How is the PvP team not involved in balancing their own game mode!
The PvP team is a sales and marketing team comprised of brand and community managers, not designers. As you would expect in any other context, sales and marketing give feedback to, but do not have control over, design and development.
I think there’s a perfectly valid complaint that the balance team is not keeping up with the evolving demands of the game. The individual balance changes and bug fixes that have been made since the departure of John Peters have generally been really good – well targeted at real problems with appropriate fixes – but the scope of balance passes has been too limited for a 3 month release cycle.
Still, that’s an argument for funneling resources to or restructuring the balance team, not for handing design authority over to the marketing team.
I can accept that argument, but my primary point still stands.
Balance philosophy needs to change. Anet needs to properly balance PvP independent of the other game modes.
It’s the only way that PvP can possibly thrive in the long-term. Otherwise, PvP will die.
like i said why not make players use their pve gear, stats, and skills. works for gws 1 and thats been running 10 years…you use what you are wearing that you have earned.
Like Guevara pointed one thing out,but i am that all amulets or pve related gear gets removed.Then only then we can hope on classes true balance and work on skill of classes what they using.Every class need fixed stats and maybe 3 stats setup or more depending on class.That somebody focused on balancing game have less headache and start working on skills and balance.Then getting problem from runes or gear that bug or cause some issues to put into calculation.Cause i never seen more nonsense then here in gw2 pvp ingame where a tank wins a fight.Not to mention healers…

Typical spreading of misinformation continues.Cause majority cannot see what Anet does from statistic and what they have setting in place.This here is just continued hate spam without end. Some 10-15 guys trying like politicians make one believe into something. Even not believing this crap this guy wrote that he gets 60+ or more ecto per run why there is a thing called DR ingame that prevents that. Even 2 days ago did 1 run salvaged again to see 30 rare to end up with only 4 ectos.
*ArenaNet has never shared the precise details of how diminishing returns is implemented in Guild Wars 2, with the exception of dungeon reward DR. From various posts by the company’s staff, players have pieced together the general concepts:
The more often a character loots from similar foes within an area, the more quickly DR triggers.
Once triggered, the impact of DR will increase until you won’t get any loot at all anymore.
The only way to “remove” DR is to go somewhere else for a length of time that is partly random and partly dependent on how much DR that character has. Usually, it lasts no more than 15-20 minutes if the character actively participates in other content.
Except for dungeons, DR is character based, which means:
Swapping characters results in a fresh start, with no DR.
Each individual character must leave the affected area for a time in order to reset the DR, i.e. swapping to a second character does not help reset DR on the first.*
Just a interesting thig that people do not stop and continue this hate train here.They tried breaking economy,calling it exploit,abuse and all sorts of things. Go try again to come up with something to add to the list…

Well what ever anet does at some point players will get bored of tarir. Then it will go back like it was before June. When 99% of maps on Tarir where failed people where insulting each other every second on map chat. And then players start charging other players for a success map with gold fee like they doing achievements,jumping puzzle and other thing what is crossing players minds. And i hope some will look up forum and write a nix thank you then for ruining game experience for them with forum complains and misinformation.
Cause the whole posts with complains comes with strange mind set pople. Got already wondering my self if people suffer from misanthropy or bitterness or depression. Wishing bad things to others and no success or simple hate. What your reason are you only know it your self,then hiding behind all sorts of arguments and saying it exploit game breaking and what ever its just nice sly move.

