I feel like you guys are being too strict. Adding a race does not mean that there has to be a capital, also it is not hard to add a instance entrance into some underground burrow for Skritt. Also when is a race on par with a playable race intelligence wise? Skritt seem pretty capable of having a unique personal story. You do not need a huge mind-blowing lore with roots back into GW1 to make a playable race that fits lore. Whats wrong with playing an ambitious skritt whose ambition is to slay a dragon and be remembered in skritt history books. Twine their story with asurans fighting inquest, then sylvari fighting nightmare, add some order choice bit and edit a little bit of the end-game cinematics/story. Since i do not remember Skritt even being in GW1 it means their storyline is quite flexible. Also this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skritt . I think Skritt might be the most easily implementable race.

Dredge. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dredge
Also many possibilities adding them in. They value freedom more and they are under a Soviet Union like rule. Surely there can be some personal story based off of that. Minister Shukov is the one who enslaved his own race with Inquest help. Surely there can be some plot twist where they gain freedom and make peace with surface races.

Keep your hands off my MF gear

Only difference between MF gear and normal gear with similar stats is the % crit dmg stat that I contribute less to the team so I’m essentially leeching to get slightly better drops because I’m a selfish person who doesn’t respect his teammates, which I dont care about.

fixed that for ya (=

You sure do get your panties in a twist about someone getting more imaginary items than you might get. If the game is that real to you, seek professional help.

People are “getting panties in a twist” because magic find is not something that can be checked and it impacts everyone else in the team! We are not jealous of extra items other people have, we are peeved that they secretly leech making us pull the extra weight of a scrub. If someone in your party has magic find and you do dungeons, it means you are spending more time out of your precious day grinding extra cause of some lowly cheapskate aka spending more time on a game. Least they could do is add some notification for other party members that someone is running x% magic find. You are the one who should seek professional help due to completely overshooting the topic in attempt to gain much needed attention. Least you could do is be competent about the issue at hand before spitting garbage.

My few cents and reasons:
Hylek – sadly no, they are frogs, cant make running animation be a jumping animation.
Kodan – yes, cause, Norns and Charr.
Dwarfs – yes, surely not EVERYONE turned into stone, there must of been a few exiles or am i missing something lorewise? I remember them being pretty sentinent in EoTN.
Centaurs – no, i do not want a jumping horse with weird animations especially during underwater swim.
Naga – just no.
Skritt – yes, as the skritt king himself has said they are able to be quite organized in number and have goals beyond shinies.
Undead – possible, defected risen who have too much willpower?
Warden – they sure seemed motivated to kill humans in Cantha.

TL;DR : in descending order of probability: Tengu,Warden, Kodan, Skritt. Dwarves and undead after perhaps some major plot twist and expansion.
in descending order of favor: Dwarves, Skritt, Kodan, Warden, Undead, Tengu.

Also i can see Skritt is not getting enough love. Surely it is possible to make a rather interesting piece of lore for them. So let me tell you why you should consider them:
- They make improvised golems
- United they are strong
- They like shinies, dragons like shinies
- Inquest lab testing
- Nightmare Court capturing them
- The stuff about chaos energy and them rubbing some green chaos stuff on themselves
- That one skill challenge where the Skritt thinks you are a dragon and fights you
- King being under threat of assasination
- Hell there is every reason for them to make an appearance as a comic relief at least. If WoW pulls of pandas surely skritt can be pulled of as an April Fools.

Also why has no one mentioned Dredge?

Factions

I am against the factions idea but i am all for the idea of having more tension between races and maybe between the three different orders? There are guild missions, maybe implement those tensions into guild missions somehow?

Also my reasoning for excluding GW Factions system: There is already WvW. Do not see much point in creating a bazillion different groupings instead of utilizing existing ones for reflecting the tensions.

Improving the Bank/Collection System

I agree with almost everything except materials. Reasoning: there needs to be constant trade going on with materials. If it was made infinite, pretty much everyone will just hold onto their materials or people would majorly influence the value of materials. Runescape anyone? I would predict that material prices would insanely fluctuate and an average player would come out as a loser in the battle between merchant guilds. Id imagine going onto trading post to see that a single piece of rawhide costs 3s. Basically what i am trying to say is that anything with infinite supply(storage) wont have a stable price.

Autoloot that actually auto loots

Do not bring up the bot excuse, honestly… Do you think for a botter it is hard to find some "Smash “F” for infinity and detect loot with randomized human-like patterns" script? You people try to use it to justify all the unfilled holes in game mechanics with bot witch hunt. If there were more of you showing your necks during development stages we would all be suffering from sore fingers because of having to press “craft” over and over. If they are smart enough to fool the game for any period of time to think they are legitimate, what makes you think pressing a simple “F” key will change that? You can probably google and find some auto-loot macro for bots in under 5 minutes. And if you really have that big of a problem with excess loot turn it off! There is a reason it is called options.

