Best dungeons for a beginner to learn?

I’d say later focus on getting to know eventually : (values difficulty out of 5 )

  • COF 1+2 ( 1 , 2 ) ( lvl 75 )
  • AC full ( 2 , 3 , 2 ) ( lvl 35 ) (good money)
  • COE full ( 3 , 3 , 4 ) ( lvl 80 )
  • SE 1,3 ( 2 , 3 ) ( lvl 65 )
  • TA FW and UP ( 3 , 3 ) ( lvl 55 )
  • Arah 1,3,4 ( 4 , 4 , 3 ) ( lvl 80 ) (nice armor)

Wait, what? CoE P3 is harder than Arah 4? What? WHAT?
From a perspective of a new player, especially when running with pugs, Arah would be an order of magnitude more difficult than most of the paths you named. Also, P2 is much more worthwhile learning than P4.

Someone shouldn’t have to buy new gear just to do enough dungeons to get 500 tokens

Yes, you’re absolutely right. But no one should be forced to play with that guy either. If you find other like-minded people, it’s perfectly fine if you do dungeons with underleveled necro in blue cleric gear. Just keep in mind that most people using lfg are expecting to be matched up with perfectly prepared players ready to carry them through (just like you most likely expect from others too). Therefore, anybody who fails to meet the standards given by majority of the dungeon community is being weeded out by the lfg system in the form of kicks. As I said. If you don’t want to be kicked by a group of randomly matched-up players that’ll never meet you again, you’d better get some berserker gear. If you want to play in a different way, you’ll need to pull off a substantial amount of effort in order to find people willing to support you in this. It’s just how this game works. It’s how ALL multiplayer games work.

I remember seeing another topic on this subject more than 3 months ago, it’s a pretty old issue. Since then I’ve only tried going for it once and obviously I didn’t get anything. Achievement registration seems completely random, no matter whether you meet the conditions or not.
I’d really like Anet to finally do something about this. I mean… I get they don’t care about PvE, let alone dungeons, but you’d kinda expect them to at least fix major progression-stopping bugs (meaning achievement progression).

If there are 4 more people out there willing to do this broken nonsense over and over again and try our luck getting this kittened achiev, feel free to call me (EU) whenever I’m online, I will join you. Otherwise, it’s probably no use trying to get it, you’ll just frustrate yourself unnecessarily.

I’d like to point out an entirely different thing that’s wrong with this build (surprised so many people overlooked it :P).
If you’re going with the stat+agony infusions, creating versatile ones where it’s not needed is a HUGE waste. Like you’d need to be super rich not to notice this. You seem to be using only one power infusion out of the 4 slots on your 2 weapon sets, the remaining 3 are versatile infusions.
Also, one of the trinkets that come in pairs is ALWAYS gonna be offensive and the other defensive. While it’s possible to use both defensive (one un-infused and the other one infused), it highly doubt it’s the case. Therefore you’ll have at least 2 offensive slots allowing you to save some money.
As for the amulet… if you know you’re going for an offensive infusion, why not buy the one that comes with the appropriate slot?

Last, maybe the most important thing… you have the money to go for stat infusions, some of them even unnecessarily expensive, yet you still have 2 pieces of armor of exotic quality? :O I just can’t understand this.

I don’t know whether you’re playing TP or a friend sent you money or what. But if you’re THAT rich, why are you even bothering with dungeons?

The future of underwater combat

What puts me off the most is what they did with aquabreathers. Is there any logical reason why we cannot craft them like EVERY OTHER type of armor? It’s just an underwater version of helmet and so far, the best quality available to us is exotic and getting it required disproportionate amount of effort.

Am I the only one who thinks this doesn’t make any sense? Getting you underwater gear is more difficult than the normal gear, even though you don’t get to use it or get any benefit from it nearly as much.

Me and a lot of my friends do all dungeons daily except for HotW…. yeah, you guessed why. Unless I feel rewarded for it, there’s no reason why should I invest my time and resources in preparation for all of the underwater content. So far it only seems to me Anet wants to discourage players from even touching it.

Need help with acended armor crafting

Since you have a lot of gold, I will assume you only need the account bound materials for crafting.
Bloodstone dust drops from all kinds of champion boxes. If you play the game, you should have plenty of this material by now.
Empyreal fragments are probably easiest to come by in dungeons. You get some after completion of any path including fractals, so if you do your daily dungeon routine for at least a week, you should be stocked up on that pretty good.
Dragonite ore drops from chests in the two new maps (DT and SW), so if you did your living story, just grab all your keys and go farm for a while. Note that in DT you can only farm chests from xx:40 to xx:00 and in SW chests are initially hidden, so you may want to join a chest farm zerg. Alternatively, you can get dragonite from doing world bosses.