After watching TP prices today for several resource’s what are not obtained in Tarir. Their prices droped under 40 silver what used to cost more then ectos. Very clear that TP is being manipulated thx to the system design. As for the ecto’s today checking TP ingame price of it was lowered at some point to 35s what was fast gone after an hour.
Over a month of AB looting has proved in fact that AB multi map does not affect the economy nor does it break the game and neither is the ability to map hop a glitch. Seriously there is nothing negative about AB looting, IT IS LITERALLY THE SAME AS SILVERWASTE in terms of how it affects the economy. So all the people qq-ing about how AB is breaking the economy look again. Look at how the prices of items ingame has rised and dropped over the last month and you can see that AB is actually stabalizing the tp by generating needed mats such as ectos, the jeweled needed for HoT legendary AND it is providing tons of mithril, elder, and mats in general thus keeping the price nearly the same as it used to be a year ago. Look back on 4 months ago before AB was buffed, EVERYTHING was 2x more expensive than they are now. Legendary was at 4-5k average, and mithril/elder, t3 mat price was popping through the roof. You people might want to observe the economy before throwing random statements around like AB is breaking the economy.

Tarir has no impact good Sir Illconceived Was Na..All i can see you one of those emotional s who kinda have a problem with it.For your info in June before anybody started doing Tarir to farm ectos ( price on Ectos was drooped at some point low) where supply was LOW compared to demand ) and even before that.What had no relation to Tarir! Prices on TP are affected by players who Manipulate it and not the other way around.

Its Proved that TP market is currently stabilizing more then what doom preaching players here are claiming.

Let me be clear: I have no objection to people engaging in AB multi-looting — it’s extremely clever use of the game. It impacts the economy.
Again bunch of nonsense…What affects economy is some players using 3rd party programs, to access trading post listings outside game and see the full list of TP posted items on sale. Inside the game there is limitation when you open a list for a specific item to 35-36 listed only. Anything what gets after 36-37 listed the first item on list get behind its gone you cannot see it,and some players are abusing that feature. They post example 5-6 times 1 item or hide it with 2 or some other ammount or more on tp LOWERING item price down with their friends to get it convenient low price what its affordable for them. If they looking to buy and flip items on TP to double their gold.

Like i said before people have some issues that situation looks like a easy thing to do with less effort ( again persons perception ) while Tarir is in terms of gold farm is at the middle range.There far more better and higher gold rewarding farm methods and places to do then waiting on a 2 hour event.And that needs actual game play time to sit down and actual do it few hours.
The posts here served enough to see what people are thinking what their problem is and so much of their view perception. So sorry to see that they have this big of a grudge towards casuals. Cause they wasted a loot of time on their leg and they want now Tarir nerfed so Casuals should not get items their wanted.

This already happened in GW1 with UW Permasins, when Ecto dropped from 6k/ea to 3k/ea in days after a patch. All the “farmers” tried so hard to label it as “just a regular farm” (meanwhile stacking huge ammount of ectos).

Ok how can you compare to gw2 and in general at all be compared to a 2 hours event Tarir?From looking it you can’t.Since you just wanted to come over with some argument that failed.For your info every time a patch hit related to some farming metod in gw1 it was always that class skills got changed and not the farm location and the way of farming it.The easy methods of farming with certain skill setup was what always was tweaked in gw1 and never stopped people..Even today still solo UW and any location of that game when they are playing it.But hey in person like you still call it an exploit….Just logged in after years again in gw1 3-4 weeks ago guess what my assassin still can run with old build shadow refuge and and … Did solo again…The REAL issue is here in the posts with people not with the game.Players are having some background agenda and reason why.They always suggest some nerfs that HURT casual folks that cant spend more time to play.And we see those leave one after another the game like usual thx to forum suggestions. BUT rest of us who can afford all the time in world and do it when we want will not be affected from it..Players need to change and their ego personalities rather then some thing in game.

Not being able to hop to a map to loot cause some others intentional failed the map?Yes i did with friends i invited from friend list every person i knew to intentional cause failure on 3 maps why cause when i saw a guy who several people had issue with him.And to fail maps peace of cake just take all armors and do nothing map bound to fail end of it.Its a double edged sword and if you got problem with it then they need to rework whole game mechanic making new gw2.
The only Players that will suffer from this nerf are the Casuals who do not have time.For others who have more time to spare play the game hey we will just go back to old routine and the Casuals can go back buying gold and stuff from Gold seller websites.

