Your servers mesmers that were portaling people up were pulling people off the stairs, there were about 4 other noobs camping underneath the chest. Luckily they were noobs and couldn’t kill an ele.

Here I’ll be completely honest with you this time, thieves in WvWvW are no help at all, you would be better suited to reroll an engineer or necro, they are best for helping out your team. Good luck and stay safe out there!

I just got the game yesterday and have spent all my time in spvp working out what classes I like, I think im going with thief.

So I wanted to know in reguard for WvW i see it seems to use your PvE character and then boosts dmg to max lvl? But i still need pve levels to have skills and traits etc.

So my question is, is WvW not worth doing until i have grinded PvE to max level?

Im not a big fan of questing but it seems the fastest way to level so i guess ill have to so I can be optimal in WvW?

So you went with the most overpowered class in the game, congratulations.
You can now run around in WvW at whatever level you are with no gear and still win every fight you come across. Just make sure you hit all your keys before they die to throw in some variety.

On a more “serious” note, I’ve had no problem starting WvWvW at lvl 2 and still winning against some people. Run with the zerg and you won’t have any issues.

Just wanted to point out, I was there… When you have a 10+ Siege Golem Army parading around the map you make them a target. I don’t remember seeing DB at Briar. Thinking about it they would obviously be there defending that tower because it was right outside their spawn and they would want to defend it. It was all red names and golems and we were pretty much just focused on the golems because the theory was after taking Briar they would go to Bay next which was our last keep on the map and those golems had already cut through our 2 other keeps like they were butter.

I could see DB thinking the same thing: DH has golems taking our tower, kill the golems and wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of them didn’t realize we had come in trying to put some dmg on the golems.

I laugh at all the double-teaming talk. We may need to go back to calling it World vs World VS WORLD. I’m under the constant feeling of being double teamed because hey… there are two other servers here fighting…

I’m starting to thinkittentlefeather is delusional. If they did indeed have 10+ golems trampling both DB and NSP objectives on YOUR borderland, why would ANYONE on the opposing teams continue to let that happen? Everyone was doing what they we supposed to be doing during that time it sounds lol. What’s he complaining about?

You’re basically saying zergs would stop using portals to bypass siege mechanics? I fail to see the problem. This video demonstrates how the skill was intended to be used; as a kiting utility.

Yes I did. The only time a portal limit is susceptible to griefing the way you suggested is when you’re bypassing WvW mechanics, and in doing so you deserve it imho.

Speaking as a mesmer, no other class brings one ability that you need to have in order to be competitive or play WvW in any meaningful way at the moment.

No one says “When is Supply Drop up?” or “Warrior X, is your fear me up?”, because no other class has one utility that is used as absurdly as portals at the moment.

If they input other utilities that match portals, they would be fine (like engineers being able to repair siege). As it is, groups without mesmers (if there are any, as every serious group even plays alt mesmers than maybe something they’d rather play) suffer a lot than those who don’t.

Limiting portal to 5 makes the best sense, at least that would require a bit more coordination and encourage people to act within their groups in a squad rather than follow and stack on the blue icon.

Writing this made me think of something else, portal is two way, limiting it to 5 would mean that it would need to be made 1 way. Which would essentially bring the skill to uselessness and would never be used in any situation ever.

As I have stated before, I am happy that DH and NSP are here with us. You both have made this bracket fun to play in and it never gets dull. I’m pretty sure that happens not because anyone is scared, but because we both know you have a strong early morning presence, while both our servers have literally none. Meaning you control all the maps for 4-5 hours. Every server gets its turn being double teamed at some point in the day.

I see Zergs wiped by AOE every night as it is, I can only imagine the devestation with no cap. But hey I have all 3 classes I mentioned in my last post so go for it, but mark my words the game would suffer greatly. Warhammer and Bright Wizards has shown what can happen when AOE is too powerful. I know alot of people that quit that game just because of it.

Those zergs that get wiped by AoE aren’t properly abusing the mechanics. If they would simply stand on top of each other (thereby taking advantage of the AoE cap) they would be much safer. Throw in a bunch of healing as well and there is your zerg that is not phased by AoE.

Massive groups die to AoE when they spread out (like common sense would tell you to do when dealing with AoE). Rather than avoiding the AoE, spreading out and trying to avoid the AoE actually focuses more of the AoE effects and damage on you.

The AoE cap will not effect big zergs that are spread out, it only effects the ones that are very concentrated… which which completely defies common sense.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Lets use an example with you using your aoe skills on a zerg. You use your first aoe and it hits 4 people, but guess what, the zerg was spread out. You use your second aoe, it hits 3 people. Those 2 aoe skills you used were on a spread out zerg.

Now its time for you to use aoe on a zerg thats standing on top of each other. You use aoe #1, it hits 5 people. Then aoe #2 hits 5 people.

Its the same…wait a second…

I agree 99% with adding more gear specifically from WvW. However keep them as aesthetics. (since you mentioned better than ascended)

I’ll probably just quit the game if Anet listens to tall these whiners. Nerf nerf nerf kills a game, while buff, create, rework makes the game last longer. It also removes all competitiveness and makes the game cookie cutter like someone else said.