All of these methods also produce some amount of extra materials and gold, so doing these daily will basically get you most materials for asc crafting. Rest you can get from TP.
For leveling up you crafting, I recommend looking up a guide on the internet, it will save you some time and possibly a significant amount of gold. Some of these guides are actually so intelligent, that they download data from TP and tell you the best way to level up your crafts as of the moment, so they’re always up to date!

5 guard only new meta

Tarasicodissa.7084

So I went ahead and… tried it for myself. Whoa, that was an amazing experience.
First, I’m glad to see that pugs are able to adapt and successfuly execute meta strategies in such a short time, even if it’s just a temporary game-breaking meta.
This definitely changes things. Not much skill or gameplay required, you rarely have to dodge and DPS is by far superior to any other tactics, that involves even remotely as much effort.
Even though Anet generally doesn’t care about PvE, this is actually so gamebreaking that I expect them to patch it very soon, so… enjoy it while it lasts.

I don’t know what was your experience, but the people I got from LFG were pretty good. Despite using this “cheezy” tactics, they apparently knew the dungeons pretty well and were perfectly aware of how things work, so it was not just mindlessly copying the meta.

As stated above… let the people have fun. We don’t know how much time have we got, so use it while you can. I bet most of us don’t do dungeons for the challenge anymore anyway, so I’m glad I can now safely pug my way through the daily routine and grab the reward so quickly without having to worry about wiping constantly.

Best class for world bosses

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tarasicodissa.7084

Depends on your definition of “best”.
If you wanna be most helpful and actually do something to the boss, go fullzerk staff ele. Since there are usually multiple spots to hit, ele deals a whole ton of damage. Another option would possibly be a guardian. Not nearly as much damage, but you might save the people around that don’t bother doding (99% of them) with your stability/blocks.
If by “best” you mean most cheezy for you, just roll a pew pew ranger, toggle AA and you can go AFK. Return in 10 minutes and collect the chest.

Don’t expect much difference between the two options, you’re just one person out of a huge mass. However, if a significant amount of people go with the non-cheezy way, you will see a difference.

Finally a challenge for the hardcore players,…

You gotta be kidding, right? A challenge for hardcore players would be to complete arah solo without armor or kill lupicus only using dodges.
Teq is not a hardcore challenge, it is a game of roulette. If you happen to be lucky and get on a map with decent players (that is – using proper class, gear and rotations), then you can succeed easily and actually be done in no time. If you get unlucky, tough (getting on a map with noobs and afkers), then no matter what you do, what is your personal skill and performance and how well you prepared for the encounter, you will fail anyway. I honestly don’t care how they buff or nerf tequatl or any other bosses. I did them before the “broke everything” patch, I did them after the patch, now I do them after the “try to fix things” patch.
They were no challenge before and they are no challenge still. What I could use, though, would be a tool to prevent random noobs from joining a map I play on. I hate how Anet forces me to carry underleveled necros in healing gear that spend all the time on floor. Let us play with people we choose, people of similar thinking and skill. After you let us manage the map copies, then you can buff tequatl even more to be an actual challenge. But now with all the intrusive noobs all around, some content is completely uplayable, like TT.

Warrior is my personal favorite. Lots of blocks/evades, decent DPS (especially after the patch), fast movement speed (GS) and some neat things like fast hands.
Guardian might be cool for some types of content, lots of blocks and high reflect uptime. Mesmer is quite similar, there are just few minor differences. Ranger and Engi both can do, but they are harder to control and pull off well. Unless you find these classes really enjoyable, I would recommend stick with the other ones.
If you like min-maxing, I would go with Ele or Thief. Both great DPS, some blinds and generally bruteforce oriented gameplay. Most stuff melts before it spots you. They require a little bit of learing at the beginning, but should be generally OK to pull off after you go through it.
I’d try to avoid necro, it lacks some important stuff and doesn’t perform well compared to other classes. It really all comes down to your preferred playstyle and taste. Almost any class can do almost anything, you just wanna consider a few things:
Do you need reflects?
Do you need high DPS or can just go with more relaxed gameplay?
How does the class perform outside of combat (movement speed,…)?
How hard and time-consuming is the class to learn?
Hope this helps you decide.

