Do you like not having dedicated healers?

1) No. I played a paladin in wow and liked that I can spec to 3 different type of playstyles depending on what my guild and arena team needed. It adds a different level of strategy to the battlegrounds.

2) Yes. I miss being a healer sometimes and when combined with a warrior, we can wreck the battlegrounds. I believe Anet left out a large demographic of players who want to purely heal. Bunkers seem to be harder to kill than most healers because taking down a healer requires more cc and better timing than a permacleanse guardian/ele.

3)Not necessarily, because healers have to be considered when assaulting a point. Same as how u need 2+ players to take down a bunker. In a 2v2 situation a healer on either team would need to be cc’d in order to take down his teammate. But I don’t feel it makes a difference having a healer or a bunker.

I understand people not wanting long drawn out fights because of healers, but I don’t want to see 5 sec fights either (esp. if this game is to be an esport). LoL is an esport because battles last around 30mins (fairly long in my opinion) and require different classes (including healers) to achieve victory. I think healers create more teamwork among players because of their high value. If my healer was being attacked, I have to make decisions as to whether I can down my opponent before he dies or I have to peel the enemy off my healer. Or as a ret paladin, I have to burn my only big heal to keep my healer alive.

Will there be more pvp modes?

I agree 100%. I played wow since vanilla and enjoyed the concept of battlegrounds but didn’t like the grind and gear imbalances. I love the GW2 but I would like to see similar game types that forces players to work together for a goal (esp. against other servers). WvW just doesn’t cut it for those that want smaller scale pvp. Arenas, CTF, and raids against other servers would be awesome. Making the maps a little bigger would be cool too. That way, we have more chances to 1v1 in the middle of the map without interruptions.

On another note, I wish we could zoom our camera out just a little bit further cause it’s hard to see when everyone lays down AOEs.

My view on Death Shroud and Survivability

I feel like a punching bag whenever I pop DS. It really only buys me some time for my heal cd to be up. If the fear and chill are aoe, I could find more use for it. But with Life Blast scaling with how much life force you have, the damage done when your life force bar is 50% is not enough pressure on a target. Letting us use the utilities would be nice though.

Stealth Compromise

Stealth is always going to be a part of thieves/rogues/assassins in any mmo. The issue is how many times can that class do it. I think dodge should have been a more utilized trait rather than stealth though. I hate to make a wow comparison, but rogues in wow relied more on dodging attacks. Stealth should only be used to gain a preemptive attack or to run from a battle. I would rather hit a thief and miss than to have them bounce around with me seeing them only half the time.

That’s why I don’t use the golem. Having the summon go on cd because it stepped in some water makes it completely broken.

Aside from that, bone minions should chase their target and then explode like mesmer clones do.

And summoning cd’s should reset after death in sPvP.

Gear that you get from pvp should be allowed in pve but scaled to the players level.

Gw2 Pvp

Agreed. I bought this game thinking it was practically all pvp. I do like the fact that I don’t have to grind for gear to compete in pvp, but with only one map type (capping nodes) and the zerg fest in 8v8 (thankfully there’s 5v5 hotjoins now), I don’t see how this game can survive. I know it’s been a couple of months only, but I would think that a game that’s ready for release would not be adding new maps (sadly of the same game type) so soon. It makes me feel that the game is still in beta.

Tournaments need minor fixing but there should be 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 arena style matches where last man standing and their team wins. Other game types like capture the flag should be included as well to add variety to pvp. That way, we’ll see a variety of class builds being utilized, instead of all glass cannon builds. In tournaments, I see less of those so it’s not much of an issue there. If there are other game types, we’d see less bunker builds and glass cannons.

No dueling is a fail. How can someone practice against a certain class if they can’t dedicate time to duel against it?

And lastly, can we zoom the camera back a little further? A charr guardian doing whirling wrath takes up the whole screen. Even worse when there’s three charr guardians doing the same thing.

Disappointed at PvP variety...

I waited a long time for a PvP based game and I thought I found it in GW2, but I’m somewhat disappointed that there is only one form of PvP (never liked WvW). Any chance that Anet will create more game styles such as capture the flag? I hated the grind of WOW, but did enjoy the PvP, so I was hoping that Anet would create more PvP maps/games. Thoughts?
