I am on HoD from day 1 and one thing I really love about playing wvw in this server atm is that…
There is no queue! No matter if it is prime time, off peak, weak days, weak ends, morning, afternoon or night time… THERE IS NO QUEUE.
Anyone can teach me how to LEAP away from enemy?
I mean I am using Savage Leap as an escape tool in WvW but I keep Leaping into enemy and make it even easier for them to kill me lol. Please help.
Gee… that is not right at all. If I do not like something I should just shut up and go away? I am not allowed to voice out my dislike?
Where are we? North Korea?
I was really frustrated with button binding as well. I literally spent the first week of the game doing nothing but trying different key binds.
I finally gave up and bought a 6 buttons mouse. It helps a lot.
Hi Yojack, thanks for the build.
Do you think a full set of shaman armor with sapphire jewelry is viable with your traits (0/25/15/30/0). Thanks.
I started playing on 28 August 2012 and on the same day I received 3 letters from gold sellers.
I was wondering… how can they be that fast? How do they know where to farm in a totally new game? How can they accumulate huge amount of gold to sell in just 2 days?
Same thing happened to me in D3. On 15 May 2012, I think I received at least 3 friend requests from gold sellers on that day. I talked to one of them and they said they can sell 80M to me. On the first day? 80M? Really?
I mean… how do they get huge amount of in game currency in just a few days in brand new games?
Gee… I kinda miss those letters… because for some reasons they attach a free copper to their letters…
Sorry OP not meant to take over your thread but I really want to know this.
L70 atm, use sword/warhorn/rifle, full get of shaman gears, all sapphire jewelry, all +healing runes. Traits: 0/30/0/30/0 going for 0/30/10/30/0 at L80
Am I doing it wrong?
I also want to know this.
If I put 30 in tactic and get shouts heal, should I also get all +healing gears / runes / accessories to get the most out of shouts heal?
Thanks.
Found this while looking for warrior vids.
Watch the last minute or so.
What am I seeing there? Warrior + thief against ONE Guardian and the Guardian won?
OP is attempting to divert the attention of the development team to protect his class.
I think it should be like this:
Pay to travel to a waypoint from anywhere in the world.
Free to travel to another waypoint when you are standing on one.
Quote: Warriors outdamage you, and are immensely harder to kill. Have great support. Best melee in the game.
You answered your own question.
In Everquest1, I played as a ranger from day 1. Worst class, weakest of all, until they buffed up archery years after, but then I was gone.
In Everquest2, I played as a shaman from day 1. Worst class, weakest of all, period.
Switched to WOW, picked shaman again, BIG mistake.
In Diablo 3, witch doctor… nuff said.
Now, in GW2, I started as a warrior. Will my fate change?
The very first thing I do EVERYDAY when I log into the game… is to click the mail icon and DELETE all the mails sent by them gold sellers.
All these forums are the same… people constantly make threats to leave and quit. Why?
I am only 2 weeks into this game and so far I find myself not wanting to play it as much as I would in games like Everquest, Ultima Online, Skyrim and Diablo. I remember the days back when I was playing Everquest 1&2, everyday I was so eager to get off work as early as possible so that I could rush home to play them. GW2 does not make me want to do that.
1) The graphics
It is very cartoonish and everything looks so colorful and bright. All characters look like some out of proportion Japanese animated prince and princess. Arts is very subjective and everything come down to matter of personal taste. So it is neither good nor bad. I just need some time getting use to it.
2) The controls
I spent the first 10 days in this game trying to figure out the best key binds for moving around and combating. Since combats are usually fast, everything can come and go in split seconds, I can no longer do it the old ways by clicking icons on the screen with the cursor. For a fast action MMO, it could be a real challenge for me since there are just way too many keys I need to worry about. It can be quite frustrating at time and I find this part of the game… not fun at all.
3) Combats
10 days into the game, playing about 2 hours per day, I am now OK with my key bindings and I can fnally put that aside and start to actually enjoy the game. Combat in general is quite easy. For any monsters close to your level, you can just stand still face tank with auto attack and win. For anything higher than your level or an event mini boss, you just die. However, there are still ways to defeat them. If it is a one on one battle, I can just auto attack while running around the monster circling very close to his body and win. This method works like 100% of every battle with a red named monster. But the first 30-50 battles were like: cool~~~ after doing it the exact same way for a 100 times… things start to get a little… hmmm…
4) Rewards
I can not get anything that I can use for the first 12 levels. Every pieces of armor and weapon I got form mob kills are not useable by my class. When it takes a bit too long to take down mobs and things are getting a little dull, I bought full upgrades from the trading post and I keep wanting to do that. It is like, I am not killing monsters for gears and upgrades, I am killing them for coppers and silvers to spend on the trading post for stuff I want. The basic idea behind RGP is somehow twisted here. It does not feel right and it does not feel rewarding. As a result, it is not fun.
5) Questing
Personal quest is a very innovative idea in MMO. I enjoy playing this part of the game very much. A job well done here. However, the rest of the generic public quests are just the same thing over and over with different location and theme. Pick up those apples on the field, pick up them branches, gather me some grapes… and the dynamic quests are the same thing keep repeating endlessly, protect this wagon from 10 waves of bandits and monsters… bamb bamb bamb… big skill spamming feast one after another, no plan no tactic no feeling of excitement and no feeling of accomplishment.
I can not complaint too much for a buy to play no monthly fee game. It is just that I read so many overwhelmingly good reviews about it, the angry jo reviews was the trigger point for me to buy it, people keep saying GW2 is the next generation of MMO, the graphic is stunningly beautiful, the ideas are so fresh and innovative etc etc etc… well… maybe it is true for some… but just not me.
Easy. Learn to hotkey.
Im not sure if tooltips can be turned off. If they can, it will be in your ingame options panel.
Excuse me?
When I put my cursor on a skill, an information box pops up. How do I turn this function off? Thanks.
Jesus Christ you people… the OP presented his subjective opinions with long and sincere posts and you people just replied him with tl;dr and told him to get out of here?
Do you people even know what forums are for?
No I am very serious. However, it is just my personal opinion, nothing more.
I was really disappointed the first time I visited Divinity’s Reach. I can not believe a game made in 2012 has such low level of details and textures. Everything looks so flat and plain that I felt as if I was back in Felwithe (the first city I visited 12 years ago in EQ1).
People keep saying this game has beautiful graphics and great level of details… I feel completely the opposite.
The arts is very cartoonish. It looks like a Japanese Anime with bad Disney Clones. Every characters in the game is like prince and princess in Fairy Land. Everything looks so plain, fake and 2D especially when I am inside a city, everything looks as if I am back 12 years ago playing EQ1 all over again.
I just bought the game via internet purchase and the client is downloading the game very slowly. I was wondering if I restart my computer, will it continue to download from where it stop?
Thank you.