In my experience CC is also a thing, so you might wanna prepare some stability for that. If you get CC’ed by an enemy or reach 30 stacks while breaking the seal, it fails and you lose the charge. I’ve had some occasional misses as well and I figured it was probably due to some random CC rather than bad range. It is actually pretty easy to reach to the seal without being knocked back. You just gotta watch for your stacks and enemies.

The only time skipping is bannable is when you abuse a terrain glitch to make your way to a place you clearly weren’t supposed to reach, e.g. under the map or inside a wall. Other than that, you’re free to skip anything the game allows you to. You can take advantage of skills that facilitate skipping, you can even make yourself invisible if you happen to have a thief on your party!
Skipping is actually a pretty common habit in dungeons as it saves you a lot of time (while you sacrifice almost no loot), even more so when there are fewer players in the party, since it would take ludicrous amount of time to defeat everything in sight.

//Edit: Sorry for being unclear – as Jerus pointed out below, thief is by no means required for stealthing. Special items allow any class to use stealth plus some other classes also posses stealth abilities. Nonetheless, thief is IMO best option for longer stealth sections (like CM and Arah) and pretty straightforward for beginners.

LFG-Few things are more frustrating...

Tarasicodissa.7084

I can see a problem with that. Even if you had the option to filter out people under certain level of power/prec/ferocity, which would be absolutely fantastic despite some anti-elitist jerks still being against it, you have no control over the level of experience since the game cannot reasonably track it. Let’s take CM as an example. Okay, you can finally get a person with proper class and gear you’re looking for. Now when he enters, he runs around for a couple of minutes until you draw the way for him on the minimap, he finally joins the party, thief stealths the whole group, but half way the new one randomly hits an enemy and next thing you see is the floor.
Nice, now I have to wait 10 minutes before I can try my luck in the LFG roulette again.
There is a certain level of understanding and preparation I take for granted, when I look for someone to do dungeons with me. And if pugs don’t meet that (99% of the cases), they simply have to go. I don’t kick people because they wear too shiny armor. That would be silly. When I kick someone, I have very good reasons for that, usually their performance not being up to the standards of the group. And if anyone asks me after he’s out, I usually don’t ingore him and tell him the reasons. But actually, in pugs, much more common thing is I specifically ask for a class in the LFG, random necro joins, gets kicked and still has the guts to ask why we kicked him.
So no, the idea of 10 minutes before reposting LFG seems to hard to make work properly and would be easily exploitable by random trolls. But as for the checkboxes to filter out people with insufficient level/class/gear, I’m definitely for that.

Anet please stop "Stacking"!!!

Tarasicodissa.7084

So far in every dungeon I’ve run the strategy is the same. Everyone follows the one guy who knows the map, we find a little corner then stand on top if each other and spam all our skills while standing there.

Then you run past all the mobs and find another corner to stack up in and repeat…

Dude, do you even dungeon? O.o
You’ve just came to the dungeon section of gw2forums, people here actually think about stuff, not just mindlessly execute pug tactics. If you did dungeons properly, you’d knew that there are very very few spots where people rush to a corner to LoS enemies (not to be confused with stacking!), otherwise we just burn everything as it spawns. Unless you wanna waste time of course.
So if you dislike LoSing (which is fine, as long as you have logic – not emotional – reasons for that), make your own LFG party, complain to the pugs and teach them, there is absolutely no need to post here (devs and GMs won’t read it or react to it anyway).

Tarasicodissa.7084

I don’t honestly care what people do in their free time, as long as they don’t spoil my work. If you wanna clear a personal story instance of all the enemies and use PTV gear to do so, go ahead. But if someone as useless comes to an event I’m doing, he scales enemy HP up and does next to 0 damage, effectively wasting my time and prolonging the fight unnecessarily.
I don’t have any problems with casuals. The problem is, Anet is forcing me to play with them. Either let me use some filters so I can play with equally skilled and likeminded people, or return to the gw1’s open world design, where I can choose whether I want to venture out with someone else, or do everything on my own.

So the cave troll IGNORES everything....

Tarasicodissa.7084

If you have a lot of time to spare and all you care about is defeating the troll, you can kite him to the enemies at Foefire’s Heart and they will begin fighting each other. In story mode, troll will win, in explo, Kholer will defeat him easily (since he will spawn elites that heal him). Based on that, you might want to help either of the sides and damage the one with more health.
Nonetheless, I find troll to be too annoying to deal with solo, so skipping him seems to be the best option.

