I find it hilarious that the players from Maguuma on this forum can’t accept the fact that one person believes Yaks Bend is a stronger server than them. Holy kitten get over it, I have tried so hard in the past to not judge Mags based on their forum warriors, but you have the attitude of a child I can’t help but think most players from Mag are 12 years of age or younger. If someone says a server is better than you at open field combat, you get so defensive and give every excuse in the book to explain why “you’re so leet”. Every server has good and bad players, every server has good and not so good guilds.

Who cares who is “the best open field” server. You can’t prove your claims…. pics, videos or just chest thumping proves nothing. I look forward to fighting Mag again, whether they stomp us or we (Yaks Bend) stomp you I don’t care, because we both know that we will wipe each other and get wiped by each other. I admit that Mags has many good players and roamers, but I think you guys need to accept that not everybody thinks you’re the best. You may think that, and that’s fine… it’s good you have pride in your server, but please stop with the “oh we are so much better than Yaks Bend”, because you sound like little kids who just have to believe they are the best.

You may have destroyed Yaks Bend last time we met due to your large amount of transfers, but two things to remember:

1. In the history of Mags vs Yaks, Yaks have beaten Maguuma more times than you have beat Yaks.

2. Servers are always changing their tactics and new players are always added to the scene of WvW frequently. So, servers can change a lot in a month. I’m not gonna claim that Yaks will win, because I don’t know. BUT, I will be surprised if Mags can take 2nd place in tier 3 with a large margin of points ahead of YB.

I’m curious as to where you got this info? I’m from YB and so far as I know there hasn’t been “a whole bunch” of dragonbrand transferred to YB. If there has been any it’s definitely not many, no significant guilds consisting of 5 or more players have come over. All of DB’s major guilds are still on DB.

The reason why you feel like they have transferred over is because Yaks Bend is finally recovering from a lot of drama that occured within the server. Many guilds were not happy with each other and refused to work with each other, or to even go on wvw all together. But things are finally sorted out and the YB alliance has been reformed and as a result we are more effective in wvw now. Hence why YB has performed a lot better over the last week.

p.s Can’t wait for Mag to come up to t3 already!!! DB/YB/Mag matchup will be fun for sure!!! Oh and Mag… last time we fought u versed a demoralised YB server that didn’t really care about wvw. Don’t think it’ll be the same when you see us in t3. Look forward to seeing you on the battlefield

I’m sorry I have to say this but I have lost a lot of respect for [BT]. We (YB) had been seiging bay on DBBL, and finally took it. A fairly large FA zerg mostly comprising [BT] and [pd]..I think that was the tag… attempted to wipe us from behind while we were fighting DB and try ninja. They failed and we wiped them. But wvw had to reset and when I finally logged back into DBBL I noticed that [BT] had ninja’d bay off us because it was now a paper keep instead of fortified when we took it. Fair enough its WvW I understand this is a legit tactic (i’m not complaining about that)… what I’m complaining about is that even though FA is so far ahead on the scoreboard, and even though they had a large enough force to take hills on DBBL while we took bay, they chose to come and ninja a wooden keep off us after we put effort in to take the fortified keep.

Like I said it was fair play, I dont deny that. But it was quite sad to see that [BT] purely focused on taking bay off us rather than seiging hills on their side of the map when YB has had a lack of moral this week due to overwhelming opposing forces. Say whatever you want to me, but that respect I had for [BT] from their valiant efforts on reset night has gone and I hope the same thing you just did to us happens everyday to you next week in t2.

Really looking forward to solid week of Roaming/Duels CD/Ebay seem really solid and friendly, was fun at duels today really looking forward to testing some new builds and idea’s out. Also was fun doing 5v5 very rare you get good duelling in team fights.

Think today OG was out in almost a zerg of just OG, was allot fun. For those that think roamers are useless, just remember one thing who do you think stands between you and your pvd goals the roamers, we are the ones holding back large groups from helping there teams mate stop you from capping. Today OG effectively did it for several HR’s.

