All (most of) the people, who complain about the jumping part are just noobs, who got used to being carried by more experienced/skilled players while zerging around. My impression of this new living world is very good, because everything was finally made a solo effort (thus achievements are now actual achievements, not just stading around until others do stuff for me). Because you are now completely independent of random fools, who ruin everything for you, many people got all the new achievements the first/second day, while the noobs decided to complain on the forum that they cannot press spacebar a single time.
My advice is… get used to this. You will no longer be carried by more experienced players. Train hard, push yourself to your limits and complete all the content on your own. If you do not want to get better and cannot perform simple tasks like jumping, this is a wrong game for you.
Amazing living world Anet, thank you for that. Keep it up!
Wow, cool idea, +1 from me.
I don’t know how hugely will this impact the game, but just after reading it, it already sounds absolutely amazing. I really hope it gets implemented in some way.
@OP: I don’t really get it. How do you want to prevent players from being nearby each other and how is it an exploit? LoSing – the same. Would you expect the enemy to try to kill the players through wall or from behind a corner? It is pretty obvious that if the enemy cannot reach them, it will come closer so that it can hit them.
If you really believe that there should be no tactics or organization during battles and strafing around instead while mashing the same buttons randomly “is much more skill”, try to say it to the romans…
Thank you!
I just did it and wanted to share my experience. As I am not one of you crazy skilled people, I figured an “easy mode” build would be a necessity for my victory. I copied the core of the build OP suggested (just with major runes, because I didn’t have cash for superiors ATM) and tried. Failed a few times anyway, but in the end, I got it!! Nothing really beats this feeling.
So… unless you are a super skilled warrior master, don’t be expecting an effortless victory even with this build, but it will at least give you a chance. Don’t give up, learn, try harder and harder and you will achieve it!
Is this event really as poorly designed as I understand it? You complete it and from then, your rewards are determined solely by how many other players will complete it? You cannot do it again (like guild rush) to assure you get full reward, you are just completely reliant on something you have absolutely no control of. I dislike some stuff in this living world, I like some stuff, but this is seriously the stupidest design anyone could ever come up with.
Prior to the “feature pack” update, Arenanet stated that they are unhappy about how destructive the transmutation system was. So they finally decided to make the change that many players tought should be part of the game since launch.
Nonetheless, the problem with runes/sigils persists, and I fail to see how is it different from the former transmutations. Upgrading your equipment is still (in lots of cases) a destructive process and in order to make it non-destructive, you are forced to buy an expensive gem store item.