If you have 2 eles in your party (which you should of course), there’s no reason to have PMS warrior.
If you, for some reason, have only a single ele, then I’d suggest this build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNAR3ZjMd09ZtH+dwJaAmg6aCEA6qi0rQME8A-TRROwAjU+BY/Bi6GAr+jMlgiBIP-e
This is of course assuming that one ele prestacking might, fury and vuln on the boss. If there’s no ele in the party at all, I’d suggest leaving.

You can make little tweaks to the build here and there, but elite signet is definitely superior choice as you share more might stacks (and get better fury uptime if the fight prolongs), inspiring banners are completely optional as well, but they paid off many times to me and strenght runes again would probably not be neccessary, but maintaining >90% health in suboptimal party isn’t a guaranteed thing, so I would put my bet on strenght.

TA Aether "Stay Cool" Achievement Bug?

Tarasicodissa.7084

I have been having the same problem for quite some time. I am currently stuck at 16/17 and can’t happen to finish this last one. We tried many different strategies, my friends got this achiev, but I seem to fail every time.
From what I’ve observed, to get this achiev you:
Can have the oozes die during the first tries and still get it.
Can have your friends run into fire and still get it.
Can not run into fire yourself.
Can not have any of the oozes run into fire.
Many times I’ve successfully met the conditions yet I didn’t get the achiev, even though my friends did. Double checked. Guess this game hates me.

As for the strats we use for this room, two heavies (war + guard) run in there first and attract all the lava eles, then two others move in to lead the oozes, we kill the elementals and finish the escort safely. Unless something goes really wrong, it usually takes about 2 minutes.

If you have any additional info about this puzzle’s mechanics or know why I can’t get the achiev, I would be really glad as it annoys me I have the section unfinished.

I don’t question the percentage you calculated. I haven’t checked the numbers precisely, but 7-8 percent seem about right. The problem is you concluded the boost for the whole party is 5*7,48 = 37,4%. If exotic→ascended boosts your personal DPS by 7,5 percent, then you wearing it will have the whole group do 1,5% more damage overall (that is assuming every member has the same DPS, which is not true → just simplifying). And if everyone is wearing ascended, the group as a whole will get that 7,5% boost. Not five times that.

As for the ranger vs thief problem, I would always choose thief. Rangers don’t have shorter rotations than thieves, both of them can usually execute the important attacks before the boss dies. Also, since thief has naturally more DPS, it will do more damage with conjures.
The skipping part plays an important role in coordinated runs as well, most strategies rely on not aggroing mobs and saving significant amount of time. These are not necessary by any means (you can complete the dungeon anyway), but saving time is what all of us aim for.
I have nothing against rangers. I like them and when they play well, they do decent damage as well as party buffing. I do casual runs with rangers regularly, but I was just pointing out that in optimized group ranger is probably as good as a second war (maybe a tiny bit more). You still tend to see 1 war 1 thief 2 eles 1 guard in most speedruns and there’s a good reason.

Well, last time I managed to avoid 2+ warriors in a PuG group was… probably never. Nonetheless, as long as everyone plays well and knows the stuff, I don’t mind the group being suboptimal. Recently I’ve had a PuG FotM run with 3 wars and 2 eles, I was kinda afraid and ready to leave, but actually the run ended up being decently smooth (for PuGs).

You complain about 2 warriors in a party being suboptimal, yet you bring a ranger to META parties yourslef? There is something appealing to me about dungeons that will always make me like them more than open world. Dungeons and FotM are instanced, meaning I can play them solo if I decide to or with a group of friends I choose.
In open world, I am forced to play with casuals, see them make the same mistakes over and over again and waste my time because some dead PTV scrub is upscaling the events by not using WPs.
Because of this frustration, I’ve already stopped doing world bosses and any kind of open-world PvE whatsoever. If it gives substantial reward, yes, I will probably do it (and face my fear of casuals), but unless they allow me to play in my own map instances like in gw1, I will always enjoy and actually do dungeons a lot more.

