Sorry, that was somewhat my bad.

Awesome battle for SM control tonight. DH held as long as we could thanks in large part to the superior siege from Littlefeather and others but DB overwhelmed us and took it back after like a 3-4 hour fight. Was fun playing back on my PC and as a commander for the first time. No more laggy WvW for me.

Dragonbrand was getting double-teamed hard in Eternal Battlegrounds after the reset, but we managed to hold Overlook Keep even with NSP camping our spawn with siege and DH breaching the inner gate multiple times. Kudos to all of those involved.

General consensus was that they must be scared of DB in order to work together and try to wipe us off the map like that!

That’s certainly the case. Both NSP and DH wanted to push DB off the map(s) during prime-time, so that our strong night/early morning team didn’t have a foothold to work with. Double-teaming is a regular occurrence in WvW – I only brought it up because this case it seemed abnormally brutal and organized, with both servers almost entirely focused on us for at least 4 hours (when I logged off). I don’t think I saw an enemy tower change hands even once.

As someone on NSP last night at the tail end of the “double teaming,” I was actively encouraging pressure on DB instead of DH because pushing DB off the map entirely, and delaying their Oceanic crew from starting their pushback makes it more likely we can hold something overnight.

My guild is looking to transfer to this tier. I was wondering if it would be welcomed as we’d prefer not to step on toes.

If you guys could describe who’s stronger during which time slot and your open world PvE/Dungeon population, that’d be greatly appreciated.

Oh and Queue time information during 8pm-12am EST for each server! Please don’t understate your queue times.

Dragonbrand has an organized primetime WvW force, but we’re typically outnumbered by others in our tier. We make up for that with a strong oceanic/asian presence in the off-hours. Queue times? Pretty much nonexistent, unless we’ve all consolidated onto a single map. In which case you have three others to choose from. Though at your mentioned time slots you may be running into our asian/oceanic crew, which may or may not have more regular queues.

New guilds are welcomed with open arms, as long as they have a good attitude. We aren’t the types to encourage server-hopping, so I hope you have a very good reason for it.

Dragonbrand has sometimes been called an “unofficial PvE server”, so we do have a lot of players that are focused on dungeons and such. The atmosphere tends to be casual. Fractals have had a significant impact on the amount of players in open-world PvE, but I think that holds true for all servers.

[Db] Don’t look down on the night and day time team. We fought as hard as we can through so much resistance to keep our borderland. It isn’t that we’re not strong at that time ….its just that the offensive from both servers [nsp and dh] are overwhelming during those times.

A few commanders such as myself were actually on 8-14 hours that day fighting against overwhelming odds. Only to be rewarded with failed battles not because we’re incapable but we chose to fight even through we are outnumbered.

Drop the exploit topic. Don’t screw up this thread, or this matchup. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn’t. It doesn’t matter because it’s done now. Anet should have it patched soon enough. We’ve managed to have some excellent battles with this matchup, and kept our discussion threads mostly clean so far. I’d like to keep it that way.

I have no idea how well they’d do there, but I think a sizable shift in players to their server would push them up a tier. A big enough shift to any of the servers would have a chance to move anyone up that level, but I think DB is the biggest threat to move because of their population timing.

On topic of guild looking to transfer it’s great that you guys are looking here instead of the normal top tiered servers! And some more for NSP as said our WVW prescence is primarily eastern US time and could really use a good WVW focused western guild that would help a ton later into the night!
For PVE content there’s always plenty of people doing fractals and usually a large group looking for the other dungeon runs to as well as people fighting in Arah, Orr, and last I’ve seen still decent amount in Lost shores
Any of the 3 servers you choose though is a great choice and hope you like your new home

I would have to agree with this post. we used to be a T2 server but lost a massive oceanic guild to blackgate and then 7 huge NA guilds to SOS the next week. been a hard fall but we have started to find our pace now.

if we got a couple NA guilds we could make some major moves. of course i kinda like the carefree pace of the lower tiers.

also i would have to hold fast against the horde of NA servers that just thrash us during that time hehe.

Can’t say much for Darkhaven morning and daytime, since I’m not online then. We tend to be a very active throughout all of NA primetime with some coverage later at night. We normally develop a lead shortly after NA primetime. During primetime, we usually have a short queue for EBG. Other maps rarely have a queue unless we have multiple guilds flooding it.

WvW guilds on Darkhaven tend to be mostly independent, but support each other when help is needed and we do coordinate to get good map coverage. Lately we’ve been trying to get new guilds and PUGs up to speed.

My server, Fort Aspenwood, has spent a lot of time in T4 (we are T3 now) and even fought DB in T4 once. In a way, they are already a T4 server. They’ve done well against Maguuma in all of the fights they had together. In the fight that had FA in it, DB managed a surprise second place finish against Maguuma. They are also doing well against DH which itself has done okay in T4. The problem with T4 is that it gets dominated by T3 servers. And there happens to be four T3 servers leaving one of them to hang out in T4. To do well in T4, you essentially have to become a T3 server. Otherwise, you are better off in this tier where the matches are closer. That said, DB is the best candidate for building a competitive server for T4. They have a good off peak team. More NA guilds are what they need.