Tell me the game was intended to be played like this and not with the QQ arguments I’ve been reading here. If the developers did intend for this to be played like it is being used, shame on you.
Just another example of min / maxing in any game but quite honestly I hope it gets nerfed.

Personally i find it laughable,what they complain here,the time amount that takes for Tarir event to happen is literally around 2 hours.Same amount time takes if you go farm run on maps gathering resource’s.And last run on maps i did,guess what i got more gold farming ore,wood,plants then stupid tarrir.Now sorry to break your heart to all emotional persons here its a fact Tarir needs slight boost to actual pay off as gold income but people fall to the bait on a forum troll bait: Hey i play 10 minutes get 20+ gold GG nerf it.The troll was successful lets give him credit for that the Tin Foil Hat!So we can make a closure here before more emotional weak persons get a stroke reading this here.
Do you realize at all what you saying?Anything that forces player to take long time,drives players to gold sellers and player to player trade with money transaction over pay pall. And yes they even found a way around the ingame system to trade stuff.What i see here is just players come complaining cause they emotional hurt,they maybe played fair took them 5-6 months or 1 or 2 year to get a leg item the long way.When we used to play GW1 and where swapping maps was on the side of radar just mouse click.Nobody complained about it now here god help us its an exploit shoot my monkey kitten what has become of the gamers today.

All i can see in this post is people who are connected to gold sellers and running Trading post bots are suffering from Multiloot. Why nobody wants to spend dollars to buy gold from them what they wasted using third party programs to obtain gold.From my opinion multi loot should get more rewarding so that the GOLD sellers die out.Thats period from my point of view want to make money off game go else where Anet should be expanding loot rewards.

The Issue with MM is this i pointed out while ago.GW2 has low player base the post i posted in got deleted from Moderators and people reported it for Reason wanting to start flame wars. When Gw2 went live it had over 100+ servers to pick from.What about now?You have 51 servers,what does that say?Even if you multiply that with 4000 players capacity on them it end up around 200k players online supporting. Their decition to go f2p is same like any other gaming company did:Starwars,Warhammer online,you pick name it.Always when player decline droped under 300k-200k users game goes f2p. So the MM works how it work but gives bad feeling for the EU players cause EU player base even the most popular games consists of 70k-25k players active durring weekend.While Asian or USA servers have 5 times the size of EU players.Europe was and always will be low populated in any games.Back to GW2 most bas expirience players have with MM now is cause LOW population in gw2 if they would change anything around it game will feel empty.

Look i played Gw1 arena and pve one thing that different in pvp from Gw2 is the dmg type and low health over there.No matter the skills names: Posion,Bleeding they where simple over there.The DMG type skills all there would add -5 or -10 health points in second you would lose up to 20 or more you would just health lost.That is the difference and Healer used to give you or any heals +5 to +15 or more points to regenerate to keep you from death. System was simple easy to work on now in GW2 we have poison and huge amount of periodic stuff.Balancing those is never going to work.Even if it does again Human factor cannot be put under calculation.Because combing classes skills and trait as team.Timing all to the full as team you will reach point of a fight when both sides will not be able to kill each other.