P.S. I should mention I know about the deletion of all characters resetting free transferability, but I have a max level char and a level 38 on there…

Are you even serious? Friends of mine deleted 5+ fully geared 80s to transfer for free and I’m completely sure there are players out there who deleted 10s of them. If you have only a single lvl 80 char, there is absolutely nothing to hesitate about, you can get another one in like an hour or two.
Unless you have something extremely valuable bound to a character (dunno what could that be) that you would lose by deleting it, there is nothing you should worry about. As I said, you can get a new 80 in a few hours, or possibly in a few days if you don’t wanna craft-rush it but play casually instead.

COF p2 Magg bug - how to avoid?

My little theory we tested during few of our guild runs was that you can avoid it by having someone stand just before the lava field while the other person walks over it. Magg will stay with the one before lava fields and when he WPs, he will almost instantly teleport to the one waiting at the magma stone, thus not engaging in combat (likely). Not sure if this is a 100% bug-proof method, but it worked decently. It is also a wise idea to have someone as a backup in case the runner gets a lag and dies.

Basically you will need to adapt. In order to maximize group damage, you will have to evaluate your teammates’ ability to provide necessary buffs. If there are less than 2 eles in your party (or they suck), you may want to swap to PS build (usually something like 0/6/0/6/2). If your party fails to maintain 25 vuln stacks, you want either rending strikes (my personal favorite) or fast hands, so that you can swamp to axe/mace often and apply extra vuln. If your party lacks fury, take for great justice, signet of fury otherwise. Both banners (= strength and discipline) are obligatory.
If you are in a good group and have enough of everything, feel free to go for maximum personal DPS, that’s your primary task anyway.

Lol Zenith, I’ve been playing the game since Beta… I know how it works.

No, you don’t.
You said fractals take 1+ hours, not mentioning you did only lvl 10. In fact, in very very casual groups (that are at least a bit competent), they take about 30 minutes on lvl 50 (depending on RNG).
Support guard. Meh, do I even have to comment? If you think you can get away with a healing machine and don’t ever dodge or know the boss’ animations, you just don’t play the game right.
Not enough AR for level 10? You can get enough for lvl 50 in a week or two, so what were you doing since beta?
To get back to your post… no, you don’t know how it works. I have the feeling you were to fractals (and dungeons in general) for your first time. If it is so, you should learn the stuff first before blaming your team for actually having some DPS. If it wasn’t your first time, there must be something seriously wrong with you.

First, as Jerus said, LoSing bosses (not to be confused with stacking) is an old tactic that only makes things more difficult. So yaaay… pugs like challenge.
Second, “spamming skills” is something only noobs do. Yeah, every other day someone comes here to the dungeon forum and rants how dungeons are braindead easy and how he can complete it just spamming autoattack. The fact is you are being carried and your party can succeed only thanks to players who don’t spam skills, but rather activate them in very particular order (== rotation) and, for that matter, know what to bring for every encounter.
I’d also like to see some gw1 mechanics implemented in gw2 as well (hard mode, H/H, less HP for enemies), but please, before you judge the game and PvE strategies, learn something about it. If you get a good party and just watch them carry you through the whole thing, it sure must seem braindead, but as soon as you’re forced to do something useful on your own, you will discover that dungeons provide challenge, fun and competitive environment.

Hi guys. This may seem like a stupid question, but recent discussions in our guild made me slightly insecure about this one, even though I used to think I know it very well.
Do enemies scale (i.e. lower health, less damage) based on how many party members are there in a dungeon instance?
Also… was this ever changed during the development of the game, or was it always working the same?
Thanks in advance.

There is plenty of videos and guides out there everyone can use, but if someone is too selfish or lazy to spend a little bit of his time to learn the path properly, I see no reason why should I carry them. Also, bringing right build is something I don’t even ask for, I take it as automatic. When I see guard autoattacking with his staff and not laying down WoR, it’s time for a kick.
Btw… jumping to the ledge in SE P1 is something only stupid pugs do, good groups are already past this old meaningless strategy. Again, it really requires everyone to be prepared and do his job in order to achieve some efficiency in clearing dungeon paths and getting what we all do it for – the completion rewards. Seriously, after over 2 years nobody is interested in immersion, npc dialogues or wasting too much time in dungeons. Try to look at it from our perspective.

