So what exactly was this video meant to show?… You even declared yourself these are not optimal challengers… Aka complete noobs… hell look at the Powermancer focus your wolf for half a century…. A ranger can take on inexperienced players with little to no effort especially with the Flavour of the month Condition Cheese build+Full stacks but when matched against someone that actually knows what they’re doing, the Ranger comes into its own scale of underpowered.. Yes. We don’t lack mobility but I can bet any amount of money a good player knows you can lock down a ranger easier than anything, not to mention a large majority of the other classes can match or beat us when it comes to mobility.

Personally, if you were trying to say that rangers are equal to the other classes. Find some experienced Veterans of the other classes and go up against them with their current Meta builds…

Just bringing it to everyones attention that you can go back about 35 pages into the Ranger forum without seeing a single post from a Developer. The latest one being 5 months ago… Now I’m truly hopeful that a Dev might stumble across these forums and see all the suggestions and possible things everyone has been saying that would benefit the class but I fear my hopes have been a bit dashed.

After returning to the heart of the mists from a Hotjoin Game I notice one of the ArenaNet Staff standing in the lobby, a Character by the name of ‘Nightmare’. a warrior none the less and running of course the cookie cutter Hambow build and in my sassyness I exclaimed “Hambow warrior.. No wonder other classes don’t get anything in balance patches.” to which I received them starting to /dance and saying “/cry” in local chat.

Im Honestly getting to the point of giving up on this whole ordeal… I don’t think Ranger or any other Underpowered or unbalanced class is going to be looked at in terms of fixing if Devs have the attitude of just ‘Who cares’….

I’d Love to see what everyone thinks, you might have had a similar experience or something. Just Leave a response and hopefully we get some Dev activity on the forum.

Just bringing it to everyones attention, Pet F2 ability cooldowns are currently bugged, they recharge at an incorrect pace, the Cooldown timer on Pet skills shows the Pet recharge as if they are “Chilled” Meaning it takes 66% longer for skills to recharge.
I’ve only experienced this bug after my pet has been in combat and has been chilled.

so be warned, Your pet skills may seem to be on recharge but they actually are not, you can use them.

What annoys me the most is that this is a legitimate suggestion to get some cool new pets (Griffons would be freakin amazing) but there always has to be an obvious troll saying they want something stupid… like Llama with everything. Its of course a stupid joke but it takes all merit away from the thread… Please if you dont have anything constructive to say, Dont say anything.

So heres the problem…
Ranger doesn’t have one.

Now I can’t be the only one that feels like ranger is a forgotten class, we have so many things that still need tweaking, Only recently I’ve realised how Low resolution the pets are but thats beside the point. I’ve come to a point in my Ranger life that when I showcase the class to people interested I always lead with “Ranger can do everything, BUT every other class can do it better” it’s like we’re an underpowered jack-of-all-trades and because of that it has left a sour taste in the mouth of the community, both rangers and others. A perfect example of this is say “LFM Fotm 49, Zerk only, No rangers”

Now let me throw this out to the Ranger population and see what response I get.
How many of the 45 pets ingame have you used?
Most Power rangers I see and speak to usually respond with 3 main ones, Bear, Jaguar, and Wolf.
Most Condition rangers respond with Lynx, Or a Spider of some sort.
In my honest opinion I’ve used very few mainly because I feel obligated to, If I dont take Wolf, if I dont take Jaguar, if I dont take Lynx, I’m losing a massive power that the class needs. I will say the AI changes (Or upcoming, because I haven’t noticed anything) to pets have/will be good but not enough to justify rangers as a “Master” of something.

How many times have you felt useless when you’re doing anything, be it WvW, PvP or PvE?

Now this is just one example of how we might be considered a Jack-of-all-trades, or “We can do everything but everyone else can do it better”

If you really look you can find many aspects of the Ranger profession, better in others.

Now I’m going to Harp on this, PETS arn’t the saving grace of this class, Dont get me wrong I love my Pets but they arn’t the mechanic in this game that makes the Ranger a “Master” of something, just a friendly reminder that putting complete faith in an AI that you have minimal control over and is forced to Tank in a fast paced-Dodging-Invulnerability frames combat system is beyond absurd.

