It was a lot of fun fighting you during my short time in VoTF. You guys always brought it as hard, if not harder, than any other opponent I’ve ever faced.
Best of luck in all your future endeavors, Scnd members, whether it be here with the return of RG, later, or in Wildstar. I only wish that we could have fought (APeX vs Scnd) before you all decided to go. Would have been great fun and a good learning experience for us.
All the best.

Thanks for the GvG [SF]! Looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
Also, awesome 3 way server brawl after the GvG, was a load of fun. We should make this a weekly cross server brawling event!
APeX would gladly throw down for that. Sounds like tons of fun.
Thanks to [FEAR] (TID) for the GvG scrims. It was good fun. Footage coming soon with a few POV’s.

Oh my gosh… Hey, I’m the APeX raid leader and I just want to clarify a few things.
There is no real reason to argue over numbers in the open field. The point of the open field is to have engagements with what you’ve got. If you have more, then more power to you; if you have less, then you better be ready to run or buckle down and fight hard. With the level at which APeX and RET both run, there really is no real reason to argue over who had more or less. The difference is marginal at best, being only a 2 or 3 member split more times than not. Obviously, that makes it harder on the smaller force, but nobody is keeping score in open field engagements and we’re all just looking to have fun, so let’s just fight and have a good time with it.
The night I made the post, we had a few engagements where we would hit RET alone and FEAR would swoop in and train through us with about 30 extra people. Because of this, I made a bitter comment in a public forum that I only regret because of the way it was taken. I understand that if FEAR did it of their own accord, then that’s that; RET has no control over what people do outside of their guild and I understand that.
I have since spoken with a couple members of RET, one in particular being Thundercat (I believe?), and we had nothing but nice words shared. I think that behind this whole debacle, we have a mutual respect for one another. I believe that our engagements, when we see one another in the field, and we both halt up and ready ourselves, exemplifies this point well.
At some point RET and APeX will have a GvG, but it will not be to settle any scores. It will happen because we know we both bring each other a challenge and it would allow us to hone our individual skill sets and have some really good fights. I have nothing bad to say about RET, and I hope the same can be said about us. I consider anyone who can effectively run a good composition with small-medium numbers an ally in the push for an overall better game experience for GW2.
Wish everyone all the best, and we’ll see you on the field … but like, right after dinner. I’m hungry as fak

We’ve been rolling with 7-9 all night. Feel free to count us at any point. Should be fairly quick and easy to do so. When we have been able to fight just RET its been good fun. It was just a bad phase where a few times when we engaged a few LAW would come in and ruin it and I’m assuming that’s why you had FEAR start coming in to help.
Noticed your main driver is also offline as well.
It’s all fine. See you on the field
Authorized Shoutcaster for ArenaNet, ESL, and DPS
I don’t get it. RET is a GvG guild but every time we go to engage with equal numbers, FEAR comes rolling in with 30… Why?
Lol

Interesting. I was at work the entire evening and just got home, it would seem I missed the opportunity to fight this new [BDF]. Looking forward to crossing paths in the future.
It’ll be interesting and fun to see Apex field 15-25 while keeping the same quality as you do now, or better (I for one believe playing better today than yesterday is something that any “open field regular” should be cognizant of). I personally have fun fighting you guys and look forward to a more leveled field when we clash in the future hopefully.
Yeah I’m not one for politics, but I heard TW had a sort-of split into that new guild RET, but ever since that happened I think both guilds have shined. We’ve fought RET and TW and both seem to have a good idea of what they’re doing. And I agree, it definitely will be interesting. Looking forward to that day after putting in so much work to build it up to this point for sure. And as for our quality, we’ll always be bringing it just as hard, if not harder, than any raid prior.
All the best, see ya on the field.

Appreciate the compliment, hints. Watched a few of the clips. It was interesting to see it from another perspective and to hear our opponent talk about us midfight. “25-30 BEHIND YOU ON THE BRIDGE!” (That was actually 11 APeX and thats it lol). We only ran 12 max tonight but it was a lot of fun. Keep the fights coming! Hopefully we’ll be able to close up the numbers gap between our two groups and see what it would look like then.
All the best.

Tons of fun tonight all around. Thanks to the JQ/SoR guilds that fought hard all night with us on JQBL. See ya tomorrow for some more.