Need advises for solo only

Most fractals can be soloed, some of them are just hard to solo as they were intended for more players and some are physically impossible.
You may run into swamp or cliffside, which is possible to do solo (sandy FTW!), but extremely hard and not convenient for casual solos. Plus they might be impossible if you don’t happen to have the right class. Then there are dredge, where you need someone to stand on plates to open door, making it impossible for a single player to complete.
Low levels should be pretty easy to get through with a few people or solo, but for higher levels you may want to check out YT, which is full of videos where people solo sections or sometimes whole maps on level 50. This will however require a huge amount of skill and time as you will be also praying to RNGsus to get the right fractals.
If you like written guides, your best bet is probably gw2dungeons.net, it covers everything you will ever want to know.

why TA still so hard..?

There are a few more things average pug doesn’t know about TA. Usually they will target the archers in forward path (not calling target, just clicking them) and thus making them evade and prolonging the fight unnecessarily. Also, they won’t use blocks to go through the bubbles in the following encounter.
Honestly, once you get to know the basics of the dungeon, it becomes a pain to run it with pugs (even with most guilds). The only runs of TA that don’t make me rage out insanely are those of speedrun guilds I get to see on YT. Outside of those, you probably won’t see people using proper tactics in this dungeon.
Nonetheless, merely finishing the dungeon should be not a problem to even the terrible pugs. If you fail at skips, bring in a thief for stealth or something like guard/ele for destroying blossoms.
As for malrona, this is probably the simplest fight in all of GW2. Don’t forget she alternates regularly between the attacks, making her very predictable. Given that, there is no point in ranging her, melee does more damage anyway.
In any case, I wouldn’t liken TA to Arah by any means.

What is your favorit party composition?

… And there we go. After over 2 years of tweaking META, making very precise calculations to optimize DPS and planning every little step of your PvE experience, the ideal party you end up with will be:
Support necro (for their amazing group stability)
Condi mesmer (huge AoE DPS!!!!)
Nomad guardian (because who wants to dodge?)
PS warrior (because nobody wants an ele or knows what might stacking is)
And then probably another necro, because it’s everybody’s favorite class.
Oh and this is what you get if you ask a specialist. Don’t even dare to think what kind of party will be made by people, who don’t specialize in PvE.

I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

Passive defense and eating hits will always be inferior to active damage mitigation. If you are getting started and are not so familiar with the boss tactics, it might be a wise idea to mix in some soldier’s (PTV) gear to give you some room for mistakes. After you go through the same encounter for the 100th time, you already know what to watch out for and will do just fine with pure berserker’s gear.
You can get decent damage mitigation from:
1) Evades
2) Endure pain (against direct damage)
3) Berserker stance (against conditions)
4) Evades and blocks provided by weapons (greatsword 3, offhand sword 5)
5) Keeping enemies CC’ed (frost bow against bosses, any kind of CC against trash)
Also pay attention to positioning, you can avoid a lot of attacks just by not standing in front of an enemy.

Yeah, didn’t want to make it sound as silverwastes is boring, it is pretty fun as well. I liked the bosses and the design, but generally I tend to enjoy more involved and small-scale content like dungeons, that’s why I suggest it to the OP as a cool way to make gold.

You might also eventually want to get your hands on dungeons. It requires a bit of active performance and good preparation, but is definitely more fun than running around a map. Well… I guess it’s up to your taste. Dungeons are definitely my favourite, so I recommend you try them out and see if it’s your thing.

What really bugs me is that you cannot add items to an existing stack in guild bank. You have to withdraw the stack, merge them in your inventory and then put them back into guild bank. Super annoying.

Rytlock will kill Adelbern for you. I ended up DC’ing in this instance before Adelbern died, but Rytlock had gotten him down to 80% HP without taking any damage. Funniest thing I’d ever seen in this game xD

Your Rytlock is much op. Mine is a loser. He could have literally swung his kitten sword a single time to finish that silver mob (see the screen). He went AFK though and so did Eir.
(Don’t ask how I managed to die there, I don’t recall it myself.)

Edit: To not be completely off topic, I will share this recent story with you. I was pugging fractals, low level for daily. I got pretty decent group, 3 guys from a single guild and 1 guard from another one. As we got to a second map (hammer), I started paying more attention to how the guys were doing. Apparently, the guard was the only one using proper food (others had magic find, yaaaay) and he was doing very well, so I was glad we got him there. After a short while (for no reason, everything was going as usual) he left (but I suspect he was rather insta-kicked) to make place for another person from their guild – a ranger, who joined almost instantly. I was kinda afraid when I saw his 3 signets, but I decided to give him some time, he still might have had his PvE roaming set. Well… when he caught up with us, I had the pleasure to see his mighty bear. And spotter was obviously non-present. His terrible build wasn’t compensated by good play or knowing the encounters either, because when we arrived at Archdiviner and stacked to kill the trash mobs, he YOLOed out and aggroed him prematurely. Since the rest of the group was decent, I took my chances and finished the run with them (I was lazy to find another group), but I was constantly afraid of being kicked to make space for another kitten fullsignet bearbow. I mean… who does that? They had perfect guard who made no mistake throughout the whole run a took that scrub in his place. I wouldn’t do that even for a guildie, I would actually instantly kick him to make space for a pug, even the most terrible ones are usually better than this.