The tier system is meant to put u where u belong, if ur having close matches and win about 50% of the time thus staying where u are it seems like u reached ur appropriate place
That is not true this season.
Now you are always matched up with players with simliar MMR so except for a few outliers you will always have close to 50% winrate in theory. Does not matter which division you are on.
The only tier system that puts where you belong should be a tier system that directly correlates your position to your MMR. Current system is a test of luck and raw number of games played. e.g. wwwlllw > wlwlwlw
You are teamed up with players with similar MMR and then you fight a team in the same division range. Your opponents team MMR may be much higher or lower than your team’s MMR.
So if you’re a skilled player playing only few matches or starting the season late you will be teamed up with other skilled players and probably face opponents of lower MMR and skill. That’s why you will win most matches as long as your MMR is higher than the average MMR of players in your division range.
In theory, once you start having a 50% win rate you know that most players in your division range have a similar MMR to yours. But we’re not talking about a handful matches here, there can always be streaks of WWWW or LLLL or WLWL in between for many reasons. Players tend to overestimate what matchmaking can do and what a streak of some matches means.
You realize that actual you did point out how the system is not working right?Cause every player gets virtual point system cumulated playing.Lets say taking table top games like warhammer 40k where you get 2000 army points.So each team is composed on both sides of 2000 points,what is not representing their skill lvl its just virtual number to get filled for a group of teams and bamm there you go round start.That again shows that a program algorithm is not working and never will for actual pairing up match system.
Cause program can’t Calculate Human in calculations.

Wow man to many people going on each throats over a pixel game here.The thing some of them are right the system is weird!Ho it pairs teams up is beyond my comprehension .Personal experience i managed in 1 day to hit Ruby form 0 then i ranked up nice in it,not to mention was put against a loots of premades somehow we won it.What got me high placed.Then after having few pips in ruby i sudden got hit with weird teams do not understand the system and lost all progress.
Here Example Screen shoot from 1 of the last games i played i started leaving fast game without any more paying attention after loosing over 29 games in Ruby thx to having Amber-Sapphire and Emerald team pairs.
Don’t bother there is no punishment for those.
It was working before and i saw it more then 12 happen and no players did not relog they got replaced.
PLZ fix it again players that used to DC or Intentional DC would been replaced with a new one im tired of playing from start to end 4vs5.
No need for balance make a full premade with Dragonhunters and Chronomancers for easy win.
MM seems to work so far only thing what a program cannot account for is the Human.So far every game i got lost what could be win,was due to players fault for loss in my team.Their skill lvl was below average,no clue what he is doing,no CC no interrupt nothing.Not to mention the joke me playing as druid i put heals down and want cleanse people they keep running away from heal.So player awareness in middle of heat in the fight 0.Then you can even notice that some players get the tunnel view seeing only the health bar and slight view from health bar.And they wonder why they not progress league.And come here on forum to complain that MM did not give them the 1 press button win…

Funny…..He is probably one of those guys i have in soloq games when i join in as druid.When i try to heal or put heals down to run away in middle of fight cause he got sudden 3 guys jumping on him down.
Havent you all seen the posts. They say direct damage is worse becouse once you get hit you take all the damage at once. With condition damage you can dodge/block/evade it, you can cleance it and you can outheal it. We who complain about condition damage right now just have to L2P.
Actual the issue is people get mad is cause since day 1 the client has desyncs from time to time in some games..Had these 3 days in some matches those desync when i did in dodge rolls and evasive i got full dmg off mesmer and some other crap.Even some dmg delivered with delay later while i had invulnerability from physical attacks and Stability to get tossed around like rag doll.Cause information processing is not updating correctly.Not to mention Combat log dmg display 7.5k dmg while i got full over 20k dmg…..
Useless these guys that work at this game.
Wake up for god sake…MMR cannot and will never work with low player base. Guild wars 2 has dropped under 200k users how you expect a program should match people up? Show me one game where Match Making works with low population. People complained about long wait times for matches. They removed some restriction letting people pair up with anything. Now you complain about MMR what a joke if they turn it back on guess what you will wait for a game from 1 to 2 or 6 hours to have a match.

Here we go Theorycrafting has begun.
Match making cannot work with low player base.Guild wars is under 100.000 active players what certain amount is pvp active. That’s why you always see same names in arena.People suggested Solo and team arena what will never happen cause even more people will see broken MM and game will feel more empty,taking 10 hours for a match to find players.And many others issues what causing bad pvp experience and driving more people away.
I don’t know why, but people so far in Ruby seem to be generally worse at PvP than the people in sapphire were. Holy kitten some of the garbage I have seen. I am not a pro by any means but by this point I’d kind of expect people to have some kind of clue about rotating and not doing stupid kitten.
Solo players who got carried.Would be different if there was Solo ladder and team separated. BUT if they would do that cause low player base ladder would feel empty why simple.Majority is solo playing or casual i would be surprised of the server statistic how many actual players are still playing this game.What the reason is for this poor league right now and pvp expirience. Low player base and ending up with bad matchmaking.