As for the possible future. Why not have those options? I mean your bags are already pretty huge at end game and you can just deposit any materials straight into bank and sell any valuables on trading post without going to a generic “Auction NPC”. I personally would not need those features, cause for optimal profit i cycle and sell even the whites (fyi that is most likely what bots do in under a minute or while waiting on mobs to respawn). I get it you are stuck in the old RPG days but it is time to move on. People play the game for action and adding those features would not affect your beloved inventory management. For whites, greens, blues you still have to check prices for optimal profit. Also i do not see the time sink put into selecting your loot instead of filtering it automatically affecting the economy in any way, if for example you are only looking for pricey stuff you still have to filter through it manually for maximum profit. I might agree with perhaps anti loot filtering but i do not see it being able to do any harm, the economy wont suffer from it, just someone looking for oranges will only pick up those without having to manually check each loot bag and possibly skipping one with said loot. I doubt a person who has been farming a dungeon over and over will find this enjoyable whilst a bot will tackle it as a breeze. This feels more like a case of “But im enjoying filtering my loot and having a small windows pop-up! What do you mean you are entirely skipping mindless work?”.

As far as botting is concerned. I will severely doubt your level of competence on the topic if you think making a system of items scaling from gray to purple or pressing “F” key will in any way impair bots. They do it with cold, fast, mathematical logic also able to nowadays mimic human randomness. None of these features were added as a bot control in the first place so drop it. They were added to enhance your experience and immersion. For me personally it is more immersion breaking if i have a “Press F key to loot” smudge pop up every time i am near a loot bag. Believe it or not i also do not consider having to press the same sell junk button over and over whilst thinking “Why did they add this button instead of adding an option of making it automatic?”. If it is already semi-automatic, it should be automatic on choice.

Also on topic, most MMOs have already implemented it in some fashion. Recently played Allods Online (do not ever consider playing this game, it is just horrible on how they try to monetize everything) where you could buy a Magpie that automatically loots(it ofc cost real money keeping up with the games business model), needless to say there are countless MMOs that do this in-built. It is not like we are asking for “Auto-move to nearest event and auto-attack for gold medal”.

Fight the Bots!

Completely agree. When someone bots it is beyond obvious and no nerf can stop them, literally none, hell in terms of profit they actually get buffed because a computer is more flawless than a human, so really it just seems like salt on the wounds. Adding a strict bot reporting feature like in GW1 is what is missing, although i do not remember ever seeing it have real impact, i would still see the same people leech over and over, what was missing was a live team addressing the issue. I am pretty confident that there are “free of charge” live surveillance moderator material type people available in this community , so money should be no option.

I am no economics expert and maybe someone who is could clarify this for me but as i see it, if 5$ option was added, you would tap into the large pool of gamers that actually bought the game because of the one time fee. I know that Steam as well has a minimum 10$ for some reason. Are they basing this trend off some chart? Surely losing a few cents on overall transactions makes up in all the people who are solemnly willing to spend only 5$.

Issue with 3rd party tools.

TL;DR : 3rd party program bad but idea good. Add good ideas out of the box. Add support to modders so there would not be need for surveillance on 3rd party programs that are benign.

So i read an article about this 3rd party program called Combat Mode, which was just a simple script by the looks of it that locks your cursor to center screen and mouse movement rotates camera without the need of holding right-click. I was amazed on how ANet handled it. Just bam and topic closed, side was taken but issue was not handled. Giving OK or even making a department that manages OK 3rd party programs is of course not the solution and the policy on 3rd party programs is good enough in my opinion, however, the program aids people with certain ailments and disabilities, it fills the “gray area”. Why not concentrate on adding those features in, straight out of the box? I mean honestly, how hard is it to add a “Right-click toggles camera movement” option or adding the ability to disable auto-targeting. It is hardly ground-breaking either, unless you consider developing carpal tunnel syndrome at different rate an uneven playing ground. Most 3rd party programs out there that gain communities favor show features lacking on the GAME side. GW community is by far one of the most reasonable communities i have ever seen, so why not hear them out? Add support to all those people looking to eye-candify their UI (i personally grew tired of the smudge-everything look in just few days, also please add “Explorer map” option that would just make the undiscovered bits of the map one color, surely GW1 was a lesson enough) or adding minor tweaks as auto-loot(i was amazed on how you can make it so that you loot everything in AoE but you still have to press “F” for it). Also i am pretty sure that if all the man-hour put into dealing with these “gray area” 3rd party programs would be put into adding some sort of a modders backend with proper API documentation, ANet would save some funds. Last note on the UI, it is pwetty and everything but some people want a change of scenery once in a while. If you must then monetize the UI like Dota 2 did.

Thank you for your time.

Looking Ahead: GW2 in 2013 (NO DX11??)

Saying yes to DX11 support, saying no to the hype. Increase in performance varies so do not get your hopes up on playing WvW on anything except low. Mainly what comes with DX upgrades are eye-candy related. Also WoW was mentioned. Honestly stop comparing to that. Currently the bottle-neck is literally hardware, nothing else. If WoW had the same graphics and mechanics and assuming they implemented DX11, WvW would still lag for you! Stop putting DX11 and WoW on a pedestal.