Sorry i brought it up, back on track:

“Sell AC Story 1,5g, Boss @0,1%”

I’m sorry, maybe I’m just a bit slower, but can you please explain to me what’s wrong with this one? As far as I know, not only it’s perfectly possible to get him to low health and AFK near him, but it is also achievable without exploiting (well… standing directly in front of him is kinda safespotting – nonetheless anet doesn’t care). If it’s the price, you might be surprised that good amount of people are willing to pay so much for AC story. Maybe they need to have it done on an alt but don’t want to go through it again.
So… I don’t really get it.

Read the Unrestricted rule before saying something like that. In Unrestricted there is no rule like that and you can relog/change character/leave dungeon use consumable etc. We were talking about banning this from RESTRICTED not UNRESTRICTED.

Oh is it so really? In that case I apologize, I may have been mislead by not seeing people relog even once in a really long time when looking for unrestricted records. Guess then relogging may not even be worth it after all.
Also, I seem to fail to find unrestricted ruleset on gwscr. Not only it is not on the main page, but the links to the gwscr forum get me to a non-existent topic.

The SSD x HDD problem in my opinion makes as much sense as necros complaining about eles being stronger. “Not fair, that class is much stronger than mine! Nerf plz.” Just like no one is forcing you to play necro and you are allowed to play any class you want as much as other players do, you are not forced to be playing on HDD and can get SSD any time you really want, it won’t get you a ban. So how can this possibly be an issue? No one has any kind of advantage, everyone is ALLOWED to have all the hardware they need.
I won’t be commenting on restricted, that one is supposed to be restrictive. But why have this nonsense on unrestricted? I would actually really like to see the rule about rerolling different classes being scrapped as well, because that would make some runs really interesting. There might be some passages where using other than standard party composition would be better, so you basically force players not to play optimally when going for a record time. GG.

Dunno if this has been already suggested, but Zommoros might be of some help in the FotM skin problem. Just add the possibility to throw 4 skins into MF and get a random one in return. Usual stuff. That way it’s still grindy and rare, but if you happen to be extremely unlucky with the FotM drops themselves, you get a few extra chances in the MF depending on how much other skins you have hoarded.

If you are unsure about your performance and possibility to cause fail, then I suggest you watch these guides from [KING] or go and read about them at gw2dungeons if you prefer written guides. With that, you will already be better than 99% of people at scales 1-20. You might even start to like FotM and evetually get to even higher tiers and do them regularly.

Not only enemies with chained CC, but also bigger groups of enemies that spam CC on you. Since they could burn through your stability so quickly and keep you under perma CC, the best way out of it I’m seeing is to give players (especially for solo situations where you become the only target for enemies) the unshakable buff. ^^
Anyway, I’m pretty sure that the whole stability rework thing will also include rebalancing many monster skills as some encounters would become… quite unbalanced.

AP shouldn't be visible ingame.

OP: People like you are the reason why I never kick players just because of low AP. When lvl 50 necro with 500 AP joins my “exp fullrun”, of course I will ready my kick button, but I will press it only as soon as I see he clearly intends to complete the dungeon with that char. My friend used to be one of the best dungeoneers I’ve ever seen when he had only 2k AP.

Anyway, what you ask for doesn’t seem like a solution to me. Actually, the way it is now is much better for everyone, even for you. Just think about it. If someone kicks you because he is a noob himself but blames you for not having enough AP, it’s probably better not to be in a party with them.

On the subject of correlation between AP and ability to perform well – there definitely is some. I mean… of course you can find exceptions (20k AP noobs), because some people just mindlessly farm and don’t understand the principles, but statistically speaking, more AP means more ingame time, which usually means more experience and better performance in any/all fields, including dungeons. It’s like if you set the bottom limit to 5k AP, you will get 50% noobs, but if you set it to 10k AP, you will only get 30% because not so many “casuals” make it as high.
