Yeah any pet attack skill with long activation is pretty useless, since by the time it is activated, people can kite away easily.
Drake use fire breath! Pet stands there breathing flames at nothing.
A good immobilize would at least make these pets useful, now there’s only 2s from muddy terrain or drakehound, while many other classes get 3-4s decent cd immobilizes.
Many complaints would be solved by fixing mechanics rather than class balance (read culling).
Also some classes are good vs thieves (necro) while others suck. If you’re playing a class with low mobility/cc/condi removal, prepare to get pwned most thief fights :P
sPvP is suffering from numerous bugs and imbalances which annoys people too much. As a former long-time GW1 PvPer I have given up on sPvP until some decent fixes and updates have been implemented which can hopefully restore the competitive play of GW. (Also conquest is just boring)
In WvW it’s less obvious because the outcome/who wins is usually not based on winning a 5v5 or 1v1 fight.
When will the culling/rendering out of stealth be fixed?
This is getting too annoying really.
I just rolled my lvl 28 thief into WvW and I can easily keep 4 ppl distracted for 10 mins without getting under 75% health, all because of too much stealth/not rendering giving me even more time annoy enemies.
Also a general nuisance when fighting thieves.
At least in GW1, when an assassin used his burst and failed, he’d have to be really good to stay alive, while now there is the panic button stealth spam.
Doesn’t really matter since any other class will be better.
For pvp you may wanna roll warrior/thief for burst builds, or mesmer/guardian/ele for bunker builds.

So what happens when someone in melee range uses a ranged attack at your counter attack? You don’t get the knockback anymore? That’s not much of an improvement. Also, the ‘counter attack’ is way too easy to kite around, just a simple strafe and the skill loses most of its value.
I usually run GS in pvp because you need the block against burst/stealth spam but it’s pretty weak compared to what other professions can do.
Seems like backstab hs thieves live another day -.-’
Rangers in GW1 were good in PvP at least.
I’ve always been a fan of ranger in GW1 and GW2.
Today I hoped that we’d get more useful skills/balances.
Right now your only chance of winning is 1. shooting someone off a cliff with point blank shot 2. hoping the enemy makes a dumb mistake and you play perfectly (especially vs imba professions like thief and mesmer).
If this is it and no more updates will come in the next few days, I’ll just play another profession because I’m tired of playing top notch ranger and getting facerolled by a mediocre stealth spam thief.