We like to do it more often, so if any Commanders feel like they could do with some Roamers helping them just whisper one of the OG members we more then will to throw ourself’s at large zergs.

Good luck Ebay and CD, may this week be fun for you. It’s gonna be boring in t3, as we will be getting face stomped this whole week, but ah well… maguuma had to put up with it for a few weeks so I think they deserve this week of change, however I hope they swiftly replace us (YB) in t3.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing about outcomes of [GF] vs [OG], personally I think [GF] would win because they have extremely good tactics at group fights and work well as a unit. I remember seeing {OG] when we last fought maguuma, but I only ever remember seeing them kill a group of uplevels, never saw them take on a solid group of level 80s… so I can’t say I know how they do (p.s not putting [OG] down so pls don’t sulk). I would love to see a video of an even fight between ebay roamers and mag roamers. I’m looking to find this {AON] guild in t3 from DB, I heard they are the best roaming guild in t3.

Anyway post a vid pls, and claims from [OG] or [GF] need to be proved with a vid. Cheers

Good fights today/yesterday, lots of fun in YBBL trying to push out Ebay and CD throughout the day. Two guilds from Ebay in particular who stood out to me today [GH] and [GF], very talented! And once again, I’m very impressed with CD south east asian crew, you guys are excellent!

p.s trolls and forum warrios, please be quiet… no one likes a cry baby or chest thumper. Go to the zoo if u feel the need to thump your chest.

I’m glad GW2 implements a relatively high standard on their forums. Kitten talking and QQ’ing do no good to anyone. Competition is great, but not when people feel the need to put down others to make themselves feel bigger and better.

As a rule of thumb, forum warriors generally claim one or all of the following;

• They are the best and everyone else are noobs
• They only lost cause they were outnumbered 10v1 (when in reality it was probably 2v1)
• 3 of them beat 20 people (generally, if not always, this is an exaggerated number)

All three of these general claims of forum warriors require putting down an opposing player. I don’t want to be harsh, but it is childish behaviour. “Hardcore” gamers should chill out if this game makes them angry or gives them a need to flame, all things should be done in moderation, including GW2. I’m not trying to target forum warriors here, but it is generally these gamers that are rude and unpleasant to others, and if their posts get removed then I would bet money on Anet that it was for a legit reason they removed it.

To the OP, I understand most players have a sense of pride for their servers, and there is nothing wrong with health competition, so long as players are respectful and don’t go overboard (yet again, forum warriors more often than less go overboard). This is just my opinion.

Good fights in Ebay BL today, some large scale battles back and forth betweem Ebay and YB, was very fun.

I think pk is a great guild, from what I’ve seen they definitely contribute a lot to wvw for Ebay. They have some really good strategies and some fine skilled players. Ebay is a fun opponent!!

I’ve got to give it to CD, even though during N/A prime time we (YB) take a lot of points, they still never give up, they keep fighting until they get a foothold and then take that opportunity to regain their land. I’m at awe at their patience and persistance. All I can say is well done!!! I have yet to see a server with as much spirit as CD. You guys are awesome to face, thanks for the fun =] p.s you have a great oceanic crew, not the biggest I’ve seen in the last few weeks (i.e kaineng or DB) but you definitely have the strongest night crew i’ve seen number for number.

SBI, I hope you get to fight in a tier that you can be competitive against soon!! YB knows the feeling of fighting overwhelming odds, and how demoralising it can be. For the last month or 2 we have been stomped nearly every week by servers that obtained a lot of transfers. Although you don’t have the numbers to compete with YB and CD, the guilds on your server are the most formidable I have seen from any server. The only other guild I can remember that was a formidable as your guilds was [PiNK] from TC. If you guys had equal numbers as us I am confident you would stomp both us and CD.