Been fun so far. had a blast defending garrison against DB around 10am pst.

Also as to the 40 man guild thing I only have a couple things to say.

1: If you come to darkhaven and play at the times you said then youw ill right with our peak time which we currently are strong.

2: What we gain during those times you should probably be prepared to loose over night or in the morning since we have hardly any coverage from about 4am – 12pm pst time, of course weekends differ.

Also i’d just like to say that everyone will try and sell there server so scouting on your own would be the best bet. Any of these 3 servers would be a good choice seeing as all 3 have lost alot of people to other servers. Of course if you went to dragonbrand you would have the oceanic coverage though so thats always a + for you. For us…well we have a banana commander that likes to ‘get freaky’ lol

no joke he actually says that when he gets in the map…pretty funny.

As for NSP, well I have had fun fighting them in the past and present. It sucks that they lost a couple of there guilds, first to us in the past and then some more later on.

Unsure of other time frames, but I can speak for my guild as our main prime time is from 4 PM PST to 2ish AM PST, our numbers drop as time goes on though. In that time frame, for the most part NSP and DB are organized but not on all maps. NSP still has more numbers than DB on at that time as well. When we go to sleep (Guild) is when DB strikes back with 4-6K Point lead, then DH takes back the lead, mostly back n forth like that lol. NSP is there but just fall slightly short of DH’s score during NA Primetime atm.

DB has pretty decent coverage during NA primetime, NSP has more numbers during primetime than DB for NA, and DH is mostly NA Primetime. If any server has the advantage for primetime its DB. Sooner than later NA Servers will really be EU/Asian servers lol. But DH is good the way it is, we actually had some server jumpers join us during our 5 match win streak then jump ship after we lost against FA, but any of these servers in T5 would loose against FA anyways with their non stop coverage.

None of us want that to happen again, If we get to T4 again, I want it to be with our own efforts, from people who stay on DH. Our PUG’s just need a bit more grooming ;p

Great fights tonight in WvW. Dragonbrand going down to Creek, then the fights in the tunnels. Had to leave early, but in the time I was there it was great fun. It would be more fun if DH had a larger nighttime force so we could be more evenly matched, but such is life.

I’m amazed we managed to hold SM for that long tonight despite the outer walls being down for what ended up being around two hours. NSP might have fared better if we could have gotten people to stop robbing SM supply to try rebuild those walls while they were being trebbed.

Me and two others theives were doing that Syeria lol. We were taking out the Dolyaks from getting to SM. You guys also like our tower of death near NSP keep.

That’s not what I meant. We had 4 or 5 people on NSP that kept taking supply out of SM the second it came in (before workers could get it) and repairing the walls without anyone attacking the trebs. The walls would go up for 4 or 5 seconds and come back down. It had the added bonus of blocking our ground based siege (mostly ballistas) from attacking and taking away the planned escape route from a lot of defenders.

It’s unfortunate that there’s no way to prevent that sort of thing from happening, but that’s a topic for another thread…

When DB was in first, point denial still had value, but it was more important for them to build up as many points as they could, so they’d be best off attacking targets based upon best opportunity instead. Also, it was a slightly different tactic than had been taken last week, and what we did last week evidently didn’t work so there was no real loss if this method doesn’t pan out either.

Somewhat ironically, DH might have been better off allowing NSP to keep SM earlier this evening as it was fairly far down the upgrade path, and better equipped to defend against DB’s night crew. With DH taking it and resetting it to unupgraded, it’ll probably be easy pickings for DB now (if they haven’t already taken it).

It could work, except it seems to me, you’re being a bit overzealous:) You push DB too hard, and then DH swoops in and takes everything too quickly during NA prime time. Not to mention DH produces big golem train/zerg every now and then and sweeps through the land anyway even without your help. Then, once there is no more DB they go to your own BL and kill your point gain there for a while before going to bed. You’re giving DH more time to get more during their prime time and that more comes from NSP.

That fight at Quentin Lake was pretty awesome tonight. I got the whole zerg into QL right as NSP flipped it and we had an awesome in door brawl. Very fun even though we lost. Love to see stuff like that happen must of had 50 something people in one tiny tower.

I will continue to do the same every night till it stops. You will notice the proof of this by the widening gap between DB and NSP. So your strategy is not working. Either way, DB has stood their ground on their own. We do not need to double team on another server to win or get where we are.

lol? You’re in second place (or you were last night*). Of course NSP wants to attack you as they are trying to gain second place. And guess what? We on DH attack you to secure our place as first and to lower the impact your large night and morning presence has on the scoreboard.

The so called double teaming is not intentional, you can believe that. So don’t take it personal, k?

When ever that happens, change the last number in the url -1. If its 2, put it 1. It’s a forum bug that Anet is to lazy to fix. It happens when they remove posts. The Forum thinks it should be page 2 but it is still page one. They Hide a post.. they do not delete.
