30/20/0/10/10 is the rifle/grenade power build i’m running. Pretty standard imo.

As for the last 10, I don’t think anyone can give up a perma-swiftness boon

Why isn't it free to respec traits?

There should put a re-speccing NPC at the entrance of every dungeon and the OP’s problem’s would have been solved immediately… i think

GW2 is Fun-Centric, not Reward-Centric

I can’t understand how anyone who has any slightest intention of getting dungeon armor sets NOT considering token gathering as a grind. Its grind in the truest sense of the word. So much about Anet’s philosophy.

My thoughts on Questing (not that I matter)

I’m with the OP and I feel what he says.

@AlexanderFaust: From the above responses, you are perhaps the only one who understood more than the rest what the OP is trying to say but, perhaps you should take the time to read OP’s wall of text now instead of being on constant defensive mode; as from what I can see, you are misunderstanding to a small extent what the OP is trying to convey. The rest just completely misunderstood.

For one, probably most people were tagged with a too typical MMO mindset that questing = grinding. Thats what the OP tried to differentiate when he mentioned ‘immersion’. For what Anet branded their game to be, questing is supposed to make you feel part of the game. But atm, it is not. Its just a source of experience grind with very little ‘immersion’ to why you are doing that heart quest. You’d just press ‘M’, look for empty heart shapes, run there and complete it for exp and move on. That’s just exp grinding rebranded, not exactly ‘redefined’ or revolutionary. And when you outleveled the zone, like what the OP said, you’d be required to move to different same level zone to grind those empty hearts out so that you can move to a higher level zone. This my friend, if not a grind, what is?

For those who prefers exploration first and questing second, perhaps you’d face lesser problem of outleveling your zone, which I’d say is a success of Anet’s side.

But for those (including me), who prefers questing first and exploration second, too often we’d outlevel our zone (at least for the starter zones) and being forced to explore the whole of the map or move to another starter zone. While you may think that this is Anet’s intention for players to ‘immerse’ themselves in this beautifully crafted world, take a seat and try running the game a second time. By the second time, no I wouldn’t want to be forced to explore vistas and POI that I have already did with my main character; though I still enjoy completing objectives required in a quest.

OP’s proposed solution seemed quite thought out and agree completely.

Please make kits 'weapons', not bundles.

I’d agree that the Engineer’s weapon kits should use the stats of our equipped weapon, or any other way that makes its stats customizable. I for one focuses mostly on my grenade for DPS and is indeed disappointed that my attack drops every time I switched to it. (On another hand, it may be useful for lower levels since you can be using level 1 weapon but yet the weapon kit stats scale to your level).

Also, a good fix would be for auto attack on weapon kits upon equip, including the grenade kit despite being aoe. Despite enabling fast cast ground targeting, it is still a pain to keep spamming my 1 button every single encounter.

But I’d have to disagree that weapon kits be made into individual weapons just because they took up a slot in our utility. Our class mechanic toolbelt skill more than makes up for the lack of utility slots, unless of course you are running with 3 turrets build which pretty much inefficiently clogs up your toolbelt everytime you deploy turrets.

Equipped with elixirs, I am enabled 2 elixirs conferring either the same function or different useful functions. With elixir C, i’d usually clear conditions into boons with my toolbelt, and the one on the utility slot doubles a an emergency use – 2 skills, 2 separate cooldowns for the slot of 1! With elixir R, the toolbelt revive brings so much to teamplay whilst the utility part of it brings good survivability on yourself.

When playing on another class(thief and guardian), I just find their utility skills lacking especially with the usual high cooldown that comes with most of them. Also, the cooldown for swapping between kits and weapon is negligible, bringing the option of constant swapping so much more versatile, compared to another class that although enabled weapon swappings, the cooldown that comes with it usually means you can only swap once or twice in a normal encounter.

my PVE build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fcEQFAUlIqiYHwSdFgNJyoCdGIF5lfJqQl95Bb1WQIA
rifle/grenade kit build.
Rare explorer armor sets for the Magic Find % and decent power/prec stats.
Endgame armor and weapon sets would be swapped to Berserker exotics.

In dungeon runs, rifle is swapped with pistol/shield for the great support and control skills/combo. Elixir B is swapped with Elixir R for the revive toolbelt skill.
Explorer armor set too.

My personal opinion: Heartseeker is broken

I havent PVP alot but so far I’ve only met a HS thief once in pvp. Of course I was taken by surprise when my drops from full to 25% in matter of seconds, but thats when my elixir S automatically kicks in putting me invulnerable for a brief moment, all while the thief is still spamming HS.
Immediately I dropped my elite supply crate and heal skill to get myself back to 60%+. By then the thief ran out of initiatives and my basic rotation picked him off helplessly.

I’m a p/p condition damage engineer btw.

EDIT: I’m saying HS is extremely strong burst for single target, but when faced in extended, team or 2nd target fight, it’s limited.