There are so many issues with this class that need attention that it has become tiring listing them over, and over to try and raise awareness. Please, Pleaseeee feel free to add things to this you think need addressing, We need activity in the Ranger Community for anything at all to be done, create your own threads, Raise Hell, do anything! just try and get ranger in the spotlight. I’ve ranted and Raved about stuff that probably doesn’t make sense anymore so I’ll reiterate.

Why move the pet traits to beastmastery?
The Beastmastery tree is extremely underused in the Ranger community due to the massive amount of QQ about pets in general, and moving every single trait to that one tree will just lead to more QQ about pets, at least spreading them out give people more variety when it comes to building a ranger AND including your pet in that build.

So I actually quite like having a pet I’ve grown attached to my Owl and Jaguar, but say Anet releases Legendary obtainable pets, something with a little stat increase and a more cosmetic appearance, would you get them? and how would you like to get it?

Personally I’d love to see this, rangers barely get any love, not to mention this might bring rangers up in the community and not be considered useless
I’d like a really interesting way of getting it, like a crafting recipe for a map or something then scout its path all over tyria in hopes of getting into a Random encounter with it.

Personally I think the Coat/dye scheme is letting you down, I’ve just thrown something together using as many items that you have already, Dyes are completely optional- just thrown in a Emblazoned Red and Pyre version.

The only issue I find would be the Twilight arbor Legs and boots, Dyes don’t particularly agree with them when it comes to mixing and matching sets as you can see in the Red set, its a lot Darker and seems out of place.

The only Condi clear we can trait for is Survival of the Fittest and Evasive Purity (posion and blind clear on dodge), now take that…. and compare it to say a Warriors Cleansing Ire… We lack effective condi clear, not to mention once again this is a Nature magic tree…………………………..

Now I cant possibly be the only one that finds ranger has ZERO functional condi clear, now I know you can trait for Empathetic bond or Survival of the Fittest, but lets just take a Second to look at the only heal we have the removes any sort of Conditions, Healing spring….. it essentially removes 1 condition on cast then you need to stand rooted in the AoE for the following clears , this mechanic on ranger is just absurd, if you look at the current state of Rangers amongst the other classes, and the now heavy focus on Condition specs, you need to kite around to even slightly ease incoming pressure.

See what I’m getting at here? Kite + healing spring doesn’t mix, just leaving us with virtually no Utility Condi clear… it honestly feels like Ranger is a Class of mechanics just thrown together in hopes of working. For the love of all things good, please Arenanet give us some good condi clear. We as a class shouldn’t feel like we’re being forced to run -% Condi duration just to make up for something that should be there in the first place.

And before anyone mentions Empathetic bond, in terms of playing towards the mechanics of the Class you don’t really want to Sacrifice a pet to conditions meaning a loss in a good 30%-40% of Damage if played properly, Also Signet of Renewal, another skill designed directly against the mechanics of the Class, for the pet to pull all conditions from Allies as well as yourself is just beyond stupid.

Now Survival of the Fittest is OK at best, you can run 4 total Survival skills (one of which is a 150 second CD Elite) meaning a total 8 condi clear, but then remember to get this GRANDMASTER trait its 6 (or 30) into the Nature magic line, which in turn limits build opportunities, not to mention that most Survival skills have Longer cool downs unless traited for 20% reduction.

I want to rant some more but I’ll leave this up for discussion, On my final note I want to reiterate, Arenanet… Please give Rangers some love…

Just opening this up for discussion, Would you rather New skills or New pets? Personally I want some new pets, nothing over powered but cosmetic things, imagine a ranger running around with a mini Shatterer or Jormag pet that has basic bird stats, or even a Canine reskin to look like a Hound or Balthazar, Or even some pets from Gw1 like the Rainbow Pheonix and White tiger.
So yeah Whats everyones opinion?

Just something I’ve noticed recently with the Pure of Voice Grandmaster trait, the trait effectively “Removes” or “converts” 1 Condition, yet Conditions with Higher stacks do NOT take Priority, for instance if you have 12 stacks of Bleeding but 2 stacks of Vulnerability applied before the Bleeding the 2 Vulnerability stacks will be removed First, Virtually making this form of Condition cleanse useless unless you keep track of what conditions where placed on you and when. Soo,

Pure of Voice Grandmaster trait, Not taking Higher Conditions stacks as Priority.