OK not installing the game anymore..So this group is still abusing matchmaking and 2 of them made it to legendary and still are not kicked off league or any penalty for doing abuse….So much for fair play and sportsmanship….

Was even in past present too,some called it even desync with server.Still not fixed…
Wrong,still playing old condition necro performs well against Hots elite traits.Special against the people who thinks playing Dragon hunter or Reaper.Even played Guardian yesterday and today still performs with old build against Hots.Had a thief as enemy old build performed well too.So far i can tell only players need to get adjusted to the situation,the expansion is not all that pay to win.There is only slight nuisance skills like,chronomancer with 2 skills,revenant ( who you not know to counter) cause you don’t have Hots expansion.The biggest issue is players are not familiar with new skills and traits.Current arena setup is same,chronomancers,revenants,dragonhunters.Every persons is jumping on the stupid same builds cause the live stream.The issue is there is way but,again people lack creativity to find solution.Not to mention a lack of team play and stubbornness.
OK let me clear some misunderstanding here. Dota has over 10 years of presence in internet.They wasted years and years on developing the heroes,leagues and tournaments along the way was made from players.Not the opposite they never stopped evolving around classes and abilities.What Anet does is the opposite they stopped evolving and working around classes and pushing Esports.Match making ingame should not be done INGAME by 1 button press,it will never work.Best way i experienced matchmaking was in old Starcraft – Warcraft and after it Dota players made websites.Where players registered where put in bronze league,matches where organized like this.Each group formed team or solo,was divided solo league and team.No matter rank team or solo could challenge anybody to a game.Hell i even played back then against so called Pro gamers and had my wins and losses.Each party made a date-time out when to play.Each team won or loss got some points and advanced trough ladder.Nobody could lie or fake tournaments like they are done today,or setup abuse ladder systems online like its done.That was a community project and fair for anybody.And it was not done by a gaming company!Gaming company should focus on Making their game work!Seems people kinda messed their priority here,watching that feels like i am in a twilight zone.

Writing personal experience and pointing few problems out.Classes are in middle ground needs work to get fixed,that is not done by Anet and we still waiting on it.General problem now in abilities in classes and affect big time arena fights and half a year been not fixed. Addressing the problem i mention,the issue is with immobilize.The status switches in game random from a ability to condition dmg and cannot be removed,either by stun breaker or condition clearing,sometime even both,leaving you rooted (bugged in place )even after expire in middle of map.There are others issues regarding dmg output and heals output.Does or did Anet address issue NO.So we got some joke update nothing fixed again,what we get some ranked arena and their so called league of jokes.Quoting Anet statement:There will be no healer class or healers in GW2. Current Arena Healers everywhere!Where is that arena where players could show skill and fights,without when downed to revive lift up player.What they even promised that they removed from arena ( downed state ) again nothing.To much empty promises and statements.Not to mention every patch i read what they do opens question is there any person still working at Arena Net with common sense?Does he ever had at least 1 hour of game play arena with some class to at least know what to do and fix.So here my question if any moderator reads this to forward to some people working.Why where so many promises made and statements official even in live streams in past,and they have not kept to a single word they said?
New Trait system.Very bad reminds me of the update in World of Warcraft Cataclysm,what killed the hybrid builds and diversity in builds.You now have to choose of bad and very bad traits.And the promise of build diversity they where talking is gone,was hoping to see a list of free choice to make hybrid builds.And what i get?A sily straight line forward of traits and stuff what i don’t even want to use.Whats btw 50% of traits….
