JQ strong communities and small active guilds. Got a boost in population after beating the old TA dominated HoD.

SBI was T1 server, but got a boost post TA collapse. They got TA’s night crew guildso they are tougher to cap at night now.

IoJ just came out of no where and putting up a fight. They are truly a T1 worthy server if they can keep up this introduction into the big rank. Kind of lucky JQ and SBI tend to go at each other more.

I transferred to JQ when it was more or less no 3/4. JQ is a nice server, but others should spread out because you’ll just take longer to wvw. If people mass transfer to T2 servers, things would be much better for everyone.

A fair solution to the jump puzzle problem.

The most ideal thing is to somehow remove the jump puzzle from wvw entirely. Since this this is part of the map, it might not be possible yet I think I have come up with a better idea.

The problem is many people who do these puzzles take up valuable pvp space while contributing little or nothing to the pvp scoring. This is a huge flaw that needs to end.

My solution is to include the jump puzzle in the scoring by adding land claim markers in it. These markers work much like the ones in the main battleground that spawn a veteran Charr guard. These won’t have guards and will only be worth a very small amount of points. They will offer some exp, karma and coin too.

The idea is to give a pvp purpose to the jump puzzle if it can not be removed. If people choose to do the puzzle or fight in that area, this is how they can contribute to the server. Winning spots in this area should have minimal impact on the fight overall, but at least there will be a real pvp purpose to it.

Stop with the JQQ stuff.

The only time I was in EB and say HoD and SBI fighting it out, HoD nearly had SBI off the map. We took back our side of the map from SBI. Why SBI would rather send its forces deep in our territory rather then attack HoD? Because they can’t take HoD one on one.

SBI would rather hold on to second place then ever make a bid for first. Then talk about third place servers like JQ or ET being bad. HoD is monster to beat, but they will never be beaten until SBI attacks them head on because I promise you JQ, ET or whoever will end up third will go for HoD.

I tend to play Eternal, so that may not be as directed at borderlands people. The SBI on Eternal take an HoD supply camp and maybe a keep, then just stops attacking them.

Will SBI ignore HoD’s open territory while they are fighting us? Attack JQ for land grabs rather then attack HoD even though HoD will most likely be holding Stonemist. Then wonder why JQ thinks they are HoD’s sidekicks on these forums?

I look forward to a good three way fight, but not to getting ganged up on so SBI can forever hold on to second place. If you want to be first place attack HoD instead of worrying about how they will react.

HoD are not gods and they can be defeated, just not if you focus on attacking us or whoever is in the third spot because you fear taking on HoD head on. JQ will be attacking both sides im sure, but obviously we will be wiped of the map if we have to fight 2v1 the whole time.

So when it came to finally finishing my personal story I ran into an issue I never had to face before. Some missions did prove hard and some caused deaths, but in the end I could at least do them. At least with my human engineer, though I have yet to do so with my other newer characters.

Finally I get to Arah and find that players have to attack or hold that area constantly. This is an odd hump to get over for Story Mode, but even if you do, you got another problem. It says I now need a party? Oh well I thought. I could try how bad could this be. Oh it was bad. Real bad.

So now I’m waiting for a party of strangers to help me. Good thing there was one forming for Story Mode. We got in and thankfully there was someone who knew what to do each step of the way to lead. Even with everything coming up golden for me, it was horribly difficult. I could never stop fighting and the Heroes of Tyria helped less and less. The party did an excellent job and yet I could not avoid death.

Whats is wrong with getting a large party together to fight the final battle? This is a multi-player game right? Well, it doesn’t always work like that ideally.

This punishes people who like to play solo even in an MMO. People not in a guild or consistent party of friends who need to form parties on the spot. People who who are just unlucky that no friends, guildmates or other story mode players are around to help them. Just made it impossible for them to finish their story after letting them make it 99% of the way alone or with a small party.

If the goal is to bring people together and working together, WvW and Events do a very nice job of that. I have worked with strangers many times to accomplish shared goals. This game rewards that, but doing so for the story is punishing. I would prefer to do that alone, at my own pace and enjoy it. The difficulty of the final mission makes this impossible.

How can this be fixed?:

Scale levels of enemies to party size. Scale enemy numbers to party size. Use less difficult enemy classes based on party size. Buff Heroes levels and AI to party size. Make it easier to access that area even if no one has cleared it for a Pact base camp like making an easier story access waypoint.

Doing those things can fix the problem and let everyone finish the story not matter how they play or how many they play with. I truly hope that this is done. I like this game, but this is a major flaw I hope to see reworked.

I was in both ET and Ruin. I joined Ruin during the beta and was interested in seeing how a guild would work in GW2. The Ruin zerg is fun to roll with honestly, but ET is a weak server with no PvE. Imagine doing events by yourself. Everyone is in WvW or on wait for it.

Ruin was quite like an army and not all ruin are bad people. I just needed more freedom and to try out other servers. JQ feels more welcoming to be an independent player on. As much as I like getting into WvW on ET, maybe we where better off on NSP.

I do think Ruin needs to have more openness with PUGS and the alliance needs to feel more like an alliance.

HoD's sportsmanship toward us at SBI

Oh now stop. JQ has to hold two fronts on EB while I saw almost no crosses between the HoD and SBI side. Both your forces are always north in JQ territory. Everyone on JQ thinks you work together because we always have to fight you two and rarely see you both go at it.

When I left tonight, HoD was way up north attack JQ keep and we just took back Ogrewatch from SBI. Why are your forces way up north and attacking nothing down south? Either one of you. JQ has to work twice as hard to get and keep territory because neither HoD or SBI fight each other often enough. Anyone on JQ has seen this for themselves. This is why everyone in JQ is certain you have a pact of some sort.

Now seeing things from the JQ side, its very fishy to say the least. If SBI isn’t allied with HoD, then HoD should be crushed off the maps. Every time we fight one, the other comes. You would think they would attack while the other distracted. Instead, both are attacking JQ all the time.

I noticed that when pugs or whoever from SBI would attack HoD territory, they would take it. Yet the main force of either server is always on JQ. Either it’s and alliance or SBI is afraid of HoD.

RUIN Keeping it Classy

Wow a RUIN topic. I just recently left RUIN to find out whats it was like on other servers. ET has a decent WvW, but its PvE is lacking. I remember when we went to ET and it was fun running around a new server unopposed. The truth is the alliance left NSP due to having a hard time getting in. Personally, I think RUIN is the strongest guild on ET. They have three branches. Beyond RUIN, I don’t see ET having the rank its having without them. I was frustrated seeing the map outside of Eternal fall to HoD and others. Yet they rant if they see a RUIN tag outside of one or two battlegrounds.

As far as RUIN as a whole, I just want to say that there are some good people in it. I don’t see it as an all bad evil cult. As far as the leadership goes, its very military. The strong point is that the zerg, siege and tactics work well under Archaos and the officers. On the other hand, the lack of personal freedom was just not my taste. I’m kind of the do my own thing, say what I want type. They also need to work with people on the server better. RUIN doesn’t like to work with pugs. Not all players are into clans, but still can help in the fight. We had the offense, but often lacked the defense. Having to run back is an issue.

I ended up on JQ and I like it overall. I don’t know if this is final or not, but JQ is a good overall server.