Yaks Bend, I’m proud of our awesome reset fights and achievements these last 2 weeks. Lets keep the great work up! win or lose let’s just have fun and respect the servers we fight. Both SBI and CD deserve much respect as they have shown much to us too.

I’ve never faced BG but I’m sure they would be fun to fight as well!!

I miss fighting TC and FA though, both very formidable servers with a crazy amount of skill. If Yaks Bend was ever to have a virtual natural distaster that destroyed the server I would take refuge in either TC or FA. Probably TC though purely because they have sexy guild names. But I would share the love with FA too.

Can I have a show of hands of who has played a crazy amount of hours this week to help fight in wvwvw??

I thought DB said their asian crew would beat Kainengs asian crew? I’m not from Kaineng, but I remember reading some posts from DB saying they would crush Kaineng, which I assumed they were claiming because they had done it before? Not trolling, just wandering why DB asian crew is getting rolled by Kainengs, is it population wise or does Kaineng have better tactics?

This is how wvwvw forums should be all the time. Short and sweet. Short because we are all having fun in game, and sweet because there’s no need for servers to troll or flame or blame others.

I’m having a lot of fun this week. CD are very formidable, especially during ocean prime time! Many talented players on CD.

SBI has a lot of talent too, and some of their tactics are very smart! I’m learning a lot from SBI.

Overall this week so far has been awesome, whether Yaks Bend wins or loses, I don’t care, this has been the best week of wvwvw in over a month! Keep the fun going.

p.s me and some friends did a golem rush on SBI with only four of us total, we were soooooo close!!! But great defence by SBI to come wipe us in the Lords room, we though we were gonna take the Hills with just us 4. But SBI defence was too strong for us. Next time we may get it though

To the Kaineng thiefs and others from KOR, I was the YB mesmer fighting you guys in your BL near the the island between the two southern towers. That was a lot of fun! And to the CD thief I roamed with, much love, that was fun too!!

Congratulations to Kaineng on your victory, I’m sorry we didn’t have the coverage to give you guys a better challenge. Good luck to you with your next match up, I think you will do very well, I hope you do!! In general your server has been very fun and respectful. I hope u have a fun week next week! To CD, you guys are awesome!! CD and TC are the two servers that remind me the most of YB. We all play similar styles. CD is definitely one of my favourite servers to fight. It wasn’t much this week due to overwhelming numbers from Kaineng, but in the past u guys have been relentless fighters!! I hope this next match up can be competitive.

Maguuma has received a ton of transfers and now have the population of a t2 or even t1 server. They were relentless at reset night in t4 last night. And now have hour long queues. So which ever servers out of CD/FA/DB stay in t3 next week, they will be facing Maguuma.

Whichever server loses and drops to t4 will be facing Kaineng next week. Kaineng has risen up in ranks and Ehmry Bay are saying that Kaineng makes Dragonbrand seem like childs play.

SO, prepare to fight even harder next week if you want to stay in t3!!

btw I did not recognize a single guild from Maguuma tonight, although I did see one guardian with a [GOON] tag, but other than that I have never seen any of the guilds you now have lol. Which server/s did they come from? They are formidable

p.s DB if you want to keep climbing up the tiers you better give this week your all, Kaineng is catching up fast and from what I have heard from my friends in Ehmry Bay is that Kaineng are 10x more deadly than DB and their coordination and skill is extreme. So if you better watch out for them!!! I think they may exterminate your server. Anyways I have to worry about them first since most likely Yaks Bend will be fighting them next week.

IOJ… seems to me you have lost the will to keep fighting in wvwvw. Sorry to hear that most your guilds left you. Free transfers really screwed things up for many servers and I feel your server especially. Hope things get brighter and new and stronger guilds join you guys in the near future.

BTW i’m not a “Bunzy troll” and not boasting, I die lots in WvW and I don’t rate myself as a pro player…I’m an average player with some skill but not a lot.

