at Player’s dying and ppl were getting loot and loving it; the respawn rates would have been turned down back then, lol.

I am disappointed that I did not get to have more time to try to do the Canach/Noll events, five days is too short. I usually have disconnect and massive lag at world bosses so I am not even gonna bother w/this.

I have tried this solo dungeon and I died a lot, thanks for your effort for the folks. I wish there was more time to do this but Anet only gave a week, the mobs around the entrance are too many to even get to the instance to try and when I am in there I just die. So the whole point of the Southsun “experience” is a fail in my opinion. I do not know why Anet thinks that every one can just do all their content in a week. They have no brains.

I seem to have read somewhere that the Dev’s were planning to give more Laurels related to the Achievements that ppl had accomplished; but that they had to figure out how to make it fair considering some folks have salvaged 10k+ items and have a lot of achievement points that are only focused in one area

This Daily was easy for me; I clicked on the Laurel vendor and that was done, gatherered some wood and killed 50 mobs, went to the place north of Nebo on the Gendarran map where all the dead Serrif are and rezzed them and did some events; the events took the longest. BTW that Pirate event on the bridge that was bugged forever was running; haha too bad I got there and they Pirates had killed all the caravan. Nice to see it was working.

I found the new Daily was as easy as the previous ones but I had to practice dodging. I healed NPC’s that were at the events I did, no prob there. I can make 2 copper ore into and ingot: TP was SELLING the ore for 15 copper pieces each but the copper ingots were selling for 33 copper each; I did not have to do that one but I would have made more money that way. Am sorry that so many of you folks are having a hard time. The dodge thing may help me to avoid dying at the Thaumanova reactor though…

I was on Diessa Plateau finally doing my dailies and I saw what appear to be “campfire” locations. There is a new tab on my Hero panel that says I should lit campfires, gather mementos and aid the migration; but thanks Anet for the notice that there is nothing happening til tomorrow. I guess it will be a lot like Punkin carving, as the tab lists 4 tiers…

I have to agree, I have also fought Vets and Champs and I have never gotten much from them so I mostly avoid them unless there are a lot of others there to pile on. The rewards suck and worse if you die there’s the double penalty of repair costs and way point costs which are scaled to your level >.< ouch. Even the event reward makes it pointless, er WAI: Anet’s gold sink, lol.

I think that the game may also be RNG Mastery as many doofuses like me who swing a sword or a mining pick can still win the Lotto of the game and get a Precursor and then we are back in the running, lol. I have had a lot of lessening of expectations as the game has unfolded; I guess that this is part of it. The chance to get mats to make a legendary are so random now and this is sadly the only alternative.

I found this one by accident but it is not all that: candycorn, onyx fragment, iron bar and a chattering skull= Minor rune of the Mad King. the mats cost more than it is worth by a lot

I agree that the personal story was hard for me. My main is a human engineer and when I was doing the same quest the Enos referred to: Seeking Logan’s Aid I have died multiple times to a champ boss and have had no help from Logan in the fight. After the umpteenth death I have given up, was at the point of a rage-quit, but I like the game so I am waiting till I am 80 and have all the best gear, etc. I was upset at the repair costs etc. I may not even bother since the rewards as reported by the folks on various threads are meager or quickly out-leveled. I do not see the point in making myself fight so hard for so little.

I was in Queensdale, doing the daily achievements and I fell through the map and ended up in water. I used a waypoint and fell through that to water. It first happened running from the merchant that gives the collect skale eggs quest along the river, but before I got to the Monestary. I had to pay to go to a way point and then I was dropped through the map again, I had to buy a few more trips to other waypoints before I got one that did not drop me through the map. Was costly to me in copper for this; hope the rest of ya’ll have a better time