Well, if that’s the case, then why are we letting this become a debacle over server vs. server? I doubt very much that most members of their respective servers promote or endorse the behaviors of the rather tiny minority, so why let the actions of the few be the voice for the many? In the words of Gandhi himself, “Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
I see a lot of bashing and mudslinging going back and forth, but typically always between the same set group of individuals. Maybe you should focus your anger towards them and remember that nobody else really cares enough to be setting out on personal vendettas against rival servers. Most of us enjoy the competition and leave it all on the field where it belongs.
Just a thought. All the best.

Amazing fights tonight in JQBL, some of the most intense fights ever. Hope to have more in the future thanks to; HB, ICoa, APex, and HzH!
Don’t really know where y’all came from to be honest, but glad you’re here now. APeX was battling so much skill lag and a horrible comp for the night (2 guardians was our entire front line for the whole night :< ), but rest assured we are definitely looking forward to seeing more of DN in the future.
Also, it’s been nice seeing HzH break off from the pack to fight as a guild lately. We’ve had a few fights with them and although they need some work, they’re definitely going in the right direction.
All the best, and see ya on the field.

Looking for warriors and guardians to fill our roster.
Still recruiting only exceptional players of other classes.Of what classes? I have 4 level 80’s, (engineer, guardian, thief, ranger) but the one I am best at is ranger, worked kitten it. Is team riot not interested in rangers at all? Otherwise, I’d have to go with one of my others.
While we do have lots of friends in RIOT, we are not RIOT. I cannot speak for them unfortunately. Ranger is typically useless in large scale scenarios so we are not recruiting any at this time.

I’d just like to say that the blanket comments in regards to blobbing, lack of skill, etc. really don’t hold much water and are somewhat disrespectful in my opinion. I mean, as a server, we are not infallible in the slightest. Blackgate is a huge community and has arguably the largest amount of coverage in NA due to the overtime that some guilds are willing to pull during off-peak hours and makes us susceptible to blobbing during primetime hours, sure, but don’t write off the exceptions to this.
APeX, RIOT, oPP, etc., have always ran low numbers and play just for fights just as you all say that you do. If you’ve seen us on the field, you’d probably agree.
While I don’t personally give a gorilla’s musty kitten that we won Season 1 of WvW, Blackgate did put in an effort to achieve that title and it was earned no matter what anyone says. If you’re like me and don’t care, then why bother insulting them about it? Just enjoy what you play the game to enjoy; there’s no harm in that.
Congratulations Blackgate on your victory.

Had a great time on SoRBL.
At first, FEAR/TW and SF had no shame in blobbing hard, but once the GvG started we had great fights against TW, Nude, and FEAR with our little 10man.
After the GvG, SF got a little less bloodthirsty and stopped zerging us too :PAll in all, good fun. Thanks for the numerous fights, Nude.
Dunno how we could have been “blobbing” before the GvG… We were all prepping and going over GvG material..and the map was outmanned when we joined it…
You crazy drunk bacca, dont’cha know anything and everything is a blob these days?
I was there when Apex was sitting at the rock, pretty sure we went at you guys solo before we pulled off to watch Choo and then attend our own GvG. Still, good fights at the rock Apex!
Sorry, I guess to clarify, to us anything over 30 is what we consider a blob, seeing as we run 10-15 at the moment. And I was referring to after the GvG actually when you guys were chasing us around south Ruins for a few minutes with ~30+. It was good fun though, some of my guys were crapping their pants when they walked up the stairs just to have you guys turn and storm right at us haha.
And yeah, TW, those were some fun fights. I actually spoke to Indo between some of our engagements and discussed numbers and I think it was 9v14 at the time. You guys definitely impressed us a bit though! I think we only managed to down a very small lot of you in our fights early in the night. I’d really like to catch you guys sometime offseason when we can field the same numbers because you brought us a challenge for sure.
And to Jed, we actually have only ran 15 max to date. Typically we only field 8-12 or so; still building the roster and all that.

Why do people get mad about server recruitment?
As far as I see it, it’s always just going to equal out to be more fights for my guild so any server can have at it for all I care.
T1 balance? What a joke. That will never truly happen because as even as the coverage may be, every server suffers from fairweather dropout when they begin to lose the matchup. Not to mention, there is hardly any reward at all for the ppt warfare beyond bragging rights, so why bother?
I don’t know when this all turned to hell, but I seriously don’t see the point in mudslinging the way that everyone is. It’s akin to a college football rivalry. We get it. You have team pride. If you lost, its because of kittenty circumstances and dirty plays by your opponent. We’re all in the same boat, every server has the same issues and the same excuses. Stop taking the kitten and get back to fighting. I need more gold and bags are my only income.