To the dragonbrand guys from [NNK] and [UhOh] who I fought against at the far south supply camp in DB BL, I was the Yaks Bend mesmer with the [DD] guild tag roaming with an ele with [Duel], that was some funny fighting and intense too!! We killed you so many times and you kept running back one at a time until eventually a small zerg of you showed up to take us out.
I’m guessing you weren’t happy about dieing to us, cause I came back to the camp three times to /dance and /laugh with you guys and you killed me every time whilst I was dancing… you made me cry. Anyways thanks for the fun + bags of loot + repair bills. Would love someone from either [NNK] or [UhOh] to PM me so we can organise a battle for your guilds to fight [DD] in a 5v5 or 10v10 or even 1v1’s

A big welcome to [HIRE], I’m from Yaks Bend and welcome you guys to the fight. So far I am impressed by your OC coverage!!! Keep the impressive work up.

It’s sad to see all this “chest pumping” in this forum. If people learned to compliment rather than boast and criticize other servers everyone would have a much more enjoyable experience. Good fight last week from Maguuma and Ehmry Bay.

I saw a lot of talent from Ehmry Bay and Maguuma in WvWvW battle last week. Mannnnnnnn, ehmry bay has some of the best elementalists I have seen so far!!! And the defensive power Maguuma has on towers and keeps is incredible. I respect both servers, however this “chest pumping” isn’t nice. Yaks Bend has some excellent 5 man groups that roam all Border Lands, the fact that you probably haven’t seen them is because they don’t go out of their way to gank people, they cap and do their job.

To [OG] from Maguuma: Please stop the chest pumping, I fought you guys on several occasions and I’m impressed by your skill. However you aren’t untouchable. Me and some 2 other guildies were running around on low level toons and got ganked by a group of ele’s and thiefs from your guild. You killed us a few times, /laugh or /dance on our corpses. We simply logged off, logged on to our mains, found you guys and wiped your group with only 3 of us. I’m not saying my guild is the best, I’m just asking you to stop boasting because you are not unstoppable…we stopped your whole party of 5 with 3 of us.

IMO, thieves only need one change… and that is their elite skill “spin to win”. I’m not saying this elite skill is OP, but this skill does not fit into the characteristics of an “assassin” class. Thiefs specialise in single target destruction, hence the high DPS output they have. I don’t see a problem with the DPS of thieves, they lack survivability and thus need high DPS to make up for it. I don’t see a problem in stealth, it can get annoying at times if they continue to stealth and then attack, but thieves with this play style rarely make an impact in WvW, and they are usually glass cannons which means they take the risk of being downed in an instant.

Now back to the change… “spin to win” effectively transforms thieves from a high single target dps class to a high multi target dps class. This defeats the purpose of the class and doesn’t really make sense that they would have a skill like that. I’m not complaining, it doesn’t bother me (because personally I find thieves one of the easier classes to defeat), but I’m just suggesting that if any change is needed to the class, it’s to replace “spin to win” with a more suitable single target elite skill for a single target specialty class

As a Yak’s Bend player, I have to say that this week of WvW so far has been really fun. The last three weeks being in t3 against the overwhelming TC server eventually got boring and I think most YB players would agree that majority of our WvW players didn’t even bother after 3 weeks in a row.

Firstly, hats off to the players of Maguuma and Ehmry Bay. Both servers have improved a lot since we last versed you.

Ehmry Bay has some of the most talented players in 1v1 or small group battles I have ever seen. T3 was a tough battle, but I never once saw a Tarnished Coast player with the skill I have seen in Ehmry Bay players (not to be rude about TC, they are definitely a power house server). I have had a lot of fun battling EB.

Maguuma, your server has improved so much. Many individual players with skill on your server, but the strong leadership on your server and the excellent team work you guys have are outstanding, and I believe if your server had a few more WvW players you would definitely be a strong match for higher tiers.

As far as hacking or exploits, I’m yet to see any of this from either server. Both Ehmry Bay and Maguuma players should be proud of their servers. I’d love to have another round against both servers in the future.