Why is everyone on BG talking kitten about the PPT like anyone on Mag/SoS gives a dook? Guys, they’re like t2/3 and have like abysmal coverage in comparison. The real war here is on the field, not in the scoreboard.
I know APeX and guilds like us are in it for the excitement of the fights. The t1 meta is extremely boring and its been fun seeing some alternatives and getting in good fights because of it.
We had good fun with EE, PYRO, Agg, CNB, and aZn tonight. We definitely got a few great clips from tonight with our 10man force and we hope you all did too.

APeX Prime is now recruiting exceptionally skilled individuals with an interest in highly-coordinated outnumbered play in the WvWvW environment.
About APeX Prime
APeX Prime was created by two longstanding and active Blackgate community and BG War Council members who sought to create something brand new to NA and pioneer a shift in the current meta. APeX exists as a highly prestigious convergence of talented and elite gamers. The concept of APeX was founded on a highly competitive approach to gaming. In fostering that approach we will harbor an unequivocal culture of excellence and aspire to be a superlative team of well-rounded players.
APeX Prime’s focus is foremost to be the absolute pinnacle in Guild Wars 2 – North America. To achieve this, we will train together in order to develop cohesion and learn together to enhance our individual skill levels. Furthermore, APeX aims to be a medium for longstanding friendships and to be a welcoming home to like-minded individuals looking to better themselves and their team members.
Most importantly, we seek to be the perfect balance of a highly-skilled team and a genuinely fun environment. While APeX Prime does focus on an elite level of play, we do not have any desire for attitudes that are derived from elitism. Enjoying ourselves and each other is just as much of a priority as winning.
Recruitment Information
As a member of APeX, you can expect:
- Highly coordinated group play with a core of 20-30 members on the field.
- Consistent daily raids at 6pm server time.
- Frequent trainings, both individual and team, to help you build your individual skill set and develop a cohesion within the group.
- To be part of a well balanced and open-minded team where everyone has a voice.
- Full transparency. Members will be aware of things that are happening within the guild.
- A leadership team with experience in leading large and influential guilds since the launch of GW2.
- Very knowledgeable and skilled commanders. These individuals have extensive experience with leading and being a member of highly skilled guilds in GW2.
As a member of APeX, we expect:
- 100% rep during raid times.
- An age of 18+.
- Frequent, if not daily, attendance (this will be determined on a case by case basis, but individuals who do not attend frequently do not fit with what we are trying to accomplish, and will be removed from the guild).
- A high level of maturity and respect for others. Flagrant intolerance will in turn be met by flagrant intolerance.
- An openness to direction in terms of play, builds, etc.
- Absolutely no kittening. Complaints are just veiled excuses for poor play and will not be tolerated. We will take any loss or handicaps with dignity and never slander our opponents because of them.
- Full communication during raids. APeX requires the use of TeamSpeak to communicate with each other. Communication on the field is highly imperative.
- A commitment to the mission of APeX and dedication to the guild.
We will always have room for phenomenal players, no matter our recruitment situation.

I have been having a lot of issues with connection, rubberbanding, disconnecting, etc., for the past few days. I saw that most players having the same issues as me all had Verizon as their ISP.
I spoke with a tech at Verizon and, to my complete surprise, my issue has been fixed!
“********(17:08:28): If the issue persist again you need to refer to game server support. Because I see that the 2nd HOP is fine, then there is no issue with the Verizon network.
********(17:08:59): I increased signal strength from my end to maximum 11. And did reboot router and ONT.
********(17:09:29): I checked with my network team based on trace router command.”
The ONT reboot was what fixed my issues somehow. Makes no sense to me, but it worked for me. So I’m posting this in hopes that you can have your problems fixed in the same way.
I’ll post here later and fill you in on whether or not this is a definite fix, but so far I have noticed no rubberbanding, no delay and no disconnects.
Good luck everyone. You’re not alone.

I’m gonna second this if I may. I tried contacting tech support with my diagnostic report attached and all I got back was a spoonfed machine response of “please send us your diagnostic report”… even though I did.
It would help a lot just to hear that it’s being looked at. I don’t need a miracle hotfix, just some clarity on the situation.
Thank you.

Has anyone seen any speed hacks lately? A mesmer in GOF was able to outrun my ranger while I had signet of the hunt active. They were not running staff and would warp about 10 yards forward every 2 or 3 seconds.
Do you have screenshots and/or video of this alleged hacker? GoF does not permit nor condone the usage of any sort of third party software that puts us at any sort of advantage. If this statement is true, I would personally see to them simultaneously getting kicked from the guild and banned from the game.
